The 7,000 square-foot home features 4 bedrooms, 10 beds and an open living room space, all of which are decorated to capture the charm of this unique property. On the 200 acre property, you'll find a 7-acre lake.

The disenchanted forest

Seems they haven’t rented this property in a year. And the place hadn’t been maintained since. Cabin was dirty, we had to buy candles and freeze because it smelled like cigarettes. Pool was green and cloudy cleared up by our second day. Outside deck was falling apart, there were wasps everywhere 3 of the 6 adults were stung. There was also a mouse in the basement who came out to visit every night. This is nothing like the pictures or the past reviews. Has potential though!

Great family get away

The owner was very kind, thoughtful and quick to respond to our messages and questions. The house was clean and just like the pictures. He offered us complimentary meat and eggs. Our grandchildren enjoyed seeing the longhorn cattle, riding a horse and feeding the rabbits on the property. When our older grandson didn’t want a horse ride, the owner let him drive a tractor! The small fish pond by the deck was fun. It had a frog in it, too. The flowers and landscaping were lovely. My bird app showed almost 10 unique birds close by. It was fun to look for them. It was close enough for a day trip to Mammoth Cave. A Dollar General was super close by, too and offered grocery items. Great memories were made.

Beautiful and Comfortable

This house is absolutely beautiful. I felt like we were on the set of Yellowstone. Every detail was interesting and authentic. Darrell had a fire going for us when we arrived and the home was warm and inviting. He also gifted us some fresh farm eggs and sausage which were so delicious! We loved drinking our morning coffee in the rocking chairs on the front porch while we watched the horses grazing. If you like stargazing, you'll love this property at night. This review would not be complete without telling you how amazing the shower is in the master bedroom! Three separate shower head systems in the wall and ceiling provide a massage that will make even the most weary travelers feel fresh and new. Thank you Darrell for a lovely stay and for your wonderful hospitality.

Perfect Getaway

This property is the perfect spot to get away from every day rush and stress of work and school. This was a "guys" weekend of fishing, grilling and just hanging out. The house is fully stocked with everything you need, but if you forgot something, Darrell is easy to reach and was more than happy to help out! He delivered fresh eggs and farm fresh hamburger for our meals. The house is a charming log cabin and for us made a perfect place to relax, swim or watch an evening movie. The fishing spot was a short drive on the property but provided a secluded spot to fish and have an evening campfire for toasting the perfect marshmallow. The Perfect Getaway!

A vacation for everyone

This trip was perfect for our family of four. This property has something for everyone. Our kids loved the animals and fed them daily. The bunnies were the favorite. The lake is beautiful with tons of wildlife and enormous fish. This is a fisherman’s paradise. We all enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The theater room was a great option the day it rained. We had an amazing time the entire week. It’s close to many caves and Mammoth. We did some horseback riding too! Darrell is one of the nicest people we’ve ever met. He shared fresh produce and beef and it was delicious. He is an amazing host! Very fun property!

Great Place

Beautiful piece of property and area. Stayed here for a baseball tournement with members of the team. The bunk room was perfect. Great hot tub and pool as well. Also some of the best fishing around. Darryl was a great host and made sure we were happy.

Nice and Quiet

In town for a baseball tournament. While a bit more of a drive than the blocked hotels, this was a nice, quiet, cabin with some fun bonuses for the kids. Very friendly owner, would recommend.

Amazing time!!

Amazing host! Beautiful farm! And wonderful/cozy home! We can’t thank Darrell enough for his hospitality. We stayed with our family and another family while in town for a baseball tournament. Our kids fell in love with the farm. He was so patient and kind with the kids when they wanted to hold the animals. We are confident our kids will always remember this trip as one of their favorites. We recommend this property to anyone who is looking for somewhere to stay in the area!

Private Getaway Cabin

We had a great time on this property. 5 guys on a bourbon trail trip. The property and the animals that live on the farm next door were an awesome. We grilled and cooked on the huge deck and went into town for dinner one night. Everything we needed was not far at all. Darrell was always available and did everything he could to make our stay great. We will stay here again 100%!

Great stay!

3 generations came together for a mini-vacation! It was perfect. Darrell was a fabulous host and got us acquainted with the property. He was very attentive and even brought extra gifts for my family to enjoy. He also arranged a special horse backriding event for my daughters. He was easy to communicate with readily. We had a great trip! Thanks again!!!

