Amazing Log Cabin with Beautiful Views at Apple Canyon Lake
Enjoy our cabin "Fox Ridge Getaway" with your family or friends. Beautiful wood cabin with open loft, immediately feel relaxed in the Amazing Great Room. This cabin really makes you feel miles away with its gorgeous views of the countryside. Lower level has a bar. Nice back deck for grilling and visiting. Sit around the campfire at night, located in the back yard. Trail close to property for walking/hiking. You will have access to lake amenities, pool and beach, with tags provided. Upstairs loft has a shower. Lower bath has a tub.
We try to supply some firewood for our guests as a perk, but it is not guaranteed. T.V. is dish network. Internet is Fiber-link (250 Mbps), usually very good, but in the rolling hills of Apple River Canyon, at times it is not, so make appropriate plans if this is a must.
The charming town of Galena only 15 miles away. Small towns in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin within a 20 minute drive. Wisconsin is only 10 miles to the north.
Apple Canyon State Park, 10 miles away. Very nice scenic views. Multiple hiking paths. Worth your visit if you like the outdoors.
Don't feel like cooking every meal. One of our favorites, Old School Saloon, Scales Mound IL, 6 miles away. Excellent pizza and sandwiches. They have a 4.8 star rating for a reason. Need delivery, Thriving Thistle Market in Apple River delivers. Their sandwiches are excellent. Pizza is good. You can dine in as well.
Wonderful little town of Shullsburg, Wisconsin. (established in 1827, one of the oldest in Wisconsin) only 13 miles to the north. The restaurants in this small town are second to none. You won't be disappointed. We love visiting this small town.
We have other hidden gems that we recommend and share with our guests upon check in, including "Gravity Hill", 12 miles to the north in Wisconsin, you will be laughing as you roll backwards, uphill???
No Smoking, No parties, No bachelor or bachelorette parties. NO PETS. Maximum guests 8. Minimum age of primary renter is 25.
We cannot lock in dates until deposit is received. Same date requests will be given to the first person securing it with a deposit. Three night stays are required during holiday weekends.
Check in is 4:00 p.m.. Check out is 11:00 a.m.

The property was wonderful, exactly what we expected from the listing. We under utilized the available amenities & we will probably return to use the beautiful lake, swimming pool, firepit, etc. We had a great time & we loved the our home away from home!

This cabin was a perfect getaway for my family. Super clean and information left for us was very helpful. Tons of space for gathering together. The basement floor level offered an additional area for people to gather and watch tv. Very easy to use access passes for pool and beach areas. Hidden gem by the pool area was the dragonfly fairy garden and tower.

We had a quick relaxing stay. The cabin was very clean and easily assessable for a wedding we were attending in the area. It was lovely and the hosts were easy to communicate with.

The log cabin met our needs for the weekend very well. We were attending a wedding at a venue nearby. The hosts were very accommodating and had a lovely welcome basket waiting for us. The instructions and tourist tips were very helpful.

Cabin was beautiful and the perfect getaway for our family ski trip at Chestnut Mountain. Comfortable beds and linens, hosts were very hospitable, and kitchen was well-stocked.

We enjoyed our stay for our daughter's wedding. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed and it was a lovely cabin. I didn't realize there wasn't a shower on the main level bath or no bathroom located in the basement and that was purely an oversight on our part. It all worked out ok because we were family but might be a problem for some.We loved being able to use the ACL pool to relax the day after the wedding. Very nice facility!Thanks again!

I would recommend this cabin to anyone staying in the Galena area. It rained quite a bit during our stay, and the cabin was exceptionally clean and very comfortable for playing board games and hanging out on the covered porch during the rain.The hosts were easy to communicate with and had a great list of recommendations in the welcome book. A couple things to keep in mind - while there is cookware and a grill, you’ll need to bring your own Tupperware, cling wrap, or other food storage containers as none were provided or left from previous guests. The flooring in the basement bar area had also been ripped up before our stay and made the room less accommodating than the photos suggest. Not a big deal or any reason not to stay here, but something to be aware of when planning or shopping for the trip.

This house was perfect for a winter girls weekend! Plenty of room to spread out, play board games, eat, and watch chick flicks!
