Bald Head Island Family Retreat with private pool, BHI & Shoals!

We welcome you to love our renovated beach cottage as much as we do! We are tucked away in the Maritime forest with its beautiful live oak trees but only a 2 minute golf cart ride to fabulous South Beach. The large (private for guests only) community pool is only steps away for those who do want to stay close to the house. We have two - 6 passenger golf carts ready for you to explore the island. Our home sleeps 8 guests comfortably. Our first floor has 2 bedrooms each with king beds and adjoining full baths. The second floor has one bedroom with 2 queen beds and its own full bathroom. Each bedroom has a flatscreen Samsung smart TV. We have bikes & beach chairs for our guests to enjoy. Linens and towels (including beach towels) are included. We also include a starter set of all essentials (laundry, dish soap, paper towels/ toilet paper). Our kitchen is fully accommodated for those nights you want to eat in. A Weber propane grill is available for our guests use * please note propane is purchased directly by guests on island and not provided by owners. We take pride in having a clean, convenient, beautiful home for our guests to enjoy! If you have never experienced Bald Head Island you are going to love it! We are a barrier Island with no bridge which makes it super private and a nature lovers paradise! No cars allowed so you will take a passenger ferry to the island which adds to the excitement! A (guest) temporary membership to the (Lifestyle) BHI Club AND Shoals Club are available to purchase directly with the clubs. Depending on your interests, the clubs offer world class golf, multiple pools, tennis, pickleball and several restaurants for you to enjoy.
Our commitment is to provide you with a fully equipped home for you to enjoy beautiful Bald Head Island! The island is truly magical and fantastic for families, couples, multigenerational and guys/girls trips!
**Saturday-Saturday Check Ins only during peak season with a minimum 7 night stay between Memorial and Labor Day holidays**

Relaxing getaway

From check in to check out, the process was stress-free. The property had everything that we needed during our stay (beach chairs, sand toys, coolers, bug spray, beach towels, etc). The kitchen was well stocked and the home was beautifully decorated. Lots of towels and comfy beds! We had a wonderful, relaxing trip and can’t wait to go back!

Bald Head Island Stay

Cute house. Plants needed trimming off lower steps. Lower steps need replacing, well furnished except there was no can opener. Nice quiet location almost a recluse. Overall, a good choice to stay.

Great stay in Bald Head Island

We had a wonderful stay in Bald Head and looking forward to going back. Great communication by the host. We loved being able to use the bikes and the two golf carts came in handy!

Great Property

Great property for a family. The home is clean, nicely appointed and well kept. It had everything we needed, plus a couple of nice surprises, like the Shibumi beach umbrella. Both golf carts were in great shape. The community pool is just across the street and very nice. Overall, the location is in the center of the island and pretty close to everything. The property manager is super responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Friends vacation

This was our first time on Bald Head Island but hopefully not our last. This house was perfect for our needs. It was clean, well equipped, and beautiful. The two golf carts worked out great and the pool was super convenient. Thank you for a great experience!

Great place to stay on BHI!

This was the perfect place to stay on BHI! The house is beautiful and convenient to the beach/grocery store. The owners were very helpful and responsive. The house was also well stocked with supplies, beach chairs, bikes, beach towels, etc, all of which made our stay there easy and convenient. The neighborhood pool (located right by the house) was wonderful as well. Highly recommend this rental!

Amazing Island

Shanna was super accommodating and helpful. I’ve never had a property owner respond so quickly to inquiries. The cottage was updated, well appointed and perfect for our family. We will definitely recommend to others and plan on returning ourselves soon!

Amazing home and homeowner!

We had a wonderful time during our stay! The property was super clean, in great condition, very well appointed and in a great central location with a nice pool right outside the front door! Shanna is amazingly accommodating and responsive. The 2 6 person golf carts were awesome and worked perfectly for our party of 7. I would highly recommend this property and owner! We can’t wait to come back to beautiful BHI!!

Lovely cottage in the forest

This beautiful home was all that we hoped it would be and more. Everything was super clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The 6 person golf cart made it an easy drive to all locations on the island and enabled us to bring along beach chairs, a cooler, etc. Shanna was a great source of information about BHI and very responsive to all my questions. We hope to come back one day!

Beautiful home in family friendly neighborhood

Took our large family to BHI for a quick weekend and this house didn’t disappoint. Not only was the home beautiful, comfortable and well equipped for children of all ages but Shanna was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We would come back and recommend this rental to our friends for the future. Added bonus was the neighborhood the home was in. It was quiet and safe with tons of young kids. My children ventured into the common area for hours at a time and made lifelong friends in our short weekend getaway. We definitely will return and strongly recommend.

Wonderful BHI experience!!

23 Ibis Roost was an amazing first-time BHI rental experience! Centrally located and so easy to access everything on the island! Shanna was so great to work with--extremely quick and thorough communication! Her house has everything you need--the fact that beach towels, chairs, bikes, and golf cart are all there makes such a nice difference when traveling to Bald Head. The house is beautifully decorated and continuously upgraded. Relaxing, disconnected week that was long overdue and could not have been better!

Wonderful Host

We had the pleasure of staying at this property last weekend when Hurricane / Tropical Storm Ian came through. The house was very cute and had everything our family of 4 needed - especially when we were stuck inside during the storm. Well stocked kitchen, games, puzzles, and blankets. I cannot say enough about Shanna and the wonderful communication we had with her. She checked on us to make sure we were OK during the storm and did everything she could to make our stay as good as possible. I highly recommend this house!

Good for families

No complaints about the property but it was definitely not clean when we arrived. Our feet were black, we had to sweep up a half a trash bag full of trash from the kids room upstairs including dirty underwear, and had to mop the floors.

Perfect mid island location

Location5Two great running golf carts5House layout5Huge dining table great for meals and games5Cleanliness 3 Dated interior, master bedroom bedding needs updating with type that is washed with each new rental. One towel,washcloth,hand towel per person is not sufficient. I had to do laundry during our three nights for towels etc.Kitchen needs a thorough cleanup of cupboards. Stove needs deep clean.The house was a great floor plan for us but just in need of a good cleaning and freshen up furnishings and home goods. Stained fabric sofa.Porch furniture needs a good wipe down.I have rented many homes at various beaches and this was a disappointment, my DIL saw cockroaches on the first night and was freaked out.I realize it is off season and maybe property manager is out of routine or standards are lightened. We loved almost everything about the house. A good cleaning would go a long way.Why are there so many warn tired pillows in the closet in MBR just piled on floor of closet?

Absolutely perfect for two families.

The house is very cute and everything is nicely decorated. Just a very warm and inviting home. It’s a good size for two families. We had two pre-teens and two teens along with 4 adults. Plenty of space for everyone. The house being located directly across from pool was really a great feature. The kids loved it. The two golf carts were perfect. Got us everywhere we needed to be. Easy to get to beach, very easy to get to market. We loved having the house inside the Ibis Roost neighborhood. Felt very private. Zero complaints about the house and would highly recommend! Communication with host was perfect.

We are a retired military family, living in the Raleigh NC area and have loved Bald Head Island for many years! We finally bought our own cottage and are excited to share it with you! The joy of providing our guests with the same ability to make family memories on BHI is our pleasure!
