Welcome to Captain Bill's Guest House at Cagels Mill Lake (aka Cataract Lake)! This gorgeous home offers modern amenities in a countryside setting. Perfect for hikers, bikers, boaters, fishermen and anyone looking to unplug and enjoy lake life or just breath the country air. This two-story home is newly remodeled with modern decor and an updated fully-stocked kitchen. You will love the open concept and natural light along with your very own private balcony.

We're located seconds from the boat ramp and a short drive to scenic Cataract Falls and Lieber State Recreation Area. Boat parking is available and easily accessible on the property. For those of you who want a motorcycle adventure, the house is centrally located around some of the best country riding roads in the state. Garage parking is permitted for motorcycles.

Next to Captain Bill's guest house is Captain Bill's main home. Depending on the time of year, guests are welcome to our shared seasonal heated pool. The pool is in a private setting and offered to our rental guests. Depending on when you go you may have the entire pool area to yourself or shared with Captain Bill and friends.

From beginning to end the perfect stay! Cabin is immaculate and exactly as described. The pool that was offered is set in a fabulous landscaped yard. Definitely saving the information to visit again. Host Bill was immediately available when we had an arrival issue to help. I wish every stay was as wonderful as this cabin.

This place is VERY NICE!! Clean, and well maintained. Loved the pool area, which is about 15 steps from the place. You can walk down to a local Lake, to take in an amazing view. And, you can walk to an ice cream/pizza shop (sales essentials). We hiked and kayaked during our visit. An all around fun get away for my husband and me. Thank you Captain Bill!!

I spent two nights here with my girlfriend and 5 year old daughter and we enjoyed about every minute of it. Captain Bill made us all feel very welcome and cheered my crying daughter up by appointing her as a scallywag at the pool - which she was very excited about. She enjoyed herself so much she asked why we couldn't move there. Thanks again!

We certainly enjoyed our get-a-way at Captain Bill's! The approach to the cabin, a little tricky, gravel drive on an incline and parking with limited space to park and turn around especially having two vehicles. There are other rentals/homes in the area that are in very close proximity, which I wasn't expecting. We didn't get to enjoy the pool area across the road from our stay but looked very inviting. The cabin was well furnished and conducive to our liking. The restroom came with four walls and a door for privacy, but the ceiling was open to where you could see (and hear) over the wall into the rest of the living space. Some noises you don't want to hear coming from the bathroom :). Some bulbs (4) in the track lighting were not burning. The shower could use some floor grips, a little slippery. We always attempt to leave things better than we find them and so we did our own "sprucing up" with just what would be considered routine maintenance. Overall, a nice stay! Thank you!

We had a great time here. Directions were great and made it super easy to find. The place was the perfect size and they thought of everything. Pool area was beautiful and relaxing. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect getaway. Guest house had everything we needed and more. Pool area was great. Night swimming is a must! We would for sure return if ever in the area.

Beautiful lake, falls & stay

We had a great time in the beautiful guest house within a minute drive of the lake. 15 minutes from the beautiful Cataract Falls.

Weekend getaway

We stayed at Captain Bill’s for a family babymoon weekend - it was absolutely lovely! The pool area feels like you’re at a resort. We really enjoyed our weekend and will definitely be back, hopefully for an adult friends trip

In 1987 I had the good fortune of playing in the Pan American Games held in Indianapolis. It was that tournament that qualified my team to compete In the 1988 Olympic Games in the sport of Team Handball. I wrote in my diary the day before leaving Indianapolis that I felt as if I would live in this city someday. So here I am, since 1989. Love it!!!

After settling in Indy, and starting a couple of businesses, I purchased the large lakehouse adjacent to Guest Lodge, where you can find me most weekends. For years, I've made memories with family and friends on Cataract Lake and the area has become my second home. You'll find me at the lake, on my motorcycle, or enjoying my backyard and home most the time. I love hosting guests and making new friends so feel free to say HI!

My vacation weekend home is adjacent to this property. I thought it would be an excellent property for my friends when they visited. Turns out I have more properties than friends. Well... not really, but it was so well received that I decided to extend the invite to others that might be interested in the area. It is a charming property that you can see for yourself in the pictures. It is what it is and what you make of it. I enjoy having people stay and create memories of their own and whatever I can do to make it just a little more special, I will do it. This property and the location is more than just a cabin by the lake. It's an experience.
