We had a wonderful stay in Chilmark. The property was beautiful, comfortable, and a perfect home base for our family time on Martha’s Vineyard. Nan was an absolute pleasure—warm, welcoming, responsive, and genuinely lovely to deal with. She made us feel right at home, like extended family. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend the property to anyone visiting Chilmark!

This property was perfect for our trip to the island. Close to Menemsha, but private. House is equipped with everything that we needed. Host was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Nan is the best host. She is very good at making sure everything is perfect for her guests. She knew it was my son’s birthday and made sure it was extra special. I hope to return again in the future. The house and property are perfect for a visit to the vineyard. All amenities are provided and the outdoor patio, shower and hammock we a hit with our family. Thank you Nan!

Quiet retreat in the woods....

Nan and Warren were excellent hosts, easy to contact and gracious in sharing their loving home. A perfect location if you love the quiet side of the island, my wife and I are looking forward to a return trip in 2026!

Wonderful family vacation

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful Chilmark home. Nan was easy to communicate with and incredibly accommodating. The house was clean, well equipped and perfect for our family. We can’t wait to go back!

Peace and privacy

We loved our stay! The property and house have everything you need. The hosts are very gracious and accommodating. Private, serene/peaceful; would definitely rent again.

Garden of Eden

One of the most beautiful spots you will find on Martha's Vineyard. Quiet, secluded, abundant nature, while convenient to Menemsha, Chilmark Store and Lucy Vincent. Nan and Warren are the best hosts. House is immaculate and offers every convenience. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic House and Property!

Staying at the Doty House was a wonderful experience! The house and yard are spectacular and all was immaculate and in strict Covid regulation order. It was a great location for access to Menemsha fishing and sunsets as well as the enjoyment of accessing Lucy Vincent and Squib beautiful beaches. Warren and Nan are the creme de la creme of hosts checking on any possible needs to insure our stay was perfect...AND it was!

Peace and solitude in beautiful Chilmark

My family of five enjoyed our stay at this home in Chilmark. The house fit us well and was lovingly decorated and very comfortable. We enjoyed the nearby beach, Lucy Vincent, the general store and tavern, and the charming town of Menemsha. Little things i especially appreciated are - separate den for TV, extensive book selection, including a lovely children’s section, games and toys for the kids, a separate laundry/office room, ample space to store clothes and suitcases and a great outdoor shower.

Peaceful retreat

The house and grounds were exactly as described in the listing, which is rare. Four adults with an occasional visiting grandchild were very comfortable in the space, and we made great use of the outdoor eating areas and hammock. The house was stocked with everything we needed. The hosts were extremely responsive. We highly recommend it.

Amazing and peaceful get away

We had the most wonderful time with our family at this amazing home in the woods. Everything was spotless, high quality simplicity and we could not have been happier. The owners are wonderful, friendly and kind who made sure everything was just perfect. The property has so much private land that it was a true getaway. Lucy Vincent beach is just over a mile away and it is now our favorite beach ever. Menemsha sunsets are beautiful with a bite to eat from one of the fish markets. We can’t wait to come back!

Check in was flawless. The house was ready, hosts had already communicated with us directions. The house was spotless, spacious and filled with amenities, including a piano, state of the art sound system (we preferred the quiet TBH). The kitchen was complete with high quality cookware, tools, microwave, toaster. oven, cousin art etc etc. We greatly appreciated the hospitality of Nan who answered any/every question promptly. Outdoor shower a plus (spotlessly clean) and note that the house stays cool day and night, with cross breezes, we used AC only one night.

Perfect vacation & location

The house was just as described - secluded, clean and perfectly situated both on MV and within Chilmark. We had the best week relaxing on the hammock, enjoying the deck and taking advantage of the nearby beaches and stunning hikes. A couple small things I really appreciated were the beach chairs, filtered water so not using water bottles and the Air Doctor to eliminate any stuffy air. Every room had a fan in the closet with I especially loved since o have a hard time sleeping without circulating air and white noise. We also loved the kids toys and plethora of books for both us and the kids. We had a chance to meet the owner as we were leaving and she was just as lovely as I imagined. Thank you for a wonderful stay and making us feel so welcome.

Relaxing week in this Chilmark gem

We were most comfortable at this clean and welcoming traditional New England home between Lucy Vincent beach and Menemsha. The hosts went out of their way to ensure our family had what we needed. From the wooded tranquility to the proximity to local favorites, we enjoyed it all. Thank you!

Great vacation in a beautiful location

Hands down the best rental we have stayed in. The property is lovely and secluded. The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked including with so many wonderful books and a hammock! Nan and Warren were outstanding hosts ….quick to answer random questions (know where we can buy a beach umbrella) to pointing out excellent places to hike and kayak. Thank you Nan and Warren for sharing your beautiful home with our family!

Great Up Island Getaway

Wonderful relaxing week

Great house with plenty of room along with a spacious yard. Everything we needed to cook, work jigsaw puzzles and relax on the deck. Very peaceful and quiet. Nan and Warren responded quickly with the few questions we had.
