Enjoy this barndominium on 10 private acres. 15 min drive to Custer State Park, 20 mins to Rapid City, and 30 mins to Mt Rushmore.

Open floor plan, high-end finishes, HUGE game room, dream-like master suite, & phenomenal views in all directions with stunning skies no matter the time of day. Your stay here will be an experience you'll never forget!

The Space:
You'll enjoy tons of natural light with uninterrupted views from the living room and sun room! The open floor concept plan easily accommodates large gatherings with a lofted area upstairs to keep everyone involved in the fun.

The extra large master suite is on the main floor and comes with a large walk-in closet (you could almost live in) and in and a phenomenal custom shower with 3 heads! Another bedroom along with 1/2 bath & laundry is on the main floor just around the corner.

The upstairs lofted area offers plenty of beds to accommodate large families. A kid's play area is just around the corner, with another bedroom sporting a queen bed and a bathroom close by.

Finally, come have a blast and enjoy the MASSIVE game room with air hockey, table tennis, foosball, corn hole, and much more!

(Outdoor cameras are installed on the property for security purposes.)

Guest Access:
You'll have access to everything minus the RV shop and a few storage areas.

The Neighborhood:
With only a 20 minute drive to Rapid City, 15 minutes to Custer State Park, and 30 minutes to Wind Cave National Park, 66 miles to the Badlands National Park, this is the prefect location for you to experience all the Black Hills has to offer! The house is just off of Highway 79. There are about 1.5 miles of gravel after leaving Highway 79.

The neighborhood is quiet and our property is on a private 10 acres that is fully fenced in and allows horses.

Getting Around:
19 miles to Wind Cave National Park, 10 miles to Custer State Park, 27 miles to Mount Rushmore National Monument. 23 miles to Reptile Gardens, 25 miles to Bear Country, 66 miles to Badlands National Park, 19 miles to Needles Highway Scenic Route, 35 miles to Black Elk Peak (formally know as Harney Peak), 19 miles to Rush Mountain Adventure Park.

Are you bringing a camper with on your trip? No problem! We have FULL hook-ups outside you can use for a small extra fee per night.

Property was one of a kind. We had all the amenities we needed for a.christmas vacation plus it had all the chrismas decorations needed to make it feel like home. The game room was a hit with the kids.

We loved the barndo! The kids that it was absolutely incredible. The parents loved the game room was closed off from the rest of the house :) Beautiful and peaceful location!

Perfect location

This home was a perfect spot for us to see all that the Black Hills had to offer. We enjoyed the game room, hot tub and massage chair. There was plenty of room for our whole group to relax and enjoy time together.

Great location and hosts!

This Barndo was wonderful and just as pictured! All the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very well stocked. The game room and additional gaming systems would be a huge hit with kids! We loved sitting outside, enjoying the stars at night and the sunrise in the mornings. The owners were very welcoming and helpful for any questions we had. This property is very close to Custer State Park which was the highlight of our trip. Amazing experience and we would stay again if in the area!

Thee perfect spot to explore South Dakota!

The Barndo made our family vacation! We spent the days exploring the Black Hills, Keystone, Hill City, Rapid City and surround areas. The location was perfect! The amenities were endless. It was so cozy and felt like home. My kids still rave about the game room! We will definitely be back!

The beautiful blue barndo vacation

Our unforgettable black hills vacation was enhanced with the incredible blue barndo vacation home of our dreams. The excitement of spotting it from the highway to walking through the front door and seeing all the amenities this place has to offer is something our families will always remember, and something our kids have been talking about since the minute we left. Kate and Eric have all the details thought out from an entire kitchen labeled, comfortable furniture and room for so many, to fully stocked closets with extra blankets, pillows and all things you could need. The house was completely clean and gorgeous and the patio displayed never ending rolling hills and breathtaking sunrises/sunsets every day. The kids enjoyed most their time spent in the movie room/game room area. While the parents soaked up beautiful weather on the relaxing patio, with zero mosquitos! We come from MN so this was a HUGE win for us! Everyone took a turn relaxing in the massage chair throughout our stay (wow what an added perk!) The Barndo was the perfect vacation for all the things we had planned as all the tourist attractions were about 30 minutes away. This helped with not having to travel too far with lots of young kiddos. We loved that it was “in the middle of nowhere” (as we called it) as you got the quiet country living (with amazing bright star gazing at night) and kept away from the hustle and bustle of the cities and hotels. I cannot recommend this place enough! We will be back!

Wonderful stay! Peaceful, well equipped and very accommodating hosts

This property was great! We have stayed at quite a few rentals and this place is top notch! They have made the property so user friendly! It has everything you could possibly need when it comes to cooking, sleeping, relaxing, etc. The kids couldn’t get enough of the game room and I wanted to stay in the massage chair and hot tub forever. My oldest’s favorite part of the trip was the time spent at the property playing corn hole. ;) We traveled with another family (4 adults and 6 kids) and it was nice having beds for each of the kids to sleep in individually. I would recommend a sound machine because it is an open concept in the loft area. At night it is so quiet on the property, just amazing! It is pretty central to all of the attractions. The corner pantry was nice to have up the road for anything we needed. We stopped in Rapid City to get all of our groceries ahead of time and that worked great.