Great weekend

Amazing property and an even better host! Darrell went above and beyond any expectation to assure my family had a great weekend. Birthday cake, s’mores kit, fresh veggies from the garden all made the stay in the already beautiful cabin just perfect. To top it all off he even was able to arrange a horse ride for my niece. Could not ask for a better experience than we were able to share on this property. Thanks again!

A Fun and Happy Adventure

We visited Darrell’s property (4 adults, 5 kids ages 2-10) and we had a fantastic experience. We took advantage of the pool, hot tub, huge decks and patios with outdoor bbq, and theater room. The home was spacious, comfortable and clean. Darrell is an incredibly gracious host and provided fresh vegetables and eggs but even better was our visit with the animals. Our kids fed the horses, goats, chickens and rabbits and had a wonderful time making s’mores in the fire pit. The horses walked up to the fence next to the house and we fed them the morning we left and it was another of many memories we took with us. Highly recommend a visit.

Awesome Experience

This house is everything and beyond beautiful. It completely exceeded our expectations. The cleanest rental we have experienced. The property owner Darryl made our stay very memorable and shined with his southern hospitality. The horses, cows, goats and chickens only enhanced our visit and left the kids with an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and would give it ten stars if I could.

Summer Vacation

Darrel was very welcoming upon arrival. he greeted us with balloons and a cake as we were celebrating a Birthday they day of our arrival. This was a family trip with another family (9 of us). There was plenty to do and see around the property without feeling crowded. My kids really enjoyed seeing the horses, miniature horses and petting/holding the bunnies. Many hours were spent outside relaxing and enjoying the pool. We all enjoyed watching a movie downstairs in the “movie room” or “little Cabela’s” as my youngest called it. Mammmoth Cave National Park is only a little over an hour away and we enjoyed a trip there. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable trip.

Perfect relaxing weekend

A group of 8 gals stayed here to celebrate a 30th birthday. We wanted a relaxing but fun weekend and this property was perfect! The house is gorgeous, the pool and hot tub were so fun, and we loved walking the property to see the animals. We had zero complaints! We had the best time!

Perfect setting for a Derby week

The ranch and cabin setting was a perfect backdrop for our bourbon trail and derby week. Darrel is extremely helpful and hospitable. If you’re looking for a place that provides a Cabin/ranch feel and a quiet setting… This is the place for you.

Honey, I bought a Zoo!

This property delivered as promised! We had goats, ponies long horn steer, cows, chickens, horses, bunnies and a cat staying with us!! All were fun and well behaved and enjoyed treats provided by the host. In addition, we had farm fresh eggs and ground beef at check in along with the deluxe tour. This place is huge with something for everyone. Hot tub, luxury home theater, a full bar and top line appliances. Give it a try; you won't regret it!!

Darrell, you’re a true humanitarian & my personal experience was sincerely life changing. L❤️🧡💛💚💜💙VE your cabin & enjoyed taking my time walking through each room & around the backyard to photograph your accomplishments. Will spend the rest of my life reminiscing about one of the greatest times of my life. Genuinely felt like a Princess the entire time. Enchanted Forest Luxury Cabin indeed!

Great place

This place is exactly as advertised. It's beautiful. It's clean. They provide everything including to and paper towels, etc. (Makes it so much easier.) The owner is friendly, responsive, and helpful. The kids LOVED the house and the animals. Perfect location halfway between Louisville and Mammoth Caves. We will definitely be back.

Family Get-together

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Darrell’s Log Cabin! The farm is lovely and the animals on property are an added bonus! Darrell was nice enough to share some farm fresh eggs with us for one of our family breakfasts. In the future, if we are ever in the area again, we wouldn’t hesitate to rent Darrell’s property again!

Amazing Memories in Nature

The entire family had a blast and made memories we will cherish forever. We enjoyed every second of the beautiful cabin and rustic outdoors. Darrell made sure we had everything we needed and made the entire experience special. Our kiddos can't stop talking about the bunnies/goats (that they named!) in addition to all the fish they caught. Retreat with Fun and Memories

What a beautiful home and outdoor adventure! Darrell was very attentive and helpful with any requests. A peaceful retreat and fun for all ages with huge pool, hot tub w/ bells and whistles and a menagerie of animals to feed, pet or just enjoy from afar. Sad to leave but going with many family memories.

Great relaxing getaway
