Spectacular Seaview, Fire Island Beach House


Welcome to Pleasant Dunes! A spacious Fire Island house in the beautiful Seaview Community with traditional charm and all the comforts of home. We are local Long Island owners who bought this beach home for our family to enjoy and share. We will do everything to make your stay wonderful!
Fire Island is a unique vacation spot accessible only by ferry or boat. Bicycles are the predominant mode of transportation. Peak summer season is June-July-August but stays during the spring and fall offer a special peaceful retreat.
The 1st floor includes a bright open living room with large, comfy sectional (perfect gathering place to play board games or watch TV), a large kitchen and dining table with all the necessities, and a master bedroom with full bathroom (ideal for guests with mobility issues). Hardwood floors throughout.
2nd floor has 4 bedrooms: 1 queen (with a half bath) 1 double, 1 single, bunk room with 1 single plus bunk beds (1 full, 1 single), and a beautifully newly remodeled bathroom with a tub. There is a cottage on the property that sleeps 2 (2 single beds) with a 1/2 bathroom!

The backyard has large deck surrounded by gardens and privacy. There is a Weber propane grill, a large table that seats 10, shade, and of course, an outdoor shower. There are bikes, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and wagon for your use.
You will enjoy the central AC during hot summer months, Dish Network and WiFi services. Beach towels and linens are provided and the new washer and dryer are conveniently located in the kitchen.
The home is short walk (about 200 feet) to the ocean with community provided lifeguards.

The Seaview Market is well-stocked and conveniently located next to the ferry dock, just down the block.
Seaview also has a private Marina if you would like to bring your personal boat, with transient slips available. Reservations are recommended. A 10 minute walk to the West brings you to the town of Ocean Beach with many restaurants and shops. A 15 minute walk to the East brings you to the town of Ocean Bay Park. The Seaview community values a respectful family oriented atmosphere.
Quit hours are from 10 pm to 8 am. Parties and group rentals are not allowed at any time.

This is the ideal beach house, and especially rare on Fire Island for its generous common spaces — deck with plenty of space to eat and relax, big, airy living room-dining room-kitchen and all outfitted to make a beachy vacation peachy. The short walk to the gorgeous, uncrowded stretch of beach, many beach chairs, plenty of beach towels, games for the rainy day, comfortable beds and a little cottage that was perfect for a visiting niece and great-nephew. We were three generations, ten of us at the peak, aged 3 to 84, and all agreed it was blissful.

GREAT HOUSE!

We have rented several houses in FI, but this house was probably the best yet. It was thoughtfully planned out for a beach vacation, had a well equipped kitchen for people who like to cook as we do, everything tasteful, comfortable and clean! Perfectly situated to the beach and the market. Relaxing backyard deck, comfy beds, beautiful newly renovated bathroom. And, Karen is an excellent and attentive host.

A Treasure in Seaview

Everyone in my extremely critical family loved this house. It was tastefully done and equipped with everything you would need to enjoy your time on FI. Everything was clean and well taken care of. My family of 11 was comfortable inside and on the deck.

Amazing house, amazing stay!

Our stay at Karen's house was perfect, and it is even better than the pictures (which is rare in my experience). The house was very clean, well supplied, and tastefully renovated recently. The outdoor space was big with lots of shade from the sun, and the outdoor shower was amazing. We are a group of middle aged friends in our 40's, and this house provided everything we needed. Hope to come back next summer.

Wonderful stay on FI

Just found our new annual vacation spot! Property beautifully located by beach, ferry and just far away enough from town. Excellent size for larger family. Greg outdoor sitting area. Bikes and beach equipment exactly what we needed and in gear condition. Karen was a wonderful and communicative host. No complaints and only good things to say. Thank you Karen!

Unbeatable Stay!

One of the few 6 bedroom homes on fire island that could accommodate our large family trip. Amazing back deck with patio table, lounge furniture, gas grill, and outdoor shower. Central AC kept us cool and comfortable during a heat wave. Bedding was clean and very comfortable. Amazing location, quick walk to the beach, market, town, and ferry stop. Wonderful communication from host. What made our stay above and beyond were the comfy beach chairs, towels, and bikes. You won’t regret staying here. :) Thank you, JoAnn!

