Great getaway !

This is a great place to stay if you want to get away from a crowded motel. You have a small kitchen and outdoor grilling, plus the view over the river from the back porch is awesome. This is the third year coming here with friends and now my adult son comes too. Fishing was good, food we prepared was great and companionship we shared was memorable.

Absolutely awesome cabin!

Wife and I went to Cherokee for a concert at the casino. This cabin (and the Appaloosa 1) are in a beautiful location overlooking the river. It is a few minutes to the town and casino- secluded but close to restaurants and shopping! Hiking and walking along the river and you can hear it at night. Large porch with amazing view. If i was building a hunting cabin this is exactly what i would want. Host was awesome and responded quickly. The cabin was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. Will definitely be back

Comfy & Cozy

House had everything we needed (plus some). We were comfortable and cozy and it was perfect for our little holiday getaway. The property is well maintained, the view is wonderful and the host let us know he was available if we needed anything. We look forward to staying again when it’s warm.

We loved our stay , we got to go during a Winter storm and it snowed a lot. We stayed warm and cozy in the cabin. There was multiple games there to occupy our time and an impressive DVD collection. The host had great communication with us arriving the day of the winter storm and made sure we arrived safely. Definitely recommend staying here.

Great cabin & great stay!

We enjoyed this cabin so much! Cabin was clean and stocked for a pleasant stay. Great river view and loved listening to the river. Convenient location that was also away from crowds. Owner communicated great and I felt free to contact him with anything but didn’t have to because the cabin was great! Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect spot

Not one bad thing to say about this place. Quiet, clean, cozy, and comfy. Short walk to the river for fishing. Short drive to anything you need/want. Very friendly host is just a text away. Wil definitely be coming back

There is no heat in bedrooms or bathroom can't shut bedroom doors if so no heat everything was older furniture beds could be softer but great location

Convenient cozy cabin

Great cabin on the river,convenient to Bryson city and Cherokee. This was our third time staying at Appaloosa 2 and wont be our last.

Better than pictures

Great location, close proximity to Cherokee and Bryson City. Beautiful wide river out the back deck with a short trail to reach it. Even saw two huge elk across the street both nights! Clint was very friendly and accomodating. Charcoal grill in good shape, fire pit in good shape, porch and porch chairs were great. Didn't spend too much time inside with how beautiful it was outside!

Great cabin

This is our 3rd time staying at the Appaloosa cabins and we always enjoy our stay. The host is very professional and always quick to answer. The cabin is just what we needed, a place to unwind and relax. The views are beautiful.

Wonderful stay!

Beautiful, peaceful location but still convenient to downtown Cherokee. I wish we could have brought the sound of the river home with us. The cabin was cozy and the view and vibe was perfect. We saw bald eagles, wild turkey, and a giant elk!

Amazing little getaway and convenient loctions

Cabin was so clean and so close to the casino and shopping centers. We will definitely be booking again when we come back to visit. Also saw some turkeys around the cabin and loved being so close to the river. You won’t be disappointed if you book this cabin.

Short getaway

The log cabin was very quaint. Has all the things that you need and very convenient to the casino. My criticism is that there’s quite a bit of noise traffic.

Cabin life, relax with nature and enjoy the bubbling brook below

1st of all the stay was splendid. When needed to speak with the owner, it was hassle free. Response was immediate and there were no issues to deal with. Wish we could bring large family to share the fun.

Perfect Location

The cabin itself is just as pictured here. Nothing fancy but quite sufficient! Convenient location, close enough for a quick jaunt over to Cade’s Cove, Clingman’s Dome, the casino, the island park, etc. The river is nice to listen to from the deck, and we often saw fishermen enjoying the day. There’s a path down to the water that’s not too bad if you want to fish or just wade in the water. It was supplied with most anything you’d need for a short stay. Coffee pot, pots and pans, dishes, air fryer, microwave, etc. There were plenty of DVD movies to watch, some board and card games, etc. The tv is a smart tv so you’re able to log in to whatever streaming service you have and watch whatever you want. Oh, there is a PERFECT picnic table area off the deck!!! I only have two small “negatives” to note, and they by far are outweighed by the positives. If you get hot easily while sleeping, be aware that there is only one AC unit (in the living area) and it did not sufficiently cool the bedrooms, even with leaving one of them closed the entire time (since it was not being used). There is a fan in each room, it just wasn’t enough. But to be fair - I get hot pretty easily at night. Just something for others to consider. I do wish there had been a place to hang some clothing. There were plenty of drawers, but I would rather hang some of my clothes. Personal preference, but worth noting for future guests. Definitely would book again.

Sisters Birthday Getaway

The drive up from Raleigh during the week was beautiful. We stopped at the Zoo and then made our way up to the cabin. We enjoyed the relaxing environment. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed all the TV stations and programs. We watched movies and played games the provided. Next we will stay longer.
