My family and I had a wonderful stay. If your looking for a place right on the beach to enjoy lake Huron, this is the place to book.

We had a wonderful quick overnight stay. Perfect for my husband and I. Very comfortable and clean. Communication was perfect.

Captains Watch on the Lake is a lovely property. Responsive host - will definitely recommend.

Getaway

We had a nice stay, the unit we stayed in was clean, had reasonable utensils for cooking. The beach was awesome. A couple of the other units have a better view of the lake but this one was ok.

Beautiful Beachfront

Great stay!! Communication was easy. Everything was as stated. We loved walking out the back door and being right on the beach. We'll be back.

Getaway

The property location to the beach was fabulous, had a wonderful vacation hanging out on the beach. The location to US 23 was underwhelming due to the noise heard as vehicles passed by all night long.

cottage

location was beautiful, cottage needed serious cleaning, needs central air, very humid, door wall and window were moldy , door wall screen torn, kitchen window screen kept falling out of window, we did enjoy our stay, it just needs some serious TLC

The beach access is amazing. The 2nd bedroom looks like a very small family room without a door which could be a problem for some guests. It did not affect our visit, we plan on returning.

Perfect spot for a quiet getaway!

We were all super impressed with not only the location of the cabin, but the amazing view and accommodations they provided! The Captains Watch was definitely the right move for our little family, with the right amount of space for all of us to sleep and move comfortably. Highly impressed with the cleanliness of our cabin and property! I've already recommended your property location to friends and family and were planning another trip soon! Thank you for a wonderful Anniversary/Mother's Day Retreat! Sad to have left, but so happy we stayed. :)

Unfortunately we would not return to this house. We loved the proximity to beach and the lake view from the upstairs bedroom, and appreciated the upstairs AC unit. That was about all we were able to enjoy… the place was very dirty, dishes weren’t clean, throw blankets were not washed and had awful smells. Shower was small with no soap, shampoo, etc. There were SO many bugs both outside and inside, which I’m sure is just a seasonal May thing and not the property owner’s fault. However, there were many bugs and some ants inside. When we reached out about the bugs, they did offer to move us to another property, but it was not the right location/ideal situation for us. Overall, we just did not feel clean or comfortable here. Communication was great and quick. The town of Oscoda was cute, quaint, and homey!

You are right about the bugs, it happens every year, particularly with the mayflies, but we do what we can to mitigate with pest control.

Great Low-Key Getaway

The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Kitchen had all cookware and dishes, bathroom had plenty of towels, there were beach towels. The grill worked great, we had plenty of options for lounging outdoors. All-in-all it was a great time. We would definitely go back. The futon is uncomfortable but the bed in the main bedroom was comfortable.

Mom’s time out with kids

This was the perfect location for a mom and two kids to spend the weekend. Right on the beach and within driving distance to attractions and east tawas. It helped that the neighbors were quiet at the other cabins on the property. A few things to know: you have to hook up the propane to use the grill yourself, bring beach towels with you, there is not a clothing line to dry swim wear on. Other than that we had a great time!

Perfect Beach Getaway from City Life!

This property has 4 properties, and each one has its own character and charm. We stayed at the Captain’s Watch and it’s character was it’s bedroom! You could see the Beach and the Night-sky, and the Sunrise/Sunset right from your bed! The Weather was beautiful and unseasonably warm, the beach was gorgeous and private enough for all to enjoy. We looked forward to the view on the rainy days as well- even saw a rainbow 🌈over Port Huron on our last day! We will definitely be back next year!

Oscoda on the beach

My wife and I decided at the last minute to spend our 56th Anniversary near a beach so I found this location and was able to easily book a 2 night stay. I think the cleaning people are a bit over paid because the corners were a bit dirty but overall a pleasant stay. The upstairs bedroom is pretty nice with a full view of the beach. The view downstairs is minimal but we would still recommend this property and will probably do a return visit in the future.

Very ridgid about length of stay. 500 plus for 2 days you wouldnt think so. Killed 22 flies in unit upon arrival? Stairs in unit are not legit at all. Tell your carpenter theres a 7/11 rule to follow. Nice beach though!

Nice Location

Nice location on the beach with a great view of the lake. Property immediately behind this unit was not rented at the time so it did not feel crowded. The unit was very clean and had great amenities. I struggled a little with the door not completely understanding how it worked at first - written instructions inside the unit would have been helpful. I also wasn’t sure if the lakeshore was open to everyone or just in front of the property. Property managers were very responsive and helpful.

Delightful

We really enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable and clean. Probably one of the cleanest we’ve ever stayed at, and we’ve stayed at many. The kitchen was outfitted sufficiently although a few more and definitely better pans would have been nice. I might suggest that you get a small folding step stool for the kitchen to lessen the possibility of injury from standing on a chair to reach the top shelf of the cabinet. I would also suggest that the wicker loveseat upstairs faces the window, instead of its back to the window. The view is to die for and it’s a wonderful place to enjoy morning coffee. We loved all the windows and light. And the sunrises, oh my the sun rises! We would definitely recommend this stay to others.

TERRIBLE BED…beautiful area

Loved everything except the bed…worst sleep I never got. Bed is like 20 years old and has no support. Was lumpy and extremely soft, left suddenly at like 10pm just to get home and have a good nights rest. The shower was a single person stand in shower (not big body friendly), that’s also keep clogging. Besides that the beach was amazing and view. Right off the water (and us 23 so can be noisy with traffic). Great for relaxing getaway, neighbors you barely knew were there. Nice town and parks. I would stay again but in a different unit in hopes to have a better bed and shower. Bedroom was spacious, enough room for blow up mattress. Was a great Vacay spot.