This was an excellent stay at a great property. It's an older home that has been nicely renovated, sitting in an extraordinary location that was both close to the beach and a short walk to the Seaview Market, probably the best market in any Fire Island community. Also close enough to the many restaurants and shopping in Ocean Beach that we never felt like it was a burden to go there, which isn't always the case if you stay farther away in Ocean Bay Park. The bedrooms were relatively small but numerous and well appointed, and the deck space out back was spacious and a great common area, along with the living room. We found the house immaculately clean when we arrived, and our host JoAnn was great about checking in and responding to any questions. It's an easy recommendation.

Overall this was the perfect Fire Island beach house. The location,decor and overall amenities, were top notch. Everything you could ever need was available for a perfect getaway. Bikes were well maintained, beach chairs and umbrellas, outdoor grill and deck was fabulous after a day at the beach. Walking 10 minutes to great restaurants through a beautiful and safe enclave was fabulous. The beds were comfortable and the outdoor shower immaculate. Kitchen was amply stocked with everything you could ever need. My family had a fabulous time at Pleasant Dunes !! Hope to visit again next year.

Great location

Perfect location for easy access to beach and restaurants. Seaview is a beautiful community that's great for families. Karen was an excellent host, very responsive to any questions. The house was bigger in person than pictures can portray.

Great place to be at the beach

Spacious beach house

A great house on a block that is convenient to the market and close to the beach. Plenty of room for people to spread out and the highlight is the beautiful back deck. Highly recommend.

Home Again, Naturally

My friends and I reunited at Pleasant Dunes after staying there in 2019, and returning felt like coming home. The house has been carefully and lovingly maintained. Lovely personal touches that do not overwhelm you but make it easy to settle in. We are a mature group of women, who enjoy our time together but require privacy and time to recover from socializing, and the house offers you ample space todo both. Hope to return repeatedly.

Beautifully Appointed Home

Pleasant Dunes was a lovely home. You can tell it is well taken care of and had everything we needed. Very close to the beach and the ferry. Would love to visit again.

Beautiful house!

The house is a must stay. Having stayed in Ocean Beach a couple time our move over to Seaview was amazing. The house was beyond what I expected it to be. The house has a beautiful layout with details taken to the classic decor. We all had great rooms with plenty of space and the kids enjoyed the bunk room. The outdoor deck space was amazing and relaxing. My husband enjoyed his sleep in the cottage. Lol. Karen was very easy to contact and answer any questions. Would 100% rent again.

Great comfortable

House is brighter than appears in photos. Conveniently located near to market, Ocean beach shops and of course the beach. Owner was great to. Communicate with. House was well stocked towels bikes kitchen gadgets etc.

Perfect FI Beach House

We loved this house! It's an ideal location - on the beach block. It's close to the ferry/market and Ocean Beach but quiet without a lot of foot traffic. The house has been renovated so that it retains the classic bungalow charm but is perfectly clean and crisp with modern bathrooms, etc. The main rooms are flooded with lights from 180 degrees of windows! It's large (5 bedrooms) but is still cozy. The owner has equipped the house with everything you could want - all in good condition. Great bikes and beach accessories. Large deck - fully furnished. This is the best house we've rented in Seaview/OB. We highly recommend it (but not during the weeks we want)!

Rob & I have been visiting Fire Island since we were young adults. After years of visiting, finally decided we wanted to make it our second home and purchased in 2018. We each have 3 adult children and and a grandchild who have all grown to love Seaview as much as we have. It's the perfect location, a quiet ocean community, nestled between the busier towns of Ocean Beach and Ocean Bay Park. Our favorite things about Seaview are hearing the ocean waves at night (if you turn off the AC & leave windows open!), listening to the birds chatter, greetings from the neighborhood deer and the intoxicating scent of honeysuckle and pine. No cars adds to the peacefulness.

You will find modern mansions and little bungaloos, scattered along the the thin strip of land called Fire Island, this home is special. From the moment you enter the front door, the rich green wood floors and open floor plan greet you like an old friend.

Pleasant Dunes is perfectly situated so close to the ocean, the sound of the waves will lull you to sleep, but the Seaview Market down the block towards the bay is a nicely stocked grocery for all your provisions! Long beach walks, long bike rides, and stargazing are enjoyed by everyone. Water taxis make it easy to visit all the other communities on Fire Island such as the National Seashore at Watch Hill, Davis Park, Sailor's Haven, Atlantique, Kismet and more.
