Original Twizel Bach - Pet Friendly

Welcome to our bach in the heart of Twizel, New Zealand. Twizel is a hidden gem known for its stunning landscapes, clear skies, and proximity to some of the most incredible natural wonders the South Island has to offer.

A warm and classic kiwi batch, just a short stroll from the town center. Each bed has a light blanket, mattress protector and pillow. All linen, towels etc will need to be provided by guests. Due to needing to supply your own linen this Bach may not be suitable for oversea’s traveler’s.

Our pet friendly Bach is safe and secure for small and large animals. We have installed a small dog and cat friendly door for easy indoor and outdoor access. Even the most determined escape artists will find it impossible to slip through. Your pets are warmly welcomed to relax and feel at home indoors and outdoors.

So we did not end up staying the two nights we had paid for. The place was quite dirty and not cleaned at all. We didn't realize that linens and towels were not provided and since we were international travelers it was very difficult to find any around the area. The host never reached out about check in instructions and I had to reach out to get any information and then when I reached out about the condition of the place the host never responded back. I wouldn't recommend this rental as our experience was quite miserable and rough all in all. We had to find last minute accomodations because of the state of this property.

Sad to report that we found the bach rather shabby and unwelcoming. We had expected a basic bach (no problem with that) but it was more rundown than we expected, and we found it dusty and untidy, with a wet dirty handtowel in the kitchen. There was no firewood in the house and no kindling or firestarters so we struggled to get the fire going. There was also no information sheet with any extra information about using the bach (e.g. how to get onto the wi-fi). We did appreciate the handy location and the fenced yard for the dog.

The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a powerful electric heater, but to warm up the bedrooms you need to keep all the doors open. There’s also a wood burner, but the air regulator wasn’t working properly during our stay.

We ask if there was a BBQ and was told there is one but it was due to be replaced should of been replaced along time ago. We went to use it and it was covered in fat and rust, the bunners were rusted out and the gas hose o ring was all cracked. Was really unhappy as we planned on having a BBQ dinner and couldn't. Next problem was the fire place we had to have to door open to get the fire to work as soon as we closed the door it went out. The wood was wet and took ages to light had to dry the next pieces out on top of the fire before putting it in.

Love twizel, beautiful place to stay.This wee bach was perfect. Easy to find, plenty of room for the dogs, close to the shopping centre. The fire was so cosy.Thanks for having us and i hope to be back!

Getaway fishing break

What a gr8, basic, kiwi bach!. Everything that we needed and was as described. Well insulated and easy to keep warm with log fire and heater. Brilliant shower. And dog friendly. Well done and thank you.

Relaxing & quiet stay

Single beds a bit uncomfortable.No TV - possibly due to a freeview satellite upgrade?Otherwise worked well for us.Would come again.

The property suited our needs perfectly. Only thing we could have done with is a hot tub as we were aching like hell but you cant have everything :}. Would definitely stay again

Booked it for 2 nights , 5 of us 1.5 toilet roll provided , no laundry detergent , No wifi , no table or chair outside Pretty average to be honest , the place is cheap to rent and pet friendly apart from that not a lot of bang for your bucks , at least four square made some extra cash selling us toilet rolls ! good for the local economy

cozy? Not at all

Poor. It is actually outrageous to offer such accommodation under this name. Only the bathroom was actually renovated and corresponded to the expectations that one can expect as a tourist in New Zealand for this price. Everything else, the beds, the kitchen equipment, the furniture, the broken window pane in the kitchen, the torn curtains on the window and the overall impression of the accommodation were really miserable and, in retrospect, off-putting for us. The fact that travelers have to bring their own bed linen is also unacceptable. Only the ancient radio with decent music helped us to put up with it for one night.