Perfect Get Away

House was well set up for a family vacation. Plenty of things to keep kids busy on downtime from sightseeing. Views were incredible! House was well supplied with all the necessities.

Worth every penny! We'll definitely come back!

The barndo was the highlight of our trip! It was clean, spacious, and beautiful. Plenty of activities within the property, and just about twenty minutes from anything we needed. Local gas stations had a small selection of necessities. Rapid City was a short trip. Very close to the wildlife loop. Keystone, Custer, and Rushmore weren't more than an hour drive. Definitely check out Sylvan Lake and the Needles Highway. We even got in a round of golf at a beautiful and very affordable course near Custer. I would recommend this stay to anyone and we are definitely going to be making another trip in the future. 10/10. One of the best places we've ever rented! Plus the hosts were constantly in contact if we needed anything.

Beautiful home that has it all

Our family really enjoyed this home. The game room kept everyone busy and the massage chair was amazing. The kitchen had everything my chef brother needed to prepare 5 star meals every day. My favorite was the cows from the neighbors farm. They would come by and put on a show every evening. The calves were so cute. My daughter even joked about them being trained actors. Its been decades since we've been to SD and my adult kids have never been. This home played a big part in us wanting to return real soon. Thank u Kate for your prompt replies and for sharing this beautiful home with my family

Awesome place to stay!

Our stay here was awesome!! SOOO many activites under one roof!! The place was very clean and had QR instructions how to use things around the place! I loved how every thing in the kitchen was label for quick finding things as well as for when we were putting dishes away! The hot tub and massage chair were AMAZING for the our group of moms that took a weekend away here!! Would book again!

Practically Perfect in Every Way

What a blessing to have found Eric and Kate's Barndo! We could not have had a better stay. The Barndo is spacious, incredibly well appointed, super clean, and perfectly located for all of the Black Hills/Badlands adventures. I didn't reveal to the kids all of the perks, i.e. the massive game room, ping-pong, air hockey, foosball, video games etc. They could not believe their eyes when we walked in. My wife was equally impressed by the comfortable confines and high-end amenities. The Barndo is no more than 20 minutes from the middle of the Black Hills, but is just east of them, so access to Rapid City grocery stores and highway travel is extremely convenient. We've been home four days and someone has said they miss the Barndo every evening! That tells you how special this place is, when after long days of sightseeing and hiking, everyone was looking forward to getting "home" to play games and relax. Eric and Kate were prompt communicators, and a joy to deal with. When we go back to the Black Hills, we will be staying in the Barndo!

Excellent Choice!

This property was amazing and the hosts were so helpful! They certainly made an effort to make our visit the best that it could be! We appreciated the attention to detail and how the host provided what we needed with 3 little ones. The adults enjoyed the hot tub, massage chair, well-stocked kitchen, grill, large table for family meals, game room for family tournaments, and beautiful views. The house is central to so many activities that we were not able to do them all and will need to plan to come back again! Memories were made at this site and Kate and Eric did such an amazing job of taking care of us. You will not be disappointed!!

Relaxing and full of amenities

Excellent location for seeing everything! Fully stocked kitchen including air fryer and crockpot. Super good mattresses. Quiet, scenic views off beautiful, breezy patio with hot tub and grill. Amazing massage chair in master. Super clean. Wonderful, private property. We had three generations. Worked for everybody.

Great way to stay

There was plenty of room and entertainment for the 8 of us. We got snowed in for a couple days and had a blast there. Hosts are amazing and very helpful

Great place to stay!

We scrolled through a lot of options before making a decision on a property that 6 people could agree on! We are so glad this one was the chosen one! Everything was superb! The location was stellar, very central to a lot of things that was on our agenda. We enjoyed a lot of area from as far South as Hot Springs up North to Spearfish and everything in between. The hosts were easy to communicate with and accommodating. The house was very clean upon arrival. The property is exactly as it is described in the listing with a bonus: The sunrise and sunset views were beautiful! Our group cooked meals, played board games, used the game room, and enjoyed the hot tub! We recommend this property for a large group or a few families to share! We will definitely recommend this location to anyone visiting West River South Dakota. A huge thank you to the hosts!

Great Family friendly place!

This property was great for my family! We really just needed a place to entertain all of us in one location. The younger kids had a great time playing in the game room as well as some of the adults. There were toys for the little kids to play with as well. Plenty of space to sleep all of us, and keep us together or separate, whichever we preferred. There was information all over to help us with the message chair, hot tub, or fire pit. Would definitely stay here again! My 4 year old daughter was really sad to leave "the blue house", and wanted to move in!

Country Oasis

This is an amazing property! We stayed here with our family while visiting the Black Hills and found it to have everything we could want, plus some surprising bonuses. They definitely thought of everything! Tons of family fun that was great to come home to after enjoying the sights. We loved it so much we extended our stay just to make sure we could enjoy it all. Highly recommend. A beautiful retreat in a picturesque setting.
