Stargazer Cottage is conveniently located 2.6 miles from Stowe Village. Close enough to enjoy all of Stowe's amenities and attractions but away from the hustle and bustle. The cottage sits on 2 private acres with an idyllic lily pond surrounded by pines, maples, and oaks. The large grassy field is perfect for looking at the amazing night sky and enjoying the turning leaves. Little River access is a short walk through the back yard and provides swimming, tubing, and fly-fishing in the summer.

The cottage has a fully updated kitchen with new slate, appliances, and butcher-block countertops. A centrally placed island and a rustic table for 6 complete the space. The living area is the perfect place to watch your favorites on Netflix, Hulu, or Prime with plenty of room on the comfy sectional. And the large window has a view of an iconic Stowe church steeple. The large bedrooms each have a king bed and the smaller bedroom has a twin trundle that sleeps 2. The bathroom and powder room display rustic wood tile and brand new fixtures. A bath in the reclaimed claw foot tub is a great way to relax after a fun day of activities!

Three bedrooms, one-and-a-half-bathroom pet friendly house in Stowe. Location is great. My family of six adults and a dog stayed for three nights and had a great time.

Beware

The house is fine as long as you don’t have a problem. This was our 3rd (and last) time staying at the property. The management company is the issue. We arrived to a 54 degree home the day before Thanksgiving. 3-4 inches of snow on the ground, driveway not plowed or walkway and steps shoveled. The coffee table was pushed up against the couch and when we moved the table to sit on the couch there was potato chips and other food on the floor. We requested a refund due to the home being uninhabitable for the first several hours of our stay, and not reaching what they say is the temp the home should be at when you arrive (68) until after 11pm. That is when the excuses and attacks start. The management company’s strategy to avoid admitting errors or making things right is to attack the guest, blame them for not following procedures (we called the regular number to report the heat issue and left a message when the voicemail said they were still in the office and would return the call shortly- they said if it was truly an emergency we would have called their emergency number), and generally stonewall you. If you call to complain and follow-up on a refund request, they tell you to talk to x, but she is not in the office and will call you back (never called back). If you call again, they will tell you that you must talk to someone else. Final thoughts- be aware. This property is run by a management company that only cares about the bottom line and not the guest.

Amazing

The property was immaculate and exceeded our expectations. Our children has a blast exploring the property and we loved how close we were to the area shops and attractions. The staff was wonderful and very professional and helpful.

Another great stay at stargazer cottage

This is our 2nd time staying at this home. It is located close to downtown Stowe but feels private. We love the access to the dog friendly park just next door. The home is clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Check in and out was very easy. We will be back next year!

Clean and homey weekend stay

The house was everything we needed and we honestly felt at home. Cleanliness is important to us and the home was exceptionally clean. The home is well appointed and easy to access. It is driving distance to downtown Stowe, which is important to know if you are not familiar with the area. Ubers are almost nonexistent if that’s something you need. Be aware WiFi is very hit or miss, to be expected for the area, but easy to forget if you’re not used to it! Overall great experience and would choose this home again! The only feedback I would give is possibly putting some solar lights at the end of the driveway for nighttime as the driveway comes up suddenly and at an awkward angle until you get used to it!

End of summer getaway

Fantastic location to discover North Vermont

This was our first time visiting Vermont and a local friend had recommended we stay in Stowe to take advantage of what the area has to offer in the summer. We were not disappointed with fantastic trails, swimming holes and restaurants close by. The house itself was very comfortable for our week-long stay. We’re very much looking forward to the possibility of coming back.

Weekend in Stowe with friends.

We had a phenomenal stay at the Stargazer cottage and can’t wait to return one day. Very clean and well appointed home in the perfect location to enjoy all that Stow, Waterbury and the surrounding towns have to offer. We had a great time relaxing on the deck and fly fishing in the river directly behind the home. Well supplied and clean. Excited to return for skiing!

Family celebration

The property and location were perfect for our family celebration. Everything was clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Although we didn't use it much because it was cold, the outside area would have been perfect for a picnic around the pond, coffee on the porch or a game of catch in the yard. The only thing I can suggest is maybe a fire pit area. Everything else was wonderful - we hope to be back soon.

Great location

We were there for leaf peeping and the location was great. The lower rating was based on the property management company not the house or owner. The process to get the reservation was lengthy with several email reminders that I was interested in the reservation. The house was great! Everything the pictures showed. The kitchen was well stocked with things we did not know we might want and more but still room for things we bought for the weekend. The only negative if you can say that is the half bath was more fit for a child. Overall great house and location!

Excellent place to stay!

The property and the care in preparing the house was outstanding. Getting in and out was easy. Location was perfect. We enjoyed the grounds the Stargazer cottage had to offer as well as all of the comforts of home inside.

Great Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Stargazer Cottage. It was very clean and updated, and had everything we needed. During our stay we drove into town, walked on the Stowe Recreation Path (wonderful!), strolled through the shops, and took drives up into the mountains. The best, and most relaxing part, was taking the trail to the river and having our dog Ollie frolic in the water. We had brought “dog towels” from home and dried him off with those before going back to the house. We also loved the porch, just hanging out there. My husband did a plein air painting of the pond while we were there. We had to cut our stay short by one day to get home before hurricane Henri hit. We are planning to return – we’d love to be there in the Fall or Winter.
