150 the esplanade was initially built in the 1960s. It was built on and remodeled in the 2000s with sleek modern fittings and stunning architecturally designed panoramic view of the Cook Strait. Nestled in the serene enclave of Houghton Bay, this stunning 3 story oceanfront property with 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom and multiple living areas offers a tranquil lifestyle with breath-taking ocean views.
As you step inside of the first floor, you'll be greeted by a spacious, sun-soaked open plan dinning, living area that seamlessly flows into a modern kitchen perfect for entertaining or quiet family evenings. On the same level is a beautifully furnished bedroom with native Rimu King bed and temper memory foam mattress. An adjacent fully-tiled bathroom with separate toilet. And a separate laundry area.
Ground floor has 2 double bedrooms with built in wardrobe. Third floor is a private retreat with spacious master bedroom, waling in wardrobe, ensuite with underfloor heating and private living area with panoramic view.
Ducted Air conditioning system ensures your comfort year-round and underfloor heating in the ensuite Provide extra warm comfort
The location is unparalleled, with a dedicated parking spot in front of the property and plenty free off street parking on the sea side, coming and going is a breeze, whether you're heading into the city, catch a morning flight or exploring the great outdoors.
Guest access
You have full access to the house except the garage and 3 locked storage cupboard which used by us and the cleaners
There is enough space to park a car in front of the house. However, there are lots of free off street parking right across the road.
Other things to note
Please be extra careful when crossing the road as you won't have good vision for cars coming around the corner. It worth a while for one adult to across first and give others instructions when to cross.
As the property is on the esplanade. There will be some road noises during traffic hours for the bedrooms facing the ocean despite double glazed windows. The sea wave does provide a good masking effect over the noise. The master bedroom on the top floor is relatively quieter because it is facing away from the road. If it is a concern, please remember to bring ear plugs
As the entrance is on the first floor, there is a staircase to conquer as shown in the photos. If you have very heavy suitcases. It might require some muscle power.
Around our neighborhood, mobile signal can be poor for Vodafone Network users. We found there are signals by the front window in the dining room and top floor living room. Signal strength can be varied at different part of the house during different hours.
There is a portable cot in the walk-in wardrobe next to the master bedroom. If it is needed, please advise ahead, so we can provide linen for the cot.
Additional cleaning service during stays can be arranged with the cleaner directly. They charge $30 per hour and it should be paid to the cleaner directly.

Houghton Bay offers a serene escape for nature lovers, families, and adventurers. Our Property located between Houghton Bay and Princess Bay beach which used by surfers, swimmers and divers. It is a popular surfing and recreational diving spot within the Taputeranga Marine Reserve.
