Cozy Loft for two with Hot Tub & Mtn Views
Perfect for just one or two people, this architect designed and built cabin- "tiny house" is a classic Vermont getaway. Lovingly handcrafted, with beautiful wood details throughout, it is great for one couple! With just one loft bedroom, it is well equipped for the adventurous pair looking for a romantic getaway. Finished with copper (corona-proof) countertops and handrails, bright and airy with over eight windows, it is a gorgeous and relaxing place for an escape. Two outdoor areas provide plenty of options to sit and take in the expansive views. A hot tub on the patio and seating on the upper deck make for a great way for two people to experience the beauty that surrounds this Vermont getaway.
Indoors, there is a mini-fireplace/stove to warm your body and soul after a great day skiing at one of five nearby ski resorts, or just hiking/snowshoeing around the nearby trials. Relax on the leather sofa, connect to the high speed fiber optic internet, watch a fun movie or just gaze at the fireplace flames. Although small, it has all the amenities of any large home, but at just 250 square feet, with the soapstone stove and heated bath floor, it literally radiates cozy intimacy.
Please remember we have two other homes on the property, so do not play loud music or shout, especially late at night, thanks.
NOTE: Pets are allowed, but there is a $30 fee for the additional cleaning and wear. Please check the box on your reservation request or contact the owner. We also ask that you pick up any land mines and keep them from barking excessively.
WINTER: 4wd Car recommendation: It is recommended that you have a 4wd car or truck in the winter AND good SNOW TIRES. "All-season" tires are useless in the fresh snow, especially on the hills. The town is very good about plowing, but the hills can be tricky during snow storms and many people have had to get towed. A sand barrel is provided by the driveway for when extra traction may be needed.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND PURCHASING TRAVEL INSURANCE. If you are prevented from taking your trip because of a covered reason, such as a sickness or injury of yourself or a family member, Travel Protection can help reimburse 100% of your prepaid, nonrefundable trip costs that you would otherwise lose when you cancel.
NOISE: Although the cabin is very private, we have two other homes on the property as well. Other homes may not be visible from there, but sound travels a long distance. We ask that our guests be courteous and not play loud music, especially at night. We are fortunate to have great neighbors and want to keep it that way!
Lastly, it is a tiny house, so it is small and we have a TWO person maximum. We designed this to take advantage of every square inch, so this is ideal for those who do not mind small rooms or a loft with stairs.

Preguntas frecuentes
Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Jeff Young
As an architect, Jeff relished the challenge of making this tiny house feel much bigger and function like a regular home. Originally built as a shed, Jeff saw the rough space and it was three years of work/fun after that! He enjoys working with wood, and built it along with some assistance from his wife Ronni and daughter, Lily. Ronni, found many of the fixtures nearby and helped to fill it out, making this little house feel like a home.
Por qué eligió esta propiedad
Having already built an 850 square foot cabin nearby which they also rent, they decided to make what he and his wife call, the 250 sq ft "Little Loft" for family, friends and guests. This way, visitors can have their own personal space, yet are not so far away. Once built, they realized it is the perfect skiers/hikers retreat which they now enjoy sharing with others.
Qué distingue a esta propiedad
The cabin is a unique collection of materials from all over New England. Jeff built the entire cabin himself (including the cherry floors) all sourced from locally available wood. The interior railings were made using cedar provided by his next door neighbor. He also built the exterior cedar log railings from cedar just an hour away in the Adirondacks. The copper counters and copper handrails are also extremely safe as germs can only live for just a few hours on the metal surface. The pine walls, stairs and cabinets are also made from local lumber. Jeff and family put it together, from framing the walls, tiling the floors, to building the cabinets and furniture (coffee table is made from a local pine slab in Vermont).
Lastly, the beautifully detailed porch roof timber frame was hand made by The Barn Raisers of Haddam, CT and was the first frame (out of over 100) they let someone else put together. The exterior site and stonework was done by a local Vermonter who is an expert with an excavator. But perhaps the overall interior ambience is provided from the reclaimed timbers used for the ceilings and stair treads found in New Hampshire and Vermont. Having stood the test of time, these beams now have new life, not just as structural members, but as integral parts of the cabin design aesthetic. It is all done with lots of love and in the hope that those visiting will feel refreshed and recharged by the local beauty, ambience and cozy surroundings!
