Hey there, I live in the Dallas area and have a few short term rental properties. My wife and I have been professionally hosting since 2015 as it compliments our full-time profession in real estate. I'm a firm believer that we are all in the hospitality business. Regardless if you are a teacher, lawyer, doctor, realtor, mechanic, plumber or salesman, if you want to do well you need to understand you are in the hospitality business first. Taking care of people and solving their problems. Real estate is a passion and hosting travelers from all over the world is a blessing.

My wife found Deepwater Retreat in 2015 and thought it was such a charming and adorable cabin right on the water. Plenty of room to spread out on the property and just minutes before your feet are in the water. The neighborhood is sweet. I know just about every neighbor and they know us. It's a sleepy community. Lake Lavon is a sleepy lake; not a party lake. We like it that way.
The peacefulness here is remarkable. When we don't have guests, I try to get away and just sit on the back porch and watch the sunset or get my feet in the water. Breathing in some clean air and getting away from the city is a beautiful things.
With that said, one of the things I love about this place is how close it is to everything you may "need". Jeff's BBQ, Pizza Getti, Burgers and Chile Loco, Milos Taco Food Truck, and Meteor Hamburgers are all great choices for food nearby. Additionally, there's a Wal-Mart, Kroger and Tom Thumb not to far as well. Uber Eats and Instacart also deliver if needed. Everything is close but not too close, as a previous guest explained.
