Tybee Island Paradise: Cozy 1 bedroom Condo Rental

The Savannah Beach & Racquet Club is a gated bay front complex located on the quiet North end of Tybee Island. The Bay is where the Savannah River meets the Atlantic Ocean. There is a wonderful beach area just steps from the condo. This area of the beach is known to be very family friendly as it is less crowded. The location is great for dolphin watching, watching large ship containers travel into Savannah port. If you enjoying walking along the beach you can walk all the way to the South end of the Island, without leaving the sand. The Beach & Racquet Club is a great alternative to staying at a hotel room on the island. Enjoy more space and amenities like fully equipped kitchens, living room with cable TV , private balconies, tennis courts, and pool. All of the one bedroom condos share use of a 14'x20' pool and 10"x10' kiddie pool. A&B building condos have coin-operate laundry on each floor. There is parking for 1 vehicle only, NO GOLF CARTS, TRAILERS, BOATS, JET SKI'S or OVERSIZE VEHICLES ALLOWED.

Unit 212B, 2nd floor Unit overlooking the beach. Queen size bed in bedroom, queen size sofa sleeper, small bunk beds in hallway.

Roomy with great view

We loved the place. It was roomy and updated. The view was excellent with clear sight of the cargo ships, dolphins, and shrimp boats.

SUMMARY: FAIR (grade C+) GOOD: nice loc, cozy place, parking, security, good heater, good value SO,SO: Bath fan no work, TV in BR unuseable, cockroach runs across LR and kit floor SUGGEST: Step stool for bunks, blow drier, light over kit table, more blankets than just one, pens/pencils, writing pad, move bath light switch to inside bath. Tape dwn rug corner in kitchen - trip hazard.

Love the location of this condo. Great views of the beach, container and tanker ships moving into the Savannah River from the balcony. Much quieter than further south on the island.

Absolutely perfect location

The general property is very comfortable. Great pool. View is the ultimate best part of this location. Got to watch dolphins as often as twice a day from the balcony. Secure location. Property management was very easy to contact. Would book again.

Peaceful Christmas.

We have visited Tybee Island for several times over the past 4 years, 3 of those at Christmas time. This was our first time at this location. We really enjoyed it. The view was excellent.

Excellent stay right by the beach

This is a very nice place with room for a couple, or a family with younger children. Amazing view of the water and dunes, but enough back to be private. Nice to have the swimming pool there as well as the beach for a change of pace. 2 minutes to walk to the beach.

Beachfront Hideaway

This unit faces the river/ocean and had a great view. Easy access to pool and parking lot. The unit was small and does not have a dishwasher but is adequate for 2 adults. The balcony has mirrors on one wall and when you walk out it looks like someone is there. I’d take them down. Otherwise nice unit.

Great view!

We were happy with the condo overall. It was clean and well equipped. This unit has a great view of the beach, which is a stones throw away, 2 or 3 min walk from room. The pool is right at the bottom of the steps going up to the unit. The elevator is around the other side of the building, with a ramp if needed. The only issue we had was a lack of water pressure. Prepare for a long shower, because the pressure is not good. If you flush the toilet, the kitchen sink does little more than drip. Btw, the sleeper sofa isn’t the most comfortable, but it is a sleeping sofa! That said, we had a great time, and really enjoyed sitting on the deck, watching the ships go in and out. If you’re looking for a small, basic condo and aren’t worried about all the frills, then this may be a good choice. (Except for the water pressure!)

Far Below Expectations

1. Did not receive check in information from VRBO (Lori) until I requested it. 2. Checked in late, couldn’t find the elevator, which ended up being at the opposite end of the building. Carried all of our luggage via stairs to the 3rd floor. 3. There were no blankets in the condo except a 1/4 inch thick polyester spread on the cheap queen. 4. Said queen size bed was old as the hills and incredibly uncomfortable. 5. The linens were stained and minimal. There weren’t enough to make down the pull out couch. There were exactly four bath towels - for four of us for a week. 6. One roll of toilet paper! 7. The bunk beds are indeed small. My 5’7” daughter could not extend her legs. Also, the top bunk has no safety rail. My son fell out in the night. 8. The kitchen is barely functional. Stove is rusted. Fridge froze all of our food. The thermostat was not adjustable. 9. The couch is broken, so everyone slides to the middle. 10. You can’t actually see the water from the balcony unless you stand in one corner of the balcony or look at the mirror placed on the balcony for that purpose. 11.The pool was dirty - black stuff around the edge underneath the perimeter of the pool. 12. The pool closes at 9 pm, which is barely dark in July. 13. Contacted Lori (from whom I rented) regarding a number of these issues upon our arrival. I did not get a response. I again contacted her when we checked out - one day early - and still haven’t gotten a response. That’s right, we left our vacation a day early because the condo was that crummy.
