Brand new duplex

I am a local building contractor (retired), and constructed this place in 2021as our winter home. This was a retirement project for me. I will always be close by and available, should any need arise.

This was a homesite on the outskirts and bordering the Nags Head Woods Nature Preserve. I bought this homesite 20 years ago with the intent to live there one day. About 10 years ago, as an empty nester, we stumbled on a 60 year old home built on the water that was a summer only home built by one of my ancestors. We stay there in the summer home during the warm months, and live in the Nags Head Woods home during the winter months. We had been renting other properties in the colder winter months, and recently decided that it made sense to build this home on the Nags Head Woods site.

We love the center beach location of the Nags Head Woods home and the quiet peacefulness there. Located less than a mile from ample and free vehicle and bike beachfront parking, this home offers none of the highway noise that affects 95% of the local rental properties. We like to ride bikes and hike in the Nags head Woods Preserve. There is sand dune access within walking distance that offers a panoramic view of the National Monument, the ocean and the sound all form just about a quarter mile hike from the front door. Our favorite restaurants, watering holes, grocery stores, and shopping areas are all less than 2 miles away, and most are less than a mile.
