Much to our surprise, the couch in the living area is not a pull out queen bed. It was a trundle bed. We made due. Otherwise great place to stay. Loved the windows for the ceiling of the apartment, great for star gazing and watching planes at night

At first glance, the outside of the property was a little concerning, being in a back alley near dumpsters and a construction site. Once we were inside, though, everything was pristine and well stocked. The location is walkable to Pitt and CMU and there are many bus options available. The host was very communicative and checked in with us multiple times to make sure we were informed. We didn’t spend a lot of time there, but had a comfortable stay.

Pittsburgh Visit

We had a terrific stay! The apartment was large, well stocked and very comfortable. Our communication with the host was great. They were responsive and very friendly. We will definitely think of this place next time.

Apartment was close to where our daughter lives, so very easy. No issues with parking. Very bright. Cool vibe. Comfy bed.

Was very impressed by this booking - the unit was incredibly clean, well furnished, and in a great location. The biggest positive for me was the responsiveness of the caretakers any time any day. This was a HUGE help!!

Great space for our small family. Very clean. Unsure of neighborhood. Couldn’t walk to PITT. Overall a nice stay.

Pitt Panthers

It is about a mile walk from this property to the center of the Pitt campus. There are sidewalks the entire distance. There is unmetered curbside parking next to the property.

Perfect place to stay…

I had a great experience renting this property right from the beginning. The host was kind, helpful, and responsive to any inquiries I had. From the time I arrived everything went smoothly. The property was easy to find and access. It was clean and safe. The apartment blew me away… it had such character, and different from anything I have seen before. The skylight ceiling was amazing and I loved the big bedroom windows. It was under a mile walk to the University of Pittsburgh and other cool shopping areas. I was glad I paid for the indoor parking space. It was convenient and less stressful than trying to find a spot on the street.

Ind Loft Shadyside Oakland 4

Overall, a very nice property. There is a lot of construction around the area but we were able to navigate around. Unit was clean and well-stocked and manager was very responsive to our questions. Only downside is IF you bring a dog, know that there are no green spaces around the area. We had to walk our dog 2 blocks over to find a small area of grass so he could relieve himself. Not a game changer if you don't bring pets. Our daughter lives in North Shore/downtown area and we could easily get there within 15 minutes.

First, the pluses. This apt. is in an IDEAL location and close to almost everything. It's a very quick drive to PPG Paints Arena, the University of Pittsburgh campus, Schenley Park, Phipps Conservatory and the UPMC facilities in Oakland. You're also 10 minutes away from the Strip District, and maybe 15 minutes from downtown. Bed was comfortable, everything in the kitchen appeared to be in good condition and worked well. Host was easy to reach and responded quickly to inquiries via phone and the app.Drawbacks are minor but could be an issue for some. Water pressure in the shower wasn't great, and I found the shower floor was a bit slick when wet. Parking situation is a bit unusual. Street parking is free, but it's on a fairly narrow alley that could use repaving. I opted to pay for the garage across the alley which was fine, but navigating in and out was challenging, especially when someone was parked on the alley immediately outside the garage door. (I drive a MINI Cooper and it was still pretty tight to get in and out. Good luck if you're in a pickup or large SUV.) After hours access was via keypad and was easy enough to manage. Biggest problem for me was the air conditioning. The apartment was plenty cool and the AC works great, it's just incredibly LOUD when it kicks on. If you're a light sleeper, this could become a problem.
