New furniture, new modern appliances, vaulted ceilings, one bedroom, sleeper couch, fully stocked kitchen utensils, grill, deck, gorgeous view of lake, hiking trail around the 26 acre property.

Close to ATV and snowmobile trails. Jay Cooke State Park is close.

Fire pit with firewood provided.

Small lake is connected to another small lake. The second lake has a little storied history. Paddle boat, canoe, and kayak available to use.

Just a beautiful cabin. Additional pieces of furniture have been upgraded and not reflected in the photos. For example the deck now has a full sized gas grill and a bistro table for two.

Bedding and towels are provided.

Bring your food and the rest should be there waiting for you.

Property shares the common areas with a second cabin (occupied occassionaly by owner) and an RV.

Secluded Getaway

Excellent quiet location, well off the beaten path. Cabin was clean, well stocked and comfortable. Kitchen is setup very well, plenty of cooking utensils on hand. Quite a few games as well as DVD’s in the cabin as well as 2 smart tv’s and excellent wifi. Property is very wooded and has its own lake even! Jeff is a great host, would recommend and stay again!

A+ Place

Great place! It was super clean, attractive furnishings, provided everything we needed for cooking, eating, sleeping, bathing and enjoying ourselves while we were there. The friendly owner has done a wonderful job creating this peaceful, comfy place. We plan to return return to enjoy more time relaxing at this quiet hideaway.

Perfect Nature Get Away!

This property was better than we expected it would be!! A private lake on property and the perfect sized fire pit. Highly recommend staying here!!

Wonderful stay!

Loved it! After traveling to Duluth, it was nice to relax in nature with our dogs. We enjoy the outdoors so this was the perfect place for us.

Excellent stay!

This property was exactly what we were looking for! It was a great set up for our family and was in a picturesque location. It has all the amenities- the board games, provided coffee, and pancake mix were a great touch! We are definitely planning on requesting to use this property again!

Nice getaway

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, this is a great location, property, lake etc. Not too far from the Twin Cities but feels like you are so far away.

What a wonderful place to stay for a few days after our wedding! Nice and quiet and the cabin was very clean! Everything was also well-stocked in the bathroom and kitchen! Wish we could have stayed longer!

This cabin is modern, clean and quiet. The host has thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, and still enjoy all the comforts of home, consider this location.

Perfect quiet getaway

This is the perfect place if you're looking for a quiet place deep in nature. Not far from parks and Duluth and the price is tough to beat. The cabin is beautiful and has all the modern conveniences. I will likely come back again.

Perfect Cabin

Jeff was an amazing host. The cabin sits on a little lake just 45 minutes from Duluth. We enjoyed the clean and roomy cabin for our family of four. Our kids were able to go out on the lake on a small boat and we enjoyed exploring the property. We look forward to booking again!

Perfect!

The cabin was very well done and so clean. Every item was of high quality and every thing a person could need was supplied. The owner is in another cabin on the property but we felt like we were the only ones there. Beautiful property and well kept. Love that we were able to bring our dog. We hope to stay there again.

Exceeded expectations

This was a perfect landing spot as we were traveling back to the Twin Cities from several days on the North Shore. The little cabin compound was located convenient to Jay Cook, Moose Lake and Banning State Parks, where we did great day hikes. In the evening we used the kayaks (provided!) to paddle around the small, non-fishing lake. The cabin was clean, well appointed, inside and out, with a really nice shared firepit area. We enjoyed our getaway and would not hesitate to rebook another stay.

A 4 night getaway!

A lovely cabin/house! So homey! It will be great when the quality of the water is fixed. (We were encouraged to bring bottled water for drinking and cooking.) The only thing missing is another mirror in the bedroom or bathroom (for short people).

Great weekend getaway!

