Beautiful cabin right on the lake. Easy check in process and the cabin have every item you could ever need. My family definitely be coming back.

Relaxing Getaway

We had a great time staying at Elan Cabin on Lake Osakis. The cabin was clean, spacious, quiet, well-appointed.

Great cabin.

Easy check-in & out. Cabin was clean, well appointed with supplies and had wonderful places to hang out….interior areas, screen porch, deck, dock, back patio, and lawn area. Worked really well for our family gathering.

Osakis Getaway!

We had the best time! The cabin was great, the screened in porch was so nice to have on the couple of days it rained! Fishing was excellent! Host was available for any questions. Would definitely stay again!

Great perfect getaway!

This home on Osakis was just right for our weekend away. The dock was perfect and the location was just right! The home is much bigger in person than it seems in the listing! Will be back!

Place was great

We had a fabulous time at Osakis! The cabin and location were perfect for us. The cabin was spacious and had everything we needed. The Lake view was nice. Beautiful sunsets! Thanks, Lance!

Cabin

We had a great time. The cabin was cute but the lakeshore/dock/swimming area were less than ideal.

Thanks for the comments on the cabin it is super special to us! We spend money monthly to keep the lake weed free for swimming and the base of the shore is sand but, I under the depth of the lake is low due to lake of rain which makes it shallow. Please come again! :)

Great cabin!

What an awesome cabin on lake Osakis! We had a group of 6 friends and had a great time. The cabin is clean and has plenty of room for everyone. Kids will LOVE staying here, there is a fun loft and they can fish right off the dock. There’s room to tie up your boat on the dock as well. The owner was very responsive and helpful with my questions. I highly recommend!

Summer vacay 2022

Nice family vacation cabin! The pictures do not do it justice! We had an absolute blast here, we loved the three season porch, spent all our time not outside in there. Loved the game room stocked with numerous games and there are multiple places for you to hang out in this cabin. Owner was very accommodating and communicated with us regularly. We will definitely stay again.

The guests we fabulous to have stay at the Elan Cabin. They kept the cabin clean and well cared for when they stay with us. I would rent to them anytime. :)

Classic cabin experience

We loved so many aspects of this cabin. The many gathering spaces made it enjoyable for our family. Large refrigerator and lots of cookware/dishes. The mattress in our bed was a little uncomfortable, plus the cushions in the screened porch were flat. Otherwise, a great place to stay!

This place has an active rodent problem, with poison bait out in the open for animals/kids to eat/access. This was not disclosed when booking. There were mouse droppings in the cupboards with dishes, acorns in the couch, rodent bait in every room. There were 3 undisclosed cameras that we saw - 1 hidden indoors behind the blinds and 2 outside up in the trees. Who knows how many private conversations/moments they captured on the camera/audio. One of the doors came off the hinge right after arriving, looks like frame is rotted and hinge has been relocated. Host was not friendly when dealing with these issues and most went unaddressed (did have someone out right away to fix door, otherwise ignored other issues). Absolutely not worth the money! Plus the beach/dock is covered with weeds and not good to swim in.

We respectfully ask future guests to take this review in context, as we strongly dispute all of the claims made and believe the condition of the property has been significantly misrepresented. These guests stayed for only two days, and from shortly after arriving, it appeared they were focused on finding problems and seeking compensation rather than being reasonable humans! Our cabin was professionally cleaned immediately before their arrival, and our cleaning professional photographs the property after each turnover. Those photographs documented the cabin as clean and in good condition. The door referenced in the review was not broken when the cabin was prepared for their arrival, they broke it by pushing on it too hard. When they reported an issue, we responded immediately and had someone come out and repair it. Despite having documentation of the property’s condition beforehand, we did not charge the guests for the damage or repair. This is a rural Northern Minnesota cabin, and preventative pest-control measures are used to protect the property, as is common with seasonal homes in wooded areas. Following this stay, the property was inspected and cleaned and any concerns were addressed. Regarding cameras, any exterior security cameras are maintained for property security and are not intended to monitor guests these VRBO guidelines ! We take guest privacy seriously. We have rented this cabin successfully for several years without receiving a review like this!

A New Year’s tradition

This cabin is wonderfully located just feet from the lake and a perfect location for fishing at the head of the lake!! We enjoyed one full day of just playing all the games in the cabin. We appreciated cooking with all the pots and pans and other kitchen utensils provided. The best part was the wood burning fireplace. We will be back for our annual tradition of fishing on Lake osakis for New Year’s!

Pleasant surprise

I haven’t done many VRBO rentals so I’m always a bit nervous about the whole process. Lance did a great job communicating with me and this cabin was everything plus some of what we were looking for! Super cute and plenty of space for all of the kids. The only thing that was disappointing was the fish were being stubborn and wouldn’t bite our hooks!

Peaceful and relaxing with breathtaking sunsets

Loved this property! The cabin layout and its location on the lake was absolutely perfect for our family for boating, walleye fishing and just enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Hours of fun catching sunnies from the dock. The large loft was a hit with our grandsons. Beds in every room, including the queen sofa sleeper were very comfortable. Everyone enjoyed the game room, screened-in porch with tabletop firepit and family room. Would highly recommend---you won't be disappointed. Thank you, Lance! Dave & Denise

The cabin was very clean and very well stocked with all the necessities that we needed. It was a great place, we had a wonderful time!!The only downfall was the amount of seaweed all around the dock so fishing from the dock wasn’t an option and the kids weren’t able to swim right off the dock, but we paddled out into the middle of the lake a bit to get away from all the seaweed and then we did our swimming. A wonderful cabin to rent and Lance was prompt with his responses to my questions!!

This cabin offers gorgeous sunset views over Lake Osakis. Inside was clean and beautifully decorated with warm wood finishes. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking meals. We also enjoyed many games and puzzles. Overall, it is a peaceful and quiet getaway. Highly recommend!

Family Gathering

We spent a week in August 2022 with our kids, their spouses, pets and our granddaughter at the Cabin on Lake Osakis (6 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs). We had a great time! The cabin and property were as advertised and the floor plan worked excellent for sleeping, cooking, eating, relaxing, reading, pets, walks and access to Osakis and Alexandria. 5 Stars for the cabin. We were really disappointed in Lake Osakis 2 Stars for the lake as it really didn't have a great beach (one at Head of the Lake Resort and one in Osakis) and the lake is very weedy and has poor clarity. On top of this we were made aware that the owner had troubles with (1) their boat lift and (2) their pontoon boat the day ahead of when we were to arrive. We were told via email that neither of these would be available for us for our week. The owner told us we could rent a pontoon from the nearby resort. We were able to rent a pontoon for one of the weekdays from the Head of the Lake Resort (very nice folks) but the timing of this news was too close to the weekend already and thus boats weren't available. The kayak at the property is very nice. (FYI..no life jackets). Also, the lake is very weedy and dirty...a better fishing lake than a swimming lake for sure. This is not a show stopper but we were hoping to swim in front of the cabin or on a nice beach but we cannot recommend this lake for anyone desiring to swim alot and do water sports except for in the middle of the lake. I will say that Lance responds quickly to questions and the renters needs. In our case the news wasn't good news (boat issues) and I am not sure anyone would have received this information positively. Stuff happens...

Great Experience

The property was great. Perfect for families or a group of friends. So many hang out areas and very nicely remodeled. still felt like a cabin, with updates.

Nice updates to interior

The cabin was lovely inside. Very comfortable and lots of options for seating areas. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked.
