Welcome to Highlands Cottage. This beautifully decorated Sliding Rock Cabin is a 1 King bedroom (with TV), 1 bath, 1 story Ellijay Georgia, pet friendly cabin (no pet fees) with a large FENCED YARD, in the Blue Ridge Mountains is so comfortable summer or winter, you may never want to leave. Highlands is situated on the edge of a lovely mountain and is a perfect romantic getaway for relaxing. Relax on the porch swing, or read in the rocking chairs overlooking the lush valley and surrounding mountains. A hiking trail in the valley leads to a creek (Approx. 15 minute hike). After dinner, maybe, rock on the porch or soak in the hot tub so secluded that it's bathing suit optional, under a gazebo lit by moonlight and stars. Smart TV is watched through your favorite apps.
This Sliding Rock Cabin is an ADULT ONLY cabin (no guests under age 25). No cats please.

We encourage you to protect your vacation investment with a travel insurance of your choice.

Access: Access to this cabin is via gravel, mountain roads. 4 wheel drive is not required, confidence in mountain driving is recommended.

CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING/NO SHOW/EARLY DEPARTURE: Each cabin is privately owned and cancellations affect owners significantly. Cancellations, rescheduling, or changes must be submitted in writing and confirmed received by Sliding Rock Cabins® more than thirty-one (31) days prior to the original check-in date in order to receive refund, less a Sixty Five Dollar ($65) cancellation fee. Said changes regardless of reason made within thirty-one (31) days of your original check-in date will result in a forfeiture of all moneys paid. All moneys paid are non-transferable to another rescheduled date. Refunds will be given if Agent can re-book said dates with another guest limited to the extent of rebooking. Agents are not responsible for Guests inability to arrive or if Guests chooses to depart early for any reason, or if members of Guests party do not show up. Absolutely Amazing!!

My husband and I came for a quick getaway for my birthday. Hands down my best cabin experience. If you have fur babies and want a quaint and quiet getaway, this is perfect! Very clean and extremely dog friendly. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. If you cook, they have everything you need. Highland Cottage is beautiful!! And your fur babies will feel right at home. We can’t wait to go back!!❤️

Questionable Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was very small; however it did have a king size bed, and the furniture in the family room was comfortable. We had our dog with us and even though the yard was fenced, it was a horrible lot. We didn't use the hot tub; it was dirty with debris floating in it and not the best smelling. It should be drained and cleaned (they say it is after every stay, it's not). Last there is no view, unless you like trees. I wouldn't stay here again.

Amazing Birthday

My wife and I stayed 4 nights along with our pup for my birthday. We had an amazing time. The cabin was cozy and just right for the 3 of us. We enjoyed the hot tub in the early morning and evenings. We drove the wifes car and had no issues getting up to the cabin even as low as her car sits. The fenced in yard was perfect for our boston terrier. We are already looking to book our next cabin for our anniversary...Sliding rock cabins are definitely the way to go if you have pets!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in several cabins that Sliding Rock offers that are pet friendly. Of them all, this one was not our favorite. While it was clean and they provided items for our pets, the bathroom sink was severly clogged, not allowing water to drain for hours after use. The stairs going down to the hot tub are very steep and my small dogs were unable to navigate them so most of the yard was unusable to us. There appears to be a potential electrical issue as the lights in the cabin sporadically flicker and outlets sometimes don't work. The main TV in the living room does not have smart capabilities leaving us unable to watch Nexflix, HULU, etc unless we wanted to sit in the secondary bedroom on a twin daybed to watch. There are plenty of wild animals to be seen and the screened porch is a big plus. WE will use Sliding Rock again, but it will be in a different cabin.

AMAZING cozy getaway

We brought our dog with us and they were SO sweet to set up an area just for her and leave treats and toys! The surrounding area was breathtaking! Sitting in the hot tub while listening to nature was such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Ellijay!

Mountain heaven

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great cabin for the two of us. We recently lost ourdog who came with us for the last 11 yrs, so of course we missed having him with us. Deer visited us every morning and evening. We counted 14 in all. We went hiking every day and went into Blue Ridge for ice cream. We did lock ourselves out one day and Sliding Rock sent someone immediately to our rescue. They are so great and we will continue to come back and stay with them as often as possible.

Wonderful mountain getaway

The surrounding country side is gorgeous. I was unnecessarily concerned about the road in as we have a Prius with low clearance and Google maps was active the whole way in. We look forward to visiting again

The area is beautiful and just what we needed for rest and relaxation away from our busy work and life schedules. I do feel like this cabin needs some upgrades. The couch has got to go. It says in the middle so much that it’s actually impossible to sit on. The master bedroom mattress is also something that needs some work. We stayed three nights and after sleeping in that bed for those three nights, I was practically crippled with back pain. I completely understand that these are rental properties and if it were mine, I would not buy expensive things either, but the couch is a definite upgrade and maybe they could tho k about a thick mattress pad for the bed at some point. I did love the theater room and we enjoyed watching movies in there since it rained most of the weekend.

Quaint Cabin in The Woods

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was just as advertised. Small and perfect for 2 adults, my wife and I enjoyed it and it had everything we needed. The only, small issue was the rough road leading into the cabin from the paved road. This community could certainly do a batter job of maintaining the gravel road into the community. Too many potholes and ruts. I have a Suburban so it wasn't horrible to me but if you have a small sedan or low sitting vehicle I'd advise to rent something more robust or have a 4x4 or SUV at least. Overall it's a really nice area, I would hate to live there full time mainly because of the really rough road leading in.

needed vacation

I had to keep them inside 90% of the time because the "fenced-in" back yard had a gate and an area near the gate that they walked right through the slats. Back yard needs work. I almost fell bc it was so steep and not "finished". Not recommending bc of back yard and fencing.
