3 Bedroom Home with Private Dock on the shores of Black Lake

Fully furnished 3 bedroom home with 2 full baths, easily sleeps 8. Gorgeous sunset views with two decks, gas grill, and lots of outdoor seating. Enjoy 100 feet of lake frontage with a private dock. Washer/dryer, dishwasher and fully equipped kitchen. Towels for kitchen, bath, and beach provided. Beautiful lakeside cottage for fishing, boating, kayaking, biking, antiquing and so much more. Located 30 minutes from Alexandria Bay on the East side of Black Lake. Sat-Sat full week rental only June, July, and August (no exceptions). The rental is closed for the season October-April.

A great lakefront property

Our third stay here; always the same as before-clean, private with the lake just steps away. If you like peace and quiet in a private setting, you can't miss with this property.

Beautiful peace and quiet

I lived in this area as a kid, but didn't know it was so gorgeous back in these coves. Bob's place is everything you want in a camp, surrounded by trees, right on the water, very peaceful in the late spring. We hope to come back

Black Lake 2020

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bob's lake house. The house was set up perfect for our family. Very clean. The property was beautiful, quiet, and private. The private dock was a huge plus too. Great swimming and fishing. No complaints!

Perfect cottage on the lake!

We have been coming here for years. This private cottage is so peaceful. The owner is very kind and makes sure you have everything you need. It is nice to have your own dock for your boat which is directly across the lake from main boat ramp. The view of the lake is perfect. We look forward to coming back soon.

Relax by the lake

Our family enjoyed a relaxing stay at this property by the lake. Possibly a bit secluded for some individuals but if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful location then this is a good match. Reviews from prior renters had us prepared for the nature of the (gravel) road to reach the property and the need to bring your own pillows, otherwise linens, towels, etc. were provided. The owner immediately responded to questions that I had prior the trip, so we were well prepared prior to our arrival. We wanted to fish on the lake, and I brought my small boat (15’) so having the private dock was essential and the state boat launch is directly across the lake. The fishing was tougher than expected, but it was our first time on this lake. One item that was of benefit was a folding cot in one of the bedrooms, as the upper bunk bed we found to be inaccessible. Overall, it was a positive experience and would consider as an option for future vacations.

Great place, great location.

Great small home for a vacation. Given our October visit, it was great to have heat. The washer and (especially) dryer were great to have in case it rained, although we didn't use them. There wasn't enough detergent to do a load, but we were only trying to start a load of towels as we left, so we didn't ask the owner for any. Great view of the lake and a nice dock that capably held our 2 boats in high winds and waves. Good beds, mostly good mattresses, plenty of blankets on the beds, plenty of towels and washcloths. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, but silverware was marginal (very small) and more is needed (we had to wash them by hand between each meal, except when we had enough dishes to run the washer.) The dishwasher worked well. Toilet paper was supplied, but there wasn't much when we moved in. Host Bob responded IMMEDIATELY when asked for more, and for more paper towels. Trash bags also scarce, but we didn't ask for more so can't complain. Comfortable couch and nice TV. Fridge, freezer, stovetop (gas), and oven all worked great. Propane grill had poor burners and didn't work for us. It wouldn't light. Nice touches, like night lights. I saw soap, but I didn't see shampoo (I had my own.) We were graciously allowed to check in early. We didn't know we had wi-fi for a day or two, but when asked Bob supplied the password and confirmed the network (which wasn't related to the host's name at all.) Fishing was poor, and we were told by another fisherman that this was unusual. Overall, a very nice stay and very responsive host.

Black Lake retreat

Very relating, fresh air and the water was accessible with the dock. Close enough for a lot of day trips to parks and local towns. Decks with chairs to watch the sun come up and then go down at night. Fishing was good too.

Almost perfect!

The location of the property was great but I wish I had been told it was over a mile of potholes rocky dirt road to get to it. I have an suv so I was okay but a low car might have trouble. The house was comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. They were a little low on silverware but we made do. I do wish the amenities listed would have included no pillows provided. All in all it was a great cottage and viewing the sunsets from the deck was absolutely beautiful!

House on the lake

The house was beautiful. Everything was great. Very well kept. Walk in and felt like home. Just relax on deck. Fishing was trouble but place made up for it. Next time only need to bring clothes. Hopefully we can get house next year. I would recommend this house but would like to keep it secret. Perfect slice of heaven

Nice location and great layout of the property and access to the lake

.Two of the windows looking out toward the lake were fogged up due to bad seals, so one could not see out through these windows. Otherwise, everything else was good.

Great getaway

This was our first time staying on the east side of the lake. It was so much more peaceful and quiet! Loved it! The house was very well-stocked with about anything you need. Awesome location! We had a wonderful week!

Wonderful accommodations

It was an absolute delight staying at this little Slice of heaven on the lake. The owners were very accommodating. This spot was very quiet and private. The cottage was so well equipped , we lacked for nothing. The cleanliness of home and property was impeccable. This was truly a hidden gem.

Private, spacious and a home away from home

This property is perfect if you value quiet times at the waters' edge. Lots of space, with all ammenities including a front and back deck and a dock right out front, a few steps away. Great views, and sunsets can be awe inspiring!

Remote and relaxing

This lovely lake house was perfect for our large family. We enjoyed fishing, canoeing and kayaking, cooking out, and spectacular sunsets. Several parks provided hiking and playgrounds for the kids. A drive to the town of Clayton was perfect change of pace when we needed one.

Great time bad fishing

The property was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Very quiet except for wildlife which was great to wake up to. The calm that was felt sitting on the lakeside deck watching the sun go down was priceless. All was great except for the fishing but maybe next time.
