Información de la propiedad
Kezar Lake 4-Bedroom 4-Season House w/Easy Access to Pleasant Mtn/Sunday River
Enjoy this lakeside cabin just 20 minutes to Pleasant Mountain Ski Area and 45 minutes to Sunday River Ski Resort. Also within 40 minutes of Cranmore and less than an hour from Attitash, Wildcat and Black Mountain of New Hampshire. There are local nordic skiing opportunities at Lake Kezar Country Club just 5 minutes away, Five Fields Farm in Bridgton, Stark’s Mountain in Fryeburg, and other options a bit further away in Bethel, North Conway and Jackson NH. Our new Vermont Castings gas stove will help to keep you toasty after your days of winter fun.
The living space is newly updated but still simple, with wood and tile floors throughout and natural wood accents. Open concept living, dining and kitchen area. Main bedroom with vaulted ceilings and full bathroom adjacent. Plus three more bedrooms and another bath with large shower stall.
Washing machine and dryer are included. Wifi. Cable TV with DVR. Roku streaming. Retro VHS player with kids' movie collection. Turntable with "vintage" record collection.
There’s a storage rack on the dock for the provided canoe and kayaks. Drop your paddlecraft of choice in for a sunrise or sunset paddle. The Kezar Lake Marina is conveniently located for boat rentals. Or you can launch your own boat at a nearby boat launch and tie it up to our dock for the duration of your stay. Kezar Lake is well known for bass, trout and salmon fishing.
The town of Lovell, Maine, should be on everyone’s bucket list. Nine-mile long Kezar Lake runs the length of Lovell, north to south (“from Stoneham to Stow,” as they say). Lovell has a great low-key golf course, the Lake Kezar Country Club, with the first nine holes designed by renowned golf course architect Donald Ross back in the 1920’s. It has Ebenezer’s Pub and Restaurant, adjacent to the second hole, with outdoor seating, a screened in seating area, and a nice little pub. It has a few small markets with character, including Rosie’s with a breakfast/lunch counter and the Center Lovell Market for essentials. It has two town beaches you can paddle or drive to, including one with a stunning view of the lake and mountains. And it has local walking/hiking options for families, including the Greater Lovell Land Trust’s Chip Stockford Reserve, a short walk or bike ride down our dirt road, and Sabattus Mountain, a small hike with a big view. The charming Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library is in Lovell Village, with two tennis courts and a children's playground behind it.
Numerous other big and small hiking options are within striking distance, ranging from easy walks into mountain waterfalls where you can swim, to 4,000 footers, to Mount Washington itself. The tallest mountain in the Northeast, Mount Washington also can be summited by car or cog railway.
This house is 25 minutes to Bridgton, which has a Hannaford supermarket, small shops and restaurants, Renys ("A Maine Adventure"), the Magic Lantern cinema, the Bridgton Twin Drive-In for a throwback experience, and Shawnee Peak Ski Area at Pleasant Mountain. It’s 20 minutes to Fryeburg, home to Maine’s Blue Ribbon Classic (the Fryeburg Fair) held the first week of October, Saco River canoeing, a section of the Mountain Division Rail Trail, a small supermarket, candlepin bowling for rainy days, a covered bridge and a cool little coffee shop (Fair Grounds Coffee). 35 minutes to North Conway, gateway to New Hampshire’s Mount Washington Valley, and home to many outlet stores. And 45 minutes to Bethel and Newry, home to Sunday River Ski Area.
We’ll leave a notebook for you with lots more unsolicited opinions about what there is to do. Not to mention some board games, puzzles and books to help you enjoy the simple peace and beauty of this special place.
