This home has four (4) COVERED DECKS & a fenced half acre yard with over 90 mature ponderosas on the 1 acre property, situated close to everything (5 min to shopping/pool/gym/hot springs/downtown/restaurants & 25 min from Wolf Creek). Enjoy the beautiful (shaded) backyard and the surrounding vacant lots away from the heat, construction and noise of downtown! We've now welcomed over 700 guest parties to our exclusive home since 2008. One of our guests described our second floor as a ''Luxury Tree House".

SPECIAL MONTHLY RATES: $3950/month for April, May, September & November; $5500/month for January, February, March, June, July, August, October & December. Utilities extra for monthly rentals. Long term rentals would be managed through owner (using the same contractual documents with no extra charges) , outside of this site.

This two Storey home has the MAIN AREA on the TOP FLOOR- NOT SUITABLE for those who cannot climb 25 steps-which allows viewing the abundant wildlife (deer, elk, bear, foxes, birds, skunks) year-round. The master bedroom has a King Tempurpedic, the second bedroom has a Queen Tempurpedic and the third bedroom has another Queen bed. There's a new Italian Leather Queen sleeper sofa and two reclining chairs in the living room (extra sleeping space in the Queen sleeper sofa). If cooking is your passion, you'll enjoy the well-appointed gourmet kitchen to put on a full Thanksgiving/Christmas meal/enjoy a BBQ etc.

AWESOME winter powder at Wolf Creek/quiet and cooler summers near fishing & restaurants. RADIANT HEATED WOOD FLOORS/GAS FIREPLACE/TEMPURPEDIC KING & Queen bed/HEATED GARAGE/mini split AC in upper level (the lower level stays naturally cool & we provide a fan in one of the bedrooms). Professionally landscaped. 5 min from Pagosa’s natural hot springs; 25 min to Wolf Creek and lots of wildlife in the yard (we've seen bears chasing deer and elk through our vacant lot outside of the fenced backyard on several occasions!).

The home is well appointed and is a great location - close to shopping, restaurants, etc. We really enjoyed the hospitality of our hosts.The property has a large fenced backyard, so it was perfect for our dog. Just note that there are steps to access the main level.

Comfy and Quiet

We had a great time. Everything was good- communication, location, property. The yard was very enjoyable and we really got a kick out of the deer that visited every evening. The location was great - out of the hustle and bustle of downtown yet conveniently located near the stores and restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked with culinary tools not normally provided - for the cook of the group, that was very much appreciated! We would stay again.

Excellent location and accommodations

Home was very clean and very comfortable for our family. Plenty of room and very relaxing after a day of skiing. Convenient to town and ski resort, yet tucked away off the main roads, nice and quiet. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Great home base

We had an excellent stay at this house! The location is great - super close and convenient to everything in Pagosa. The property owners were responsive and helpful. It was also super nice having a garage to park a vehicle and keep snowboard/ski equipment. When we were there, it was not snowing but some other houses' driveways had snow and ice on them. This house's driveway was totally clear. My kids also enjoyed playing in the spacious yard. We would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing Week

Beautiful home! Exactly as described. Yard was perfect for our dog. House was all that we needed for family reunion type getaway. We felt this location was great - very centrally located. We'll certainly use it again for our next trip. We spent time in Durango, hiked a few trails, fished on the Continental Divide, drove to Taos for the day, soaked in the hot springs and ate at the local brewery which had outstanding choices including homemade root beer for those who were underage. Thanks for a memorable vacation.

Great experience

The warm and cozy vacation home of Mr. and Mrs. White provided my wife and I with the perfect location to enjoy our hiking trip in the Pagosa Springs area. Watching deer meander in the landscaped backyard patio during breakfast or relaxing with a glass of wine on the front deck after a long day of hiking was delightful. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils that made breakfast preparation a snap. A minor snag at check-in was quickly resolved and the whites gave us a generous credit that we used for a delicious dinner one evening. This home is a “must stay” when visiting Pagosa Springs

Living in an instruction manual!

The owner was pretty responsive and apologetic when we pointed out few cleanliness concerns initially. While things seemed overall clean, there are minor pockets of concern. Other than that, there are so many instructions all through the house. Most of them informative/sort of guidelines. Quite a few are restrictive. Nothing bad, but seemed different compared to other VRBOs we had stayed. Overall a great experience and good location (love the deers that come up almost everyday).

Great house for Thanksgiving!

