The place was spotless, the grounds were maintained beautifully with gorgeous flowers. The view was the prettiest i have seen in Costa Rica!! The weather her is perfect. Cool at night and not too hot during the day. We loved it here!!

Amazing view

We stayed at this place for 3 days. The house is beautifully laid out to take in the picturesque landscape and the view was amazing. Vera and George very welcoming and attentive to everything we needed.

Beautiful home in a wonderful part of Costa Rica

This house is amazing. The house itself is beautiful, and the setting and views are breathtaking. And this part of Costa Rica, Orosi to be specific, is a gem. I hope to return to this house someday.

Beautiful mountain view

Relaxing and comfortable stay. Good communication from host. Be sure to follow the directions when driving to the house. Breakfast was delicious! We loved waking up with the birds in the morning!

A perfect weekend in the mountains.

Works can not describe how spectacular the view is from the house. The house is very comfortable and well situated. Our hostess went out of her way to make sure we had everything we need. I highly recommend ordering breakfast one day. We wish we could of stayed longer.

Lovely quite stay

Pictures don't do it justice! Fabulous views out every window. Calm and inviting decor, well appointed kitchen, cool nature-infused bathroom with a rain shower head. Vera can arrange massage, meal prep and other amenities. She was so helpful with suggestions of where to eat and what to do. Close to town but felt a world away. It was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed! We would definitely return to Casa Sofia.

Wonderful, relaxing stay!

Wow! What an absolutely perfect place to stay in the Orosi/Cartago area. The place was immaculately clean. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking. The view was INCREDIBLE!! The entire vibe of the place was unmatched by any other place I’ve stayed in Costa Rica. I will be back…SOON! We also enjoyed 90 minute massages by Mila. The caretaker Merari was so welcoming and lovely! Thank you, Vera, for sharing your home in paradise with us.

Bird watching paradise

We stayed for two nights and got up early each day to look at the birds. The location is beautiful, the views over the surrounding hills are amazing, and you can watch the parrots fly along the valley. The house has large picture windows and you can see the lights of Orosi in the valley in the evening. The house is bright and colorfully decorated and the kitchen has electric kettle, coffee maker, microwave, stove etc. and pots and pans if you want to cook (we ate out at Paraiso, about 15 minutes away).We did order the breakfast and the Tico breakfast was so huge that we saved some leftovers in the fridge for lunch. We cannot say enough nice things about this place.

Stunning View Peaceful Setting

There will not be enough beautiful things to say about Casa Sofia. The location is incredible. Situated on a rural farm 5 minutes from a major city – yet the mountain views and quiet setting make it feel like you are far from the hustle. Vera, the property owner, is kind and friendly and check-in/check-out were easy and seamless. Her home is beautiful – well equipped kitchen and lovely bathroom with natural light in the shower. There are mountain views from every room in the house. The high ceilings make it feel even more open to the outdoors. We visited Cachi Dam and Irazú Volcano – both worth seeing. Tip: buy tickets on-line for Irazú Volcano. We stayed 5 nights and wish we had stayed longer. Thank you Vera for sharing your home. We hope to return.

Casa Sofia is a wonderful property

Casa Sofia is a modern well appointed property that sits just below the crest of a hill. The views the southeast and south are absolutely stunning especially just after sunrise and approaching sunset. The mountains across the valley are lush and unspoiled. Photos really can’t do justice to the actual views from the property. The open concept living room, dining area and kitchen are good sized and four adults will not feel cramped. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. If you are going to cook, we recommend the Walmart in Cartago for staples and the Saturday farmers market in Paraiso for fresh fruits and vegetables. The beds are very comfortable and there is plenty of storage space if you plan to stay for more than a few days. Onsite washer and dryer worked nicely for us. The owner, Vera, was on the property while we were there. She and her staff were extremely responsive to our communications - either in person or via messaging. We highly recommend a stay at Casa Sofia.

Splendid Stay

If there is a perfect VRBO house, this is it. All details executed beautifully from architecture to management before even mentioning the exquisite location and vistas over the valley. Really appreciated the lovely fresh flower arrangement too. Highly recommend!

Breathtaking views

The villa is located high up in the mountains and the views from there are unbelievable. The property was beautiful and the owner and property manager were very prompt and helpful. Overall it was a great experience.
