Quiet Cottage in the heart of Bar Harbor 2026 Vacation Rental Permit VR2R26-343
Walk to everything downtown. Access the Park in minutes. Whether you are here for the stunning views of Acadia National Park or the freshest lobster in the country, you will be in the perfect location to enjoy everything that Mount Desert Island has to offer.
Our two bedroom home is located at the end of the Shore Path in a quiet pocket neighborhood. Walk one block to Main Street and you are in the heart of downtown. Restaurants, the Village Green, and shops flank the streets. One block in the other direction, you are at the entrance to the Shore Path. Catch the morning sun sparkling on Frenchman's Bay while walking past beautiful homes and gardens. Both Grant Park and Agamont/town dock can be accessed this way. Our home is walking distance to a gated playground that will accommodate ages 2-8. Furry visitors have plenty of options from this location as well. 1.2 miles down the road is the Compass Harbor trailhead.
Hop in a car, and you can be at the Acadia National Park (ANP) entrance in minutes. You can also reach the Park on bike – we provide two Trek hybrid bikes that are perfect for riding the carriage trails. Better still, avail yourself of the free, low emissions busses, the Island Explorer, as parking will be an issue both in town and in the Park. Most busses you can catch right from the Village Green minutes from the house.
After a day of exploring ANP or a lovely meal downtown, walk back to our quiet little neighborhood. Our cozy home boasts a sunporch with a reading nook, living room, and eat in kitchen with newer appliances (including a dishwasher and garbage disposal). We reserve the house for our own use so it is fairly equipped with everything that you might need. Sleep with the windows open and enjoy the fresh Maine air. Rest assure our neighbors are the best and there is no noise.

Host was responsive. House was close to everything we were there for….shopping, restaurants and Acadia. The driveway was a tight fit for our F150, but other than that we had no issues.

This charming house was perfect. It had everything we needed and it was clean and very comfortable. The house is located on a quiet street. We were able to walk to downtown Bar Harbor with no problems from the house. We were also able to walk the shore path from this house as well. Not having to park downtown was worth its weight in gold. The house has a one vehicle off street parking spot. Which makes parking stress free. The house is very close to Acadia National Park entrances. It was easy to get out and enjoy the park early in the morning come back to the house during the day and go back and enjoy the park later in the evening.

Comfortable retreat in a perfect location!
The home was very comfortable to stay in, felt like our own. The location was perfect for walking into the adorable town, to local hiking spots or catching the great Explorer bus to fabulous hiking trails. We would definitely stay there again.

Great Bar Harbor location
The cottage was convenient to restaurants and far away enough away from waterfront to avoid cruise crowds. Would definitely come back again!

Acadia Vacation
The property was clean, comfortable and convenient to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. We enjoyed being able to walk to the downtown area and not have to search for parking.

Wow, you nailed it. Bar Harbor parking requires a permit or payment. The easy walk to everywhere in town is something we enjoy as well. Plus the free bus service during the summer to the rest of the island. Please visit again.

Nice vintage cottage house. Reminded me of my grandma's house. Everything was clean with all the amenities. Enjoyed the closeness to downtown Bar Harbor and enjoyed that we could walk the harbor walk and end up on the street of the cottage.

Thanks for sharing your enjoyment of our home and Bar Harbor. The home has woodwork and trim from an age gone by while still having modern amenities. We do our best to make the home comfortable and to have what you need to get the most out of enjoying Acadia National Park and the town as well.

Just got back from our annual trip and we're already looking forward to staying there again next year. We are very grateful to the owners for providing us with the opportunity to stay in their wonderful little cottage. We just love staying here because of the convenient in-town location (walk to everything), cozy space, and of course, great hosts. See you next year! Thank you!!

Bar Harbor Stay
This cottage was in the perfect location. We were able to walk to town/restaurants and short drive to Acadia National Park. The location couldn't have been more perfect. I would definitely stay here again. We loved it!!

Bar Harbor Break
This property's location to both Acadia Park and Bar Harbor, make it the perfect place to enjoy Mount Desert Island.
Very responsive host was just the icing on the cake.

Snow Street Cottage
This Snow Street property has a superb location for enjoying all Bar Harbor and Acadia activities! The property is cozy and well-equipped. We loved it enough to come back a second year!

Great little cottage on a quite street.
We had a great time in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We were able to walk where ever we wanted in Bar Harbor and could be anywhere in Acadia in under half an hour. The light house cruise and the carriage ride on the Carriage Roads were the best and something everyone visiting the area should do.

Another great stay at Snow Street cottage
We come here every year and we are so thankful to be able to stay at this property. The owners are very responsive when we have questions. The property is cozy and comfortable, and in an excellent location. We are already looking forward to our next stay. Thank you.

Toni and I and the kids enjoy hiking, kayaking, Family Fun Day at Seur Des Monts in Acadia (in July). We've been vacationing in Bar Harbor every summer since about 1998. We all enjoy the friendships we have formed here, which have lead to visits back to the Island every Thanksgiving as well. When we're not here we enjoy gardening, rollerskating and rollerblading, the beach, and hangin' with the kids.
