Wavesong Cottage: Perched on Lake Michigan between Ludington and Manistee

Wavesong Cottage has been in our family since it was built in 1994. The master suite was added in 2006. Nestled in the Manistee National Forest right on Lake Michigan, it is a spacious cottage with high ceilings and a spectacular view that just swallows you up in its beauty. Come and enjoy the multi-tiered deck which is a great place to hang out and have a few drinks, play a game, or experience the most spectacular sunsets you have ever seen. Spend time connecting with family around the fire pit or play a game of corn hole while listening to the waves crash on the beach. Private stairs (68 steps) lead you down to our private beach. Spend the day exploring nearby Manistee and stroll down the boardwalk along the water or take in the local farmer's market. If you're interested in golf, Manistee National and Manistee Country Club are only 10 minutes away while Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club is only 45 minutes away.
Cuddle up in the massive Master Suite and wash off the sand in the spacious walk-in dual headed tile shower, have your morning coffee outside the sliding glass door with a perfect view of the lake. Enjoy the open floor plan with friends and family while everyone is gathered around the fireplace to take in a delicious meal made in the newly remodeled kitchen. It is a comfortable and airy space to get away from it all!

Beautiful home. Everything but food provided. We spent almost all of our time sitting on the deck. Great views of Lake Michigan. The last 30 years we have rented homes on Lake Michigan in the Manistee area. This home tops our list. Thank you Julie for letting us enjoy your home.

Our vacation was lovely. My grandsons loved the beach and fires in the evening. The house is comfortable with a wonderful view of the lake. The host is very responsive though we had no issues. Hope to come back next year!

We had the best time at thiss cabin. The house was clean and well stocked for our needs. The stairs to the beach where a bit dauting at first but stil more convenient than driving to a public beach. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves and got to enjoy it to the full extent everyday. There were games, dvds, and books to enjoy. The hammock nap I took one day may be one of the best things that ever happened to me in my life. We’d love to go back.

I’ve stayed at a number of rentals over the years, but Wavesong tops them all. It’s clean and well stocked. The view, deck, and hammock were amazing. Grateful for all the seating, including the chairs at the beach. Guests from ages 9 to 69 were entertained with swimming, beach walks, and freighter watching. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The house is every bit as wonderful as it looks in the photos. Spotlessly clean. Spectacular view of the lake that changes by the minute. Awe-inspiring sunsets. The beach is lovely and there are chairs down there for your use. There are a lot of stairs to the beach (SO worth it!) but keep that in mind if you have a physical issue that might keep you from using them. We've been gone over a week and I still miss the open, airy feeling of the house and the VIEW. This place is a gem!

We loved our week at Wavesong! The house is equipped with everything you need. The view of the lake is awesome and the beach area is so peaceful. A great place to unplug and enjoy nature.

Our family of six loved our stay at Wavesong cottage. Plenty of room for all of us to play games, toast marshmallows, sleep comfortably. The beach, while lots of steps, was easy enough for the youngsters.

Wonderful cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was spotless!!! The view and sunsets were gorgeous. I loved relaxing in the hammock. Master bedroom is beautiful. Would stay there again.

Spectacular Sunsets

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wavesong! The house was spacious and clean. We loved long walks on the beach as a family and just taking in the views of the lake.

The property was absolutely perfect for our family ages 12 to 73. It was fully stocked with plenty of bath towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser in the showers. The view was incredible from the back porch which is massive! Lots of seating with the comfortable sturdy Aderindeck chairs. The lil fire pit was perfect for smores on the evenings that were not too windy. The steps down to the beach were very sturdy, my 70 year old mother managed fine. Loved having a private beach, only neighbors down there and was nice to meet a few locals several houses down. There are a surplus of board games and cards for the whole family, we also enjoyed playing cornhole a set located in the foyer closet. Manistee was about 15 min away and Ludington about 35 to 40. There was no AC, being from Missouri shocked us at first but the lake breeze was perfect with the windows open AC was definitely not needed! Several fans in all the rooms so need to bring your own if you need a fan to sleep like some in our group. Couldn't be more impressed with quick response from Julie the host prior to arrival. Didnt need to contact her during our stay as e everything was perfect for our family. HIGHLY recommend staying at this beautiful cottage. Its off the beaten path which was perfect for us.

Much needed break

This place was perfect. My sister and I needed a getaway of peace and quiet and Wavesong was the perfect place. The beach was awesome and relaxing on the deck was great after a day on the beach. There was everything you would need in the house. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely home in a quiet area

The home was very clean and well taken care of. The view and the beach were beautiful. Plenty of store close enough to the home to get things. Well worth it.
