Secluded, tranquil setting, offering rural views beyond landscaped garden with stream and waterwheel.

Close to Ruby Bay coastline, Kina Peninsula (golf course) - 5 mins drive, Mapua cafes, bars (10 mins), gateway to Able Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks. An excellent place to relax away from the hustle and bustle or use as a base from which to explore.

Perfectly located for the Great Taste Trail.

Nice and quiet with beautiful gardens

Loved our stay here, not far from Abel Tasman National Park and the place itself was super cute and comfortable.

Lovely place. Very comfy bed, has everything needed.The surrounding gardens particularly delightful.We lived our stay.

We loved the location and the cottage itself - lovely setting, handy to all sorts of interesting places and also nicely rural. Ali and Peter are wonderful hosts, very friendly, interesting and with good ideas for local activities. Definitely hope to return some time.

Ruby Bay home is a gem!

A beautiful garden setting indulges the senses and quiets the mind. Peter was such a good host - even brought in my bags for me. Was refreshed after a great night's sleep. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Stay

Peter was a super host and our only regret was not staying longer. So many things to see and do and proximity to public and natural areas was great while at the same time the location of the property had us feeling like we were in a private world all our own. Highest recommendation!

Cute and cosy Cottage and amazing gardens

Host was friendly and greeted us upon arrival. Loved the gardens, my dream property!! Was nice to walk around the paths and lay in the hammocks in the shade. Had everything you needed for an overnight stay. Freaky bugs at night but apart from that everything was perfect.

Very comfortable and friendly

Away from the hustle and bustle and in amongst a creative and peaceful garden is this beautiful cottage. Every home comfort was provided, with taste and style. Well appointed cottage for the afternoon sun, and for breakfast on the deck. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Waterwheel Cottage

Friendly hosts in Ali and Pete who did everything possible to make my stay a wonderful one. Will definitely be back, but this time with my wife so we can enjoy the beautiful property and surroundings together. Highly recommended.

Amazing Setting

Super easy process, very friendly people. Had a lovely muffin waiting for us and the lights and heater were already on for a very lovely welcome. The morning was beautiful with the birds and the willow tree and little bridges over the creek. Well recommended!

Beautiful relaxing location

Very welcoming, a refreshingly green piece of paradise after 5 days in sunny Abel Tasman. Only regret is we had such a flying visit. Thank you.

Property is beautiful.

Property is beautiful. Bed is very comfortable. Extremely relaxing place to spend a few days. Town of Mapua is not very far away and makes a nice place to visit. Kitchen is a bit make-shift, but there is enough to cobble together an acceptable meal. I would recommend staying here to anybody and would definitely come back when visiting the area again.

Sweet escape

I took my partner here and a quiet, romantic get away. The space was lovely, and the hosts added beautiful touches that made things extra nice. The property was beautiful, and they were open and available to answer any questions if need be. I would come back again to this special little oasis.

Excellent relaxing stay in quiet rural spot.

Really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, the rural outlook lovely and the hosts very friendly indeed. It's very convenient for Golden Bay, Abel Tasman as well as Nelson.

Wonderfully relaxing

I am so glad to have found this beautiful spot. The perfect location for a restful retreat. The grounds are stunning and well-designed with a choice of quiet spots to sit and read or watch the local wildlife. Excellent hospitality from hosts Pete and Ali. I will definitely be returning!

Great spot with great hosts!

Really had a blast during our quick stay at Peter and Ali’s. We were lucky enough to get a tour of their amazing property and meet the goats and chickens. They are so hospitable and nice. Would definitely stay again next time I’m passing through. :)

Waterwheel Cottage is the perfect place to stay. The cottage is in beautiful grounds, so peaceful, with plenty of wildlife to enjoy. The cottage inside is warm and sparkly clean with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The location was perfect, central to everything and I couldn’t fault anything. I 00% totally recommend Waterwheel Cottage and if I could I would go back again tomorrow.
