Get away from the stress and strain of life at this romantic mountain cabin.
Private Mountainside Getaway nestled among the cedars of the Mission Valley mountainside, this newly-renovated cabin is a refreshing destination, a romantic getaway, or a cozy home base for a Montana adventure. At the end of a private road, 1/8 mile from the main house, it is completely secluded.
Easy to get to, but completely off the grid, this clean cabin is comfortable night and day with electric heat / air conditioning. Features full-size washer and dryer, and full-time wifi.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the covered balcony -- in your pajamas, if you like! Relax by the creek as you watch the water tumble over the rocks, explore the shaded cedar groves and ferns along the mossy creekside, and let the stress of busy life melt away as you breathe the clean mountain air.
Make dinner together in the full-size kitchen, grill on the patio (propane grill provided), or call a local restaurant for delivery.
2 bedroom, 1 bath, enclosed garage parking, full kitchen, laundry, and wifi.
Upstairs features vaulted ceilings with timber beams. Main livingroom, kitchen and dining for 4 are upstairs as well as the bathroom/shower. The balcony overlooks a small pond and fish hatchery that houses Westslope Cutthroat trout during spawning season. Upstairs bedroom has a king size bed with vanity sink and large closet.
Bedroom on lower level has a queen size bed, full size couch and television. There is also a cozy reading nook on the lower level as well as a washer and dryer.
Accommodations are on 160 acres of private land with a creek and walking trails just outside the door. Surrounding area is tribal wilderness.
We live in the main house 1/8 mile away and work from home so are available to answer questions or offer assistance at anytime.
We have been off the grid for over 25 years. The hydroelectric generator provides power for three houses so there are a few guidelines regarding use of the high power consumption utilities (oven and dryer).
During the winter months we do our best to maintain the road but do recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle.

What a wonderful location! The cabin was clean and welcoming, as was the host. We especially loved the brook running next to the outdoor seating area. Would highly recommend!

This place is a real treasure.Like an old-timey pirate treasure, a bit difficult to find, even with printed directions and GPS, but worth it for three days and nights in August 2026.It sits high up on a mountainside, surrounded by trees, with a stream flowing audibly nearby giving a relaxing feel. Sitting on the deck, we twice saw deer running by. Fortunately, nothing appeared to be chasing them lol.From the outside, it resembles a Scandinavian or Russian log house. Inside, a thoroughly modern home-away-from-home.Our hosts, Nancy and Rick, were great! Upon arrival, we found that we had forgotten to bring milk for coffee and cereal. They literally went the extra mile (maybe more) to get us some so we did not have to have our coffee black or our granola dry.Exactly as advertised, maybe better.

This cabin is beautiful, very clean and thoughtfully supplied with everything you need! The setting is very quiet and private. The property is in the Mission Mountains and is very beautiful with many trails to hike which have spectacular views of the valley below. The hosts are wonderful and very responsive. We stayed for 19 nights and loved it! We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect cabin to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The cabin is remote and the area is beautiful. Highly recommend if you like seclusion and nature. Nancy and Rick were exceptional and the communication was great.

Perfect Getaway
Everything was perfect. Place was clean, hosts were nice and helpful and the location was beautiful. This place exceeded our expectations. We loved it!

This rental was perfect in every way from the host to the property itself. They have provided everything you could need. The views are exquisite. It is private, quiet and oh so peaceful. We loved it here.

Janelle and her husband were super great guests! Communicated well and kept all the house rules. Left the place very clean when they left. Highly recommend them to other hosts.

We rented this as we were attending a wedding at the Sky Ridge Ranch outside of Ronan. It is a beautiful spot with comfortable beds and has everything you need. I wish we could've stayed and done a little hiking.

Beautiful Mountain Retreat
We really enjoyed our stay at this amazing little cabin. The home was very well kept and the location was incredible. We hope to stay here again next time we are visiting the Mission Valley!

Great stay
This place was amazing. I got the opportunity to stay for a month while working and it could not have been a better place to have stayed. The house was perfect and the host was amazing.. ( the home made cookies were great ) . If you ah e the chance to stay you won’t regret it.. hoping I can make it back soon

This cottage is located on 160 acres of mostly timbered mountainous land. You're more than welcome to explore the many trails on the property which offer beautiful views of the valley/sunsets and the majestic mountains. You'll come across several fish ponds with Westslope Cuttroat trout in them. These are a species of trout native to Montana. We raise them in ponds to keep them as natural looking as possible.
