Bright and open Wintergreen contemporary 5 bedroom home perfectly situated on the top of Black Rock Mountain. Gorgeous breathtaking mountain and valley views from the house, multi-level deck, and patios. Enjoy the twinkle of the village lights below and the brilliant stars above while relaxing by the 2-story stone fireplace. Enjoy the stunning fully equipped updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, breakfast bar, and stone countertops. Large enough to entertain, this open plan seats 14 for meals (inside or out). Ample parking on level surface with house.

The main level features an open floor plan great room with vaulted wood ceilings, wet bar, and 2 story stone fireplace, flowing into dining area and kitchen with access to multi level deck overlooking mountain view. The great room 65" Samsung Ultra HD flat screen TV is equipped with DVD player, Onkyo Receiver, and Bose Surround Sound stereo system, HD Cable TV, Wifi, YouTube TV, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+. Super fast high speed wireless internet can easily handle multiple devices, Zoom, video conferencing, streaming, gaming, etc. All bedrooms include flat screen TV's with cable, Wifi, Netflix, etc.

Primary Suite with king bed is conveniently situated on the main level. The lower level features: a second king bedroom; third bedroom with queen; fourth bedroom with double; and fifth bedroom with two pyramid bunk beds, private walk out patio with beautiful view of mountains and valley, two gaming chairs, and large 65" Samsung Ultra HD flat screen TV, HD Cable, Wifi, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+.

The host was very pleasant and friendly. They even said the house was cleaned up sooner than expected so we were able to check in early which worked out well for the early flights we had. A few things to note that maybe the owners could address with the cleaning crew: 11 live large spiders and 2 cricket spiders had to be killed, multiple dead bugs including a squished one to the drapes in master bedroom (I have photos if owner would like me to email them), ants all over the island bar near the sink, the upstairs floor in particular had crumbs all over and the floor left our socks/feet blackened like the floors hadn’t been mopped in some time. There were dirty dishes in the cupboards. One of the overhead lights in the bedroom didn’t work most of the time so we moved the girl from that room into another room. Thank you for the amazing views and beautifully laid out home. Just wish it was a touch cleaner and that lights and dishes and basic cleaning was checked before hand. Sometimes the owners are unaware that the cleaners aren’t doing as well, so hopefully this helps.

Excellent and cozy place

Excellent stay overall. Weather kept us from enjoying the outside much but the cozy fireplace inside was super nice, especially with the supplied wood. Furniture was comfy and the smart TVs and streaming/cable was fabulous!

Great view and peaceful

Amazing views along the blue ridge trail in wintergreen. Host was communicative and check in was easy! Plentry of room for our stay and guests. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay!

Perfect for us!

Beautiful views, cabinesque with all of the modern ammenities, great fire pit, comfortable, great layout, clean, homey, plenty of bed space. Easy walk to the market if you forgot something. Great seating everywhere, in the house, on the deck(s), by the fire pit. Wonderful!

Great location!

Beautiful property. Scenic location. This house matched our needs perfectly! Everyone had a great time. We cooked all of our meals during our stay. This was probably the best equipped kitchen of any rental we have stayed in. Sylvia is the perfect hostess. She is a great communicator and very considerate. Fall Getaway

We arrived during a rainy week and found ourselves in the clouds. The next day brought spectacular views as the clouds cleared. The decking and outdoor gathering areas of this home are remarkable and take advantage of the elevation and beautiful mountain setting. During our outdoor cookout, we were visited by a family of deer who were unconcerned by our presence. This was the experience we wanted and enjoyed our stay very much. The house is comfortable and well equipped and communication with the host was excellent.

Friends getaway

Wonderful property that fit the three families in our group very well, and amazing views! House well laid out and stocked, we had everything we needed. Beds super comfortable. Close proximity to local cideries and breweries, which was nice, but it was also great just staying on the property and enjoying those views. Especially loved the lower patio with the Adirondack chairs, perfect for gazing over the valley. Overall a great weekend getaway.

This is a gorgeous property. The view is amazing. There is ample room for multiple families. The quiet road is perfect for taking a walk. It was a lovely location for our family to enjoy a long weekend.

Family ski trip

Location and views are spectacular! House is well stocked. Just a short walk or a 1-2 min drive to the ski resort and hiking trails. Owner was very responsive and helped us rectify a minor problem within a few hours. I would highly recommend this property and owner for a trip to Wintergreen. Thank you for allowing us to make some memories at your home.

Perfect location!

We had two families with kids and it was perfect for us! The view is amazing and the living area is very cozy with the fireplace. The downstairs kids area allowed for some separation, but it’s intimate enough for quality family time. The location is so close to the ski area, but not on top of it, which was nice. We want to come back!

Really enjoyed our stay. We used the house for a small group men's spiritual retreat. Great space for quiet contemplation, great access for long bike rides and hikes. Kitchen was well fitted out.

Breathtaking views

My SIL's and my families (total 4 adults and 5 kids, ages 1-12) had a wonderful long weekend at this mountain home with unbeatable views! We felt the home was cozy with enough space for everyone, including toddler naps and bunk room for kids to play. The kitchen was well equipped and two locations of countertop seating plus a table for eight made mealtimes and art/craft times easy. The showers were fine in terms of water pressure and hot water, and everyone said their beds were comfortable. The trails nearby were too difficult for our littles, but we still enjoyed walking the neighborhood and the kids liked playing in the woods on the property while we sat enjoying the view from the adirondack chairs on the hardscape. We traveled about 30 minutes for an awesome family dinner spot at the Blue Mountain Brewery and enjoyed Blackbear Creamery for dessert. Other meals we prepared at the house with groceries we purchased prior to the trip as it seemed stores were far, though we did check out the little market which had many items. The only recommendation we would have is to bring along a blanket or two for snuggling on the couch. Otherwise we felt the linens were plenty. The host was exceptional with communication--kind, friendly, not at all overbearing, and very accessible. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return!

Stop searching and book it!

As our 25-yr-old son said, "This house is sick!" It's lovely, comfortable, and in a perfect location--high enough for a fantastic view and low humidity, but near The Market and resort. The thoughtful owners have it stocked with everything a renter could need and furnished for a wonderful experience--lots of big beds, TVs in every room, a long comfy L-shaped sofa in front of a giant high-def TV also viewable from the kitchen and big square dining table that seats 8 (perfect for playing games), and tons of extra seating inside and out. We went in hot August, and the A/C works great on both floors. We took advantage of the super close, rocky, and fun Plunge and Blackrock hiking trails; elderly should avoid both. It was Labor Day weekend so we went to Cabin Jam at the resort slopes for live music and ski lift rides. If you go, take tailgate chairs and golf umbrellas because there's no shade. Nearby Sweet Bliss Bakery sells tasty cinnamon buns, Black Bear Creamery serves up scoops made locally, and Nelly's Ford Farmers Market has fresh veggies we enjoyed with a dinner off the house grill. There is an overlook just a half mile down the road with a GORGEOUS view of the valley and picnic tables where we ate lunch. Also, don't miss the sunset at Raven's Roost. Owner Sylvia is upbeat, full of ideas, and communicates promptly. They even let us check out late since housekeeping wasn't coming until the following day. We're all still smiling and hope we get to go back to Millers High Life!

Family Ski Trip

Location of house is perfect for ease of getting to the mountain. Pictures of house were deceiving of bedroom sizes. We had 8 Adults and 4 Kids on our trip and we could have used a more space. Bring extra blankets with you.
