From the very beginning Kirsten was communicative and helpful. She checked in on us through VRBO messaging multiple times as major storms made their way towards the Big Island. Fortunately for us the storms did no damage to this beautiful place of solitude and peace. My wife and I were celebrating our 40th anniversary and looking for a place that would provide all the solitary beauty of the tropics while also giving us a jumping-off place to see things like Volcano National Park, the city of Hilo, and also the gorgeous beaches of Kona. "Hale Romantik" was the perfect place for us to experience all of this. Thank you Kirsten!

Kirsten is always so warm and welcoming, and Hale Romantik is an absolutely beautiful accommodation, with everything that we could need. We enjoy relaxing and enjoying the fabulous views. We have stayed here three times and look forwarding to coming again.

The house was great. Location is absolutely perfect if you’re looking for a quiet getaway in a spectacular location. We can’t say enough good things about our host, Kirsten. We faced ongoing weather challenges throughout our stay and she keep us informed and updated on alerts from the weather service, but even more so, was helpful, and extremely supportive during some challenges we faced during the trip. Highly recommend.

Host was readily available and communicated concerns. We loved being so close to the water but were not able to fully appreciate it due to high tides everyday

The kitchen was very well equipped and the owner provided many convenient things like shampoo and conditioner. We loved sitting on the lanai and watching for whales. We only saw one, but we kept watching.

Very easy to check in and check out. Love the seclusion of the property and the sunsets were beautiful! Everything was clean. The neighbor next door was so friendly as well. The road may not be for everyone but I found it not to be too bad. The host was very accommodating. Had a wonderful stay!!

Peaceful Setting

Kristin was excellent with communication and the property location on the water was so peaceful and relaxing. It was the best place to view stars too! We loved our visit!

Beautiful spot!

We so enjoyed our time there and the peaceful neighborhood. We took advantage to hike several times into the nearby beach, through the village- a favorite memory! The home was spotless and had everything we need

Perfect getaway location

House is clean and well equipped, quiet location with good access to the volcano and hiking nearby. Great place to relax next to the ocean away from the crowds and tourists. Exemplary host and friendly neighbors. This was our second stay here and we definitely plan to return.

Panoramic Views!

My favorite place to stay on the island so far. If you are OK with being 30 min away from food, amenities etc than I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Honeymoon Getaway

We loved the secluded spot for our honeymoon, it was absolutely perfect. We didnt mind the drive to any of the places we went to explore either. It has a perfect view of the ocean and you can still get some sun too laying out.

Great Stay

Great place to stay to get away. We had all the amenities we needed and more. We didn't know there would be as many Mosquitoes outside but using bug spray helped a lot. We had a great time!

Breathtaking

Once again, a most magnificent visit to Kirsten’s vacation home. I could just sit watching the ocean for hours-my recommendation if you’re planning some rest and relaxation. Location is perfect.

Great quiet remote beautiful location

This place is all about the location and the view! Outstanding on both counts! You definitely need to be ready to drive but it’s worth it for this spot.

Beautiful home. Everything was exactly as the listing describes it, and more. Yes the road going down is very steep and scary, and you need to bring your own drinking water, as they are on rainwater catchment system. But, we knew this going in. It's described in the listing and other's reviews. We would definitely go back. Kirsten was always in reachable via text, etc. if we had questions. We saw whales from the lanai every day. Lot's to do on the Kona side. Just be prepared to drive a while to get to them. It's definitely off the beaten path, which is how we personally like it.Mahalo Nui loa Kirsten!

Peaceful.

Perfectly peaceful with an excellent view. The lanai was large well equipped for relaxing. The house is cozy and very comfortable.

About as close to the ocean as a house can be!

We thoroughly enjoyed our days at this property and were perfectly content to relax on the lanai and marvel at the view. The house is well equipped and the description of the property is very accurate. The house is great for a couple who wants to get away from it all and explore the southern part of the island. We loved our stay there!

Sunsets and Whales

Beautiful location; saw awesome sunsets and whales. Home was well equipped, clean and charming. Deck made it extra special.