Jim, Thanks for letting us stay at your home over Thanksgiving. We were able to have two families at the table for dinner. The kitchen was great as my daughter’s partner is a chef and he had everything he needed to put on a great meal. Thanks for such a great place for family. What would make your guest experience better would be better lighting in the living room. I’m a reader not much TV person so I’m bias. There was some confusion between house manual and the back of door instructions. The conflict was about starting the bed linens or not. My daughter and her partner left a day early so I did their bed linens and folded and put them on the downstairs queen bed. I started the master’s bed linens and put them in the dryer. Hope this is what you wanted. Mary O’Gara

Amazing Christmas experience! (With lots of snow)

I grew up skiing since I was a young kid in New England but have been living in Austin, TX for 11+ years. My daughters had never really experienced snow or skiing and really wanted that this year. When I found Paradise in the Pines on HomeAway, I immediately knew it would be perfect. Was so happy to be able to secure it for 3 nights over Christmas 2016. The White's home is beautiful and they even had lots of Christmas decorations up throughout their home (which meant a lot to us since we had never really spent a Christmas away from our own home before). My girls loved that there was even a little lighted Tree and reindeer hooks to hang the stockings above the fireplace. Had a blast with burgers at Riff Raff folllowed by enjoying the relaxing Hot Springs in town our first night there; skiing on perfect snow at Wolf Creek (after yet another nice snow had fallen) on Christmas Eve followed by some takeout and Christmas movies in front of the fireplace; and waking up to snow falling on Christmas morning was absolutely the best. We spent most of Christmas Day playing in the snow in their spacious backyard and made memories that will last a lifetime.

Summer getaway

This was a GREAT house for our family of 5. The internet/Wi-fi coverage was waaaay above average (important b/c we had multiple family members required for zoom-meetings). It all worked perfectly even w/simultaneous separate zooms at a time. On top of the comfy, clean interior & excellent internet- the outside of this property was so fun. The deer & their cute fawns visited the place daily. We enjoyed relaxing in the hammock & outdoor spaces too. Thanks to the strict protocol in place by this owner, our family felt more at ease about crazy covid. The location was very convenient. Close to the grocery store and close to Lake Pagosa. Our boys got fishing licenses from Pagosa Lakes Rec Center & had a blast fishing every day. It was nice that we could store their fishing poles in the garage. This house has good ceiling fans in every room in addition to a strong oscillating fan for one bedroom & 2 portable AC fans for upstairs... so even w/out central AC, we were comfortable on the few unseasonably warm afternoons. The stairs didn’t bother us one bit. Few other nice touches in the kitchen were the ice maker in the fridge, blender, toaster, hand soaps, & plenty of dishes for preparing meals at the house. We really enjoyed our stay & would highly recommend.

Our Christmas stay at Pagosa

We come to Pagosa to snowboard Thanksgiving, Christmas and again in February! This cabin was one of my least favorites! There was old coffee grounds left in the coffee maker, left over tea left in a tea making machine! The stairs are not carpeted and very slippery for my pets so I had to carry them up and down to go outside! The master bedrooms mattress was hard as a rock and the bunkbeds downstairs had a mattress on the bottom bunk but was slats and no mattress on top! We had a good time but it’s not a place I’d ever wanna stay again!

Great Place

Awesome place. Loved the fenced in yard for the pup. We had daily visits from mule deer and chipmunks that he loved to chase after. Plenty of room, the kitchen was well stocked and the den was awesome - nice big tv and comfy furniture. Large king sized bed with its own AC unit in the master. Well stay here again.

Peaceful and perfect location

Property location is perfect for proximity to the places we were going, and quiet. Even with the stairs were not a problem for us. It was so nice to stay in this home and have all of the pleasantries of home. Would definitely recommend especially if you enjoy staying active and don’t mind stairs.

Pagosa Summer Fun

This was the perfect house for us! Convenient to town, and also to the National Forest. The house is well equipped and has everything we needed to enjoy our trip. The garage is a plus. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Best place we have stayed in Pagosa ever

We've been to Pagosa at least 4 times, and this was our best stay yet. The house is very comfortable, the king bed is also very comfortable, all the cooking supplies you need, convenient gas grill, handy washer/dryer/dishwasher. Garage space a big bonus and we loved the location. Nicer than staying in town in our opinion & puts you closer to the hikes out Piedra road, which are the best we think. Enjoyed the birds, animals and swing chair in the back yard. Great views from the living room and front deck. Definitely recommend highly.

Plan to stay here again

Nice house, good location. We have stayed in this home before and both times found that it suited our needs well. Things that were important to our stay: Rooms/washer and dryer/garage/kitchen. 3 bedrooms- my boys shared bedroom #2 and my daughter used the room with the bunk bed. The bathroom on the lower level was a good size for them to share. Washer and dryer on that level were helpful to keep all their things down on that level. The kitchen was adequately stocked with cooking supplies. The fireplace was nice to cozy up to when returning from the slopes. The garage barely fit my Ford Explorer but we like staying in a place with a garage so that don't have to deal with car prep before hitting the slopes. Everything was in working order and communication with the owner was easy and timely. I would have no hesitation about staying here again.
