It's been our dream to live on one of the Twin Lakes for many years. Our family of six now lives on South Twin Lake and we absolutely LOVE IT!!! The Twin Lakes in Howe Indiana are some of the cleanest lakes in the entire state! Each lake has an inlet, outlet, and they are both spring-fed. We know that you will love it too!

Keep in mind, this is a nonsport private lake. This is a perfect spot for your family to swim, fish, kayak, and just relax. There are no speed boats or jet-skis on this lake.

Our home on North Twin Lake has 4 bedrooms and sleeps up to 11 people!!! There's a LARGE kid's bunk room that sleeps 5!!! There's a floor to ceiling glass patio room that faces the water that you can enjoy year-round. There's plenty of parking with a two-car garage and a parking pad out front. The lake is only a few steps from the back door!!! You can even see the adjoining South Twin Lake from numerous rooms in the house.

We have kayaks and paddleboards that are available for a small weekly fee!

We are only an hour from Kalamazoo Michigan, South Bend Indiana, and Fort Wayne Indiana, and only 15 minutes away from Shipshewana Indiana. You'll get to know some of our Amish neighbors when you visit Shipshewana. Shipshewana has a flea market and authentic homestyle Amish cooking, and even carriage rides available.

The 80-90 Tollroad is about 10 minutes from the house. Shopping is conveniently located 15 minutes north in Sturgis Michigan where you'll find a Walmart, Meijer, Walgreens, CVS, Dollar General, Kroger, and many restaurants.

We now have High Speed Internet! Enjoy the free wifi!

Our home is smoke-free and pet-free and we vigorously disinfect the entire home after every visit. We wash ALL linens and bedding, including comforters, after EVERY guest. Every surface is disinfected with Clorox wipes. We also provide hand sanitizer for your use.

Parking for up to 3 cars free. No street parking available.

Host was easily accessible and immediately attended to our one need. Home very comfortable for our family getaway. Kitchen could be a bit better stocked for those who like to cook. Kayaking was pleasant. Location worked well for visiting family in Sturgis as well as childhood home in Topeka and locations throughout LaGrange County and southern Michigan.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the lake house! Beautiful view! The house was very clean with plenty of room. Loved the screened in porch! And really enjoyed being around the fire in the evenings too!

North Twin Lake

Super clean and great communication with owner grandkids loved the lake super clean and plenty of fish. Rental of the pontoon boat was a huge hit and very nice of the owners to offer. We give it a five star rating.

The inside of the house was spotless and appreciated. The screened in porch was covered in spider webs; to the extent I’m not sure it had been cleaned since spring. I inquired about the grill and owner replied it was a propane grill. The tank was filled but sitting about 7-8 feet from the grill and not connected. I’m unable to lift anything that heavy and not comfortable connecting it. So no grilling for us. I lifted the grill hood to inspect and I sincerely doubt it has ever been cleaned. The house is pleasant and laid out nicely. Kids loved swimming, kayaking and paddle boards.

Shipsy Exploration

Four couples in 50/60s. We had a great time even though the weather didn’t cooperate. There have been upgrades done since the photos in the listing. The only thing we needed and didn’t have was a pizza tray and cutter. But there was a bread knife that worked. I was surprised that in our group two couples were willing to take the room with the bunk beds, because of the view from the window!The swans were nice to sit out back and watch.They have nice sheets and towels. The beds were above average sleeping. You even see an Amish buggy go by every once in a while. Lisa was very nice to communicate with.

Shipshewana Lakehouse

Property interior was clean and nice. All as advertised. Communication with owner was easy and entry was simple. Outside was a little messy with spider webs and debris. And very little parking. But all in all it was a nice place.

Quiet lake full of fun

The host was so responsive and caring. We loved the clean, quiet lake, and we enjoyed every aspect of the lake activities:pontoon boat, fishing, paddle boards, kayaks, swimming, and floating.

Perfect getaway

We had a great stay at this property. The home was clean, we had plenty of room for all 10 guests, and the layout was perfect for the guests in my party that cannot do stairs.

Roomy and well appointed

The lake is quiet, peaceful and beautiful. The house easily accommodated our family of eight and would have fit a few more. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of pans, bowls, utensils, etc.. The house includes several spacious gathering areas, including the kitchen, living room, and a screen porch.

Great Place.

We did enjoy ourselves. Just couple issues; A black cat our entire stay was in the yard, when we moved in the garbage can was full with 2 bags setting outside the can, moved in on Saturday no garbage pick-up until Wednesday. (3-1/2 days with no garbage pick-up) Last blinds is kitchen broken when we moved in so I took pictures of the blinds & garbage. With that said we'd still stay there again. Thanks-you!!

Family Fun Week

We had great weather. Was in the 90's all week but the breeze off the lake and the shade on the property made it perfect. If you like to fish the lake was ideal. Caught some really nice size bluegills in the 9 to 10 inch range. Once we located them. Just off the pier our 5 year grandson caught fish for the first time ever. Lots of younger bass up on shore made for fun catching. Water very clean. Spent lots of time in it with the whole family just floating and tubing. Very quite lake very relaxing. Inside very roomy and clean never seen one bug inside.Hope to be back again soon.