We had a wonderful weekend staying here. The cabin clean and well-cared for, with beautiful hardwood floors and a lot of natural light. The kitchen is well-equipped and has better appliances than we have at home! The pancake mix provided was delicious. We ate breakfast overlooking the small lake, and enjoyed just relaxing in the adirondack chairs on a tiny island in the middle of the lake. Jeff, the host, came by to welcome us to the property and gave all sorts of tips of what was nearby. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend away with easy access to both Duluth and some state parks, we recommend staying here!

Nice Stay

Cabin was very clean and well supplied although we were a little unprepared for the iron content of the water, next time we will be sure to bring an ample supply of bottled water. Jeff was very helpful and offered a lot of information on local amenities. There was another couple staying in a 5th wheel on the property and we were a little surprised at that given that there was no mention that there would be other guests other than possibly the owner.

Grandma’s Race weekend 23

Visiting for GM race weekend and some time away from home. Reasonably priced, lovely cottage rental. Husband was able to fish while I was doing race activities. Pet friendly. About 40 minutes into Duluth so we did some back and forth but we knew the locality when we reserved. Well kept, clean and exactly as advertised. Friendly host who offered assistance if needed. We would definitely book again. Thank you, Jeff, we were pleased with our booking!

Lovely cabin & location

Had an early autumn personal retreat weekend here; a perfect spot for it. I'm a vrbo veteran and this property did not disappoint. Parked right next to the entry door, so convenient! Very clean, with comfy furniture (not always the case!), VERY fluffy bath towels, good kitchen setup for my minimal food needs. Bed was comfy for me, but I wonder if it might become a 'deep valley' with 2 sleepers. The interior feels so open and large; loved the views of the little lake. The owner's place is down the hill close to the lake; an RV rental is at the same hill level as this cabin, and there's another rental a little up the incline. All were occupied, and all are far enough away not to feel weird about neighbors. Appreciated the thoughtful touch of the privacy screen on the deck, perfectly blocking the view of the RV. There are nearby train tracks with trains 2-3 times per day. Not a problem as I love the sound. They're just far enough away to not be invasive. Great place! Thanks for making it so nice!

Thoughtful attention to details abound

Stayed here 6 days while visiting relatives in the Moose Lake area. Really a neat place! The picture and description we had when we booked do not do it justice. Here's a walking tour. Park your car at the front door. Go inside (probably unlocked, but you can lock it from within). There's an entryway and connection to a bright living room with good cross-ventilation. The walls and ceiling are beautifully paneled in knotty pine. The furnishings are quite nice, even stylish. There's an eating area at one end of the living room and a kitchen. Very nicely stocked with good-quality cookware, a basket for produce or baked goods, microwave, Amazon Echo device (shut if off if you have privacy concerns), fridge, pancake mix, coffee, and many nice touches, including good cutlery, cutting boards, glasses, plates. Heat and AC are supplied by a modern minisplit system, and I think a baseboard system too for winter heat. The system is digitally controlled using hand-held remotes separately in the living room and bedroom. Flat panel TVs/DVDs. There are two ceiling fans in the living room, and it does have high ceilings. Nothing about this is crowded, nor does anything scream "cheap". Not opulent, either: there is no dishwasher, but it IS a cabin, right? There's a door form eating area to a deck which features a high-quality gas grill and picnic table. The bedroom can be accessed from the living room. There's a separate deck on the side of the bedroom, but this was blocked by a lamp table during our visit. There is a chest of drawers and closet in the bedroom and plenty of hooks for jackets and hats near the doors. There's a bathroom with shower and tub. This part of the country has high iron content in the water, and the owner is installing an iron filter. Meanwhile, bring lots of drinking water. From the living room, there is a stairway to a basement/garage. Here is a spare bathroom for emergencies and more importantly a washer/dryer. The lake is small but pretty. There is another cabin of comparable size; the owner was occupying that one during our visit. The owner does book a trailer home on this site, but it's not shabby...sits next to its own deck about 100 feet from the cabin we used. The people staying there were friendly. The owner, Jeff, is super and takes great interest in this property. It IS remote, but the store in Duquette (4 miles) has supplies. We also recommend The Mermaid cafe in Askov (about 20 minutes).
