Wonderful stay

Kelley and her husband were great guests. Very easy to communicate with, they looked after our home as if it were their own. Everything left clean and tidy. We highly recommend them to other hosts.

Wonderful quiet desert location

Lovely views, close to Joshua Tree NP, well-stocked, we hope to return there.

Lovely home, well appointed. Host was very responsive to any questions. Hot tub was great, as is the pet policy.

Marianne and her guest were great. They left the house very clean. My cleaners could hardly tell she had 2 dogs with her during the stay. (just a little bit of dog hair and nose prints on the windows) Would rent to them again.

Pleasant stay. The neighborhood was a bit busier than I expected, but otherwise listing was as advertised. We made a few meals and the kitchen had everything we needed.

I was surprised to hear that the neighborhood was busy that weekend. Usually it is very quiet, and we hardly even see or hear the neighbors who are quite a distance from our house.

We like quiet places nestled in natural environments and that’s why we chose Yucca View Retreat. It’s exactly what we hoped it was!

Love the location

Over all very nice. Only wood burning stove for a few wet and chilly nights.

Half marathon home base

A short 2 night stay to do a trail half marathon. It was a beautiful home. Great to sit outside and look at the stars.

Yucca trip 2023

This place was absolutely fantastic for our family. Clean, well stocked with household essentials, and an amazing view. Host was easy to communicate with. Highly recommend this place.

National park visit

This property was exactly what I was hoping for. We only had two days ro visit, but wish we had another day to enjoy the property and rest while enjoying the beautiful landscaping and hot tub.

Yucca Valley Stay

Often online photos exaggerate the loveliness of a place; not so with Malcolm and Debra's place. It was even lovelier than we expected. Communication with hosts was excellent. Everything we needed was right there!

Quick Trip

We were in Yucca Valley for a birthday celebration. This house was very comfortable to stay in. The views of the valley were great - both during the day and at night. It's very close to all the various businesses in Yucca Valley and it's an easy drive over to Pioneertown.

Fun place

Very nice place to stay. My family enjoyed our stay very much. All the beds were comfortable. Had everything we need and more. View was amazing. Very clean. It was near lots of restaurants and markets. I highly recommend this place to anybody. You would not regret!

This property was perfect for what I needed

Nature was all around. The day hikes and the nights were perfect for star gazing. I had all the comforts I needed but the best was the hot tub to end my busy day of activities. I will be returning to do more exploring and refreshing my busy life

Great Place to Stay

Easy to find with the directions. Easy locks to get in. Two comfortable bed rooms. Very clean. Attentive host. Great hot tub, wonderful views, amazing sunrise. Great location between Palm Springs and Joshua Tree Park.

Back for more

You know how reviewers always say they will definitely book again? How many actually do? Well, we did, and it was just as good as the first time we stayed here. An ideal property for a visit to this gorgeous region.

Beautiful views!

Very beautiful stay in Yucca Valley! Lots of Joshua trees around the property. Malcolm was great with answering all of my questions and was very flexible in allowing us a late check out. The central AC kept us cool from the heat. The beds were super comfortable. There was a fenced area for my dogs which was great since there is wildlife. The views were amazing. Great place to view the sunrise or set. There are unique pioneertown looking sheds you can check out as well. Will definitely be back in the fall/winter!

Salton sea exploration

My husband,19 year old daughter, her friend and I wanted to explore the salton sea during their spring break. We wanted a remote, relaxing, unique place to serve as “base camp” and this place absolutely fit the bill. It’s a wonderful property with a lot of charm and all the creature comforts but still private and makes you fill like you are in the middle of nowhere (but still with great wifi). All communication was exceptional and the flexibility of a slightly late check out was perfect because we didn’t want to leave. We will hopefully be back.

Desert Rose

Despite being at the end of a short dirt road, the property was rustic and charming and the house was spacious and very well kept and functional with a fabulous view from the living room picture window. The spa just a few steps from the house was luxurious and relaxing. We were able to cook a full Thanksgiving meal in the more than adequate kitchen and the walks around the property provided many adorable surprises. Well stocked for wood for the ready to go freestanding fireplace we had a relaxing and fun holiday getaway. We highly recommend this slightly out of the way property for quiet relaxation.

Beautiful location, wonderful stay

We had a great time staying here and enjoying the property. Stayed with 2 friends and there was plenty of room for us each have our own space with the 2 bedrooms, pullout couch, and 2 bathrooms. The hosts are very generous with including everything you will need for your stay, from kitchen and bathroom essentials (even more than the essentials, really), to thorough instructions on how to use various features/amenities throughout the house. Every detail was thought of to make your stay pleasant and relaxing! The firepit seemed to be out of propane, so we were unable to use that, but we mostly used the hot tub to keep warm on chilly evenings anyway. We absolutely loved stargazing from the hot tub and enjoyed all the great landscaping and scenery/views to take in around the property. Everything was clean and comfortable. Excellent location to get to all that Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree and the surrounding area have to offer. Hosts were communicative and responsive to any questions. Would highly recommend the Yucca View Retreat!!

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry you weren't able to use the firepit. The tank was actually 3/4 full when you arrived, and I used it just before your stay. (and there is a full spare propane tank in the garage). It can be a little tricky to light, so I wish you had contacted me during your stay and I could've stepped you through the process. It is a little hard to explain the details in the written instructions.

Just what we needed

This house really was a retreat. As soon as we entered the home, it felt so comfortable. The house felt spacious; the pictures do not do them justice. The beds, sofa sectional & recliners were so comfortable - all slept well. (Kids even slept on the couch some nights.) It was so convenient to have filtered water. We had everything we needed. If travelling with young children, you might want to bring some childproof plates & cups. The neighborhood was so quiet & it was the perfect place to decompress from all the stress. We went to Joshua Tree every day since it was so close. It was a a relaxing drive to the park. We had some technical difficulties with the sound bar for the TV, but Malcolm responded quickly & we were able to figure it out. This was such a wonderful vacation for the family. We are thinking of making this a Thanksgiving tradition. Thanks Malcolm & Debra for sharing your home with us. We really enjoyed ourselves.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful house in Yucca Valley, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The property is a true desert gem, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the area. First and foremost, the highlight of this stay was the wonderful hot tub under the desert sky. The feeling of soaking in warm water while gazing at the starry night was simply magical. It was the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring Joshua Tree and Pioneertown. The location of the property is ideal for anyone looking to visit these iconic destinations. Both Joshua Tree National Park and Pioneertown were just a short drive away, making it incredibly convenient to explore the natural wonders and Old West charm of the area. Malcolm and Debra were also top-notch hosts. They were incredibly responsive and friendly, always ready to assist with any questions or requests we had. Their hospitality added a personal touch to the stay, making us feel right at home. Overall, I can't recommend this property enough. It's a fantastic place to experience the beauty of Yucca Valley, especially for those who appreciate a great hot tub and a prime location for exploring the desert's treasures. We had a wonderful time, and we're sure you will too!
