Beautiful setting for the cottage which was clean and well heated when needed. Very quiet and dark overnight, perfect for a peaceful retreat. The approach roads are classic Cornwall lanes, but are not too narrow as single track lanes go, we found them quiet and easy to navigate. Perfect for the two week stay for us. Very friendly and helpful host without being intrusive. A visit to Lansallos Cove is highly recommended!

This is a lovely cottage for couples or small families. Matthew made us very welcome and was a friendly and informative host. Cottage was warm with central heating and excellent hot water. Views are wonderful and apart from the occasional tractor the area is quiet and beautiful.

Location very quiet and rural. The roads are narrow to access the property, but there are plenty of passing places, we had no issues driving in and out.Spacious lounge and bedroom.Compact kitchen, a little dated. Shower/Toilet small.It was ideal for us exploring the coast path from Polruan to Rame head

We where met By Mathew on arrival he is a very friendly person and we had a nice chat ,he showed us around the place and we where very impressed with the place it looked clean and inviting. loved the layout with the ground floor bedroom and shower room . We also liked the upstairs bedroom ,it has everything you need for your stay. The whole place had a lovely vibe about it, the views where also great and the sunsets where brilliant. Loved it there and would not hesitate to go back. Matt was a great host we had many chats and laughs at his funny stories, also met the lovely dogs also his parents. We enjoyed our stay tremendously it was a great area to explore the local Towns and villages like Polperro and Looe and the Boddinick ferry to Fowey just up the road. Highly recommended and Thank you to Mathew and family for an enjoyable stay at Higher Polgassic Cottage. Tony&Karen and Mam.

Absolutely lovely cottage

Higher polgassic cottage is a home away from home. It has everything you can possibly need and beautiful views over farmland and moors. We all enjoyed the peaceful location and matthew was a super host.lots of local knowledge

Comfy Cottage

We're return visitors to the cottage and have enjoyed several lovely holidays there. It's located in beautiful countryside with Lansallos beach a short distance away. Great place to stay for walking and exploring. Thank you Matthew!

Ideal cottage in an ideal location

My husband and I stayed at Matthew's cottage for a little over two weeks and it was perfect! Very comfortable rooms, good kitchen (we made our own dinner on a few occasions), dishwasher, washing machine...most of the comforts of home but in an idyllic location of rolling hills and hidden coves. Close to great seaside towns and beautiful hiking by paths. We miss it and can't recommend it highly enough!

Lovely cottage

We loved this cottage. Surrounded by the most beautiful countryside and close to some lovely places to visit. Warm and cosy. Matthew welcomed us on arrival and has always answered messages quickly.

The Perfect Get-away

Having had a couple of hectic months we needed somewhere to relax and unwind and this place was perfect. Well equipped and with comfortable beds and seating plus a perfectly set-up kitchen it ticked all the boxes. We would not hesitate on returning.

The property is clean and spacious with everything you are likely to need. The location is perfect for getting around Cornwall with most places within an hour's drive.

Perfect Peaceful Retreat

We had a super week at Matthew's cottage. Lovely and quiet and yet within easy reach of plenty of activity if required. Everything was exceptionally clean and had all the necessary facilities to make our stay comfortable. Superb views are just a bonus! We will be back.

Peaceful location

A great place for a relaxing holiday. The cottage is in a great location. Surrounded by fields and countryside, and only about a 20-30 minute walk to the beach. There is a coastal path nearby with some great views. Property was clean and had everything that we needed. Matthew was a great host. I would recommend this cottage.
