Rocko's Cottage Nestled in the Heart of Downtown Bar Harbor
Rocko's Cottage is located on a side street in the downtown area of the beautiful island town of Bar Harbor. We are pet friendly for your well mannered four legged friends. Rocko was actually our 7 lb Dorkie. (Dachshund/Yorkie)
You will be within walking distance of over 25 restaurants ranging from fine dining to family fare. Bicycle rentals, kayaking trips, and unique shops galore are all just minutes away from your front door and yes we can tell you which of these places welcome pets. Walk the shore path or across a natural sand bar (actually a glacial deposit) to visit beautiful Bar Island. Never have to worry about parking your car or enjoying a cocktail and then driving.
Rocko's Cottage was built in 2005 and is tastefully and comfortably furnished. You will find everything that you need to enjoy your stay. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities of life, and the linens are all in good condition. The open floor plan actually makes our cottage appear much larger inside. It must be noted that the bathroom does not have a tub but does have a nice 4 ft. shower and for your convenience there is a stackable washer and dryer. This is a great house and location for people that travel with pets or just one or two couples or a small family that want to stay in the heart of town. Once you visit us you will be sure to return again and again.
We, the owners, live locally and we are always only a phone call away if there is a problem. Welcome to our home and enjoy your stay....

Great spot for a family of 4 with a dog. We were walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor and a short drive (or jog!) to Acadia National Park. The neighborhood is very quiet despite the proximity to town. The cottage is very cute, adequately furnished/supplied and well-maintained. Lisa is an excellent host and we hope to stay here again in the future on our next Acadia adventure!

Very clean cottage with an extremely well equipped kitchen. Location wise, it’s super handy for walking along the shore path and into Bar Harbor, yet it’s on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle. We’re always very grateful when hosts welcome our dog, and they provided a list of dog friendly restaurants, most of which we ate at. If we return to Bar Harbor we would stay here again.

We loved Rocko’s cottage! Very clean, comfortable and had everything we could have wanted! The location is great - we could leave the car parked and walk about Bar Harbor. Lisa and Rick are wonderful hosts.

We had a wonderful trip to Bar Harbor. Rocko's Cottage was the perfect place for our family and fur baby. It was clean, very comfortable, and in a great location. Lisa was so nice. We made lots of memories on this trip and have vowed to return often.

Hi Tom, Rocko’s Cottage is not an apartment but a house. I checked in with you after you arrived and you said how great the house was and how much you enjoyed it. I am not sure where the musty odor comment came from. Lisa

excellent dog friendly place to stay, property owner was great.
Everything you would want in a dog friendly place to stay and very good location to downtown Bar Harbor.

Easy check-in. Very clean. Helpful hosts. Great location - walking distance to all of Bar Harbor. Well-furnished cottage.

excellent location for relaxed holiday; clean and neat with everything we needed including beach towels and well equipped kitchen; perfect for walking into town and along the shore.

Great location

Enjoyed our stay in this well stocked, cozy cottage. The size was adequate for our family of four adults and loved we could bring our pup. King size bed was very comfortable and cottage was very clean. The cottage sits six feet behind the owners home but still plenty of room to park. Host was very responsive. Nice short walk to downtown Bar Harbor and close to Acadia. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage so close to town. Very comfortable bed and had everything we needed. Very dog friendly!

This has been by far the best experience I have had. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The house was wonderful...clean and supplied with everything needed. The location is perfect, we walked most days. Thanks so very much for allowing us to stay in your home. I would highly recommend and stay again should the opportunity arise.

This was our second time staying here. It is such a great place to stay. So clean, accommodating and close to everything.

Great spot to visit Acadia and spend time in Bar Harbor
Excellent location, only a few minutes drive from the park and right in town, walking distance to many restaurants, shops and the water front in town.

Lisa and Rick, the owners of Rocko's Cottage, live and work in Bar Harbor. Lisa works in the hospitality industry and Rick was an engineer at the Jackson Laboratory. and has just recently retired. Lisa has lived in Bar Harbor for over 60 years, she is pictured here with their two dogs, Rocko and Alice.
