The only thing missing from this fabricated review are the dinosaurs roaming the townhouse, or the aliens that come out every night. Last minute, the family wanted to change their agreed upon #'s, to a much larger group which would be illegal as per my HOA, and also my Short Term Rental Permit with the County. Explained this at length to guest, then her husband, and also her adult son who all contacted me to try and push their #’s. They also called VRBO to see if they could pay more to break the rules with an oversized group. I was not going to risk losing my rental permit because she wanted to bring a huge group as she was already at the MAX allowed. Offered solution and I found her a last minute, discounted 2nd unit in my complex through another owner. Thought that would have made them happy so they could split the oversized group and all stay in the same complex, but I guess I was wrong. For such horrible conditions, it’s odd that I was never contacted (and confirmed with VRBO) that they were never contacted during the entire stay. If a house was really this poor and her description was anyway accurate, I personally would have left, asked for refund, and contacted customer service with pictures and videos to prove the horrible conditions (they did not do any of these things, just left a false review). My handyman visited immediately and found absolutely zero mildew smell. My family has been visiting and using our family townhouse for 20 years, and it’s very sad that a person looking to break the rules can basically write anything they want because they had to pay for a 2nd rental. To all future guests reading this, please confirm your #’s in advance. We completely understand that last minute things come up and we will try to help you with a solution (most likely a 2nd townhouse) but we will not jeopardize what we have built over the last 20 years for an illegal rental for any amount of money.
