This is a beautiful spacious property. We had plenty of room to relax, play games, and talk! Loved all the outdoor porches! And it’s a short walk to the beach. The elevator is really helpful too.

Great stay with friends

Stayed with a large group of friends and everything was great - location to beach was exceptional too

Great house for a Bachelor/Bachelortte party!!

Rooms are super spacious and the living spaces were made for entertaining!

Definitely not ocean front

The property is listed as ocean front but would only be ocean front during a hurricane, the pool doesn’t have a heater, it’s a beautiful house but we wanted ocean front not a block away from ocean, you have to walk a good distance to get to the ocean

Hi Dennis, I am sorry that you did not like the distance from this home to the beach. It is a stunning home near the beach. I am reviewing our listing and it clearly states "Check out the roof top observation deck for views of the nearby ocean!" - As well as a map that shows the home across the street to the beach. The listing also does not state that the pool was able to be heated, which we would disclose. We do our very best to accurately describe the home and the location. Giving the home a 1star review is unfair as the home is beautiful and quite a lovely place to stay. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss this further - 800-276-8991

Major mold issues. I knew we were in trouble when the front door lock was not working. The door handle was broken. Stair railings rotten and falling apart. Property is ridden with mold! If anyone has medical issues I don’t recommend staying here. Housekeeping was poor. Recent stains on stairs remaining spills on wooden steps. Curtain rod broken and falling off the wall. Absolutely no concern by rental agent to address these issues until I reported a ceiling leak in one of the bedrooms. Poor maintenance guy did his best but this place needs a complete overhaul. V

However, we would like to mention that the home was checked for any mold/mildew issues just recently. The smell is likely the grass cloth wallpaper that covers the foyer and the entire second floor. Big house that met our needs close to the ocean.

The house is surrounded by trees, so that you feel like you're in a treehouse with plenty of shade. One nice surprise was the amount of porch space, though it was too hot during our stay to enjoy it. The house is showing age, but the beds were comfortable and the kitchen is well-stocked. One of the bedrooms that was described as having two double beds in it, only had two twin-size beds, be aware. The HVAC units could use updating, with some bedrooms freezing at first then warming up later at night (perhaps it is on a timer that isn't needed during the summer?) and the main living area never did cool down. The pool is not as big in person, though the caretakers swiftly cleaned it after the tropical storm! Shout out to the power company too, who had to cut off our power to replace a transformer and were accurate in their predictions of how long it would take; very professional guys!

We have updated the description on our website reflecting the double beds are now twin beds. We have it scheduled to look at the thermostat and get that corrected immediately. We want all of our guests to be able to adjust the temperature to their comfort level. Sunset Rentals nor the homeowner have the system set to a schedule – but appreciate you bringing this to our attention. The pool is smaller and we have adjusted the description to now include the dimensions. The pool is well suited for relaxing and is shaded by several surrounding trees. With all the trees, the owner has arranged for twice-a-week cleanings and immediate cleanings after any storm. I hope that you will stay with us again on your next visit to the Isle of Palms.

House is the perfect size for a family trip to the beach. The beds and bedrooms were set up great with most downstairs away from the living areas. We had trouble with the airconditioner that took a bit to fix. They were very fast to respond though and did work to try to get it fixed. The walk to the beach is super easy and the house actually had chairs and toys available which was a nice unexpected find. The kitchen had everything we needed to fix meals for our large crew and the grill downstairs was also great.

Lovely home perfect for large family or friends

Lovely home, perfect for large family or friends. This home was furnished nicely and we were very comfortable there. The large family room was able to accommodate us and the guys got a lot of use out of the pool table. We enjoyed the wraparound porches with lots of seating in shade or sun at all times of the day. Some of us used the pool every day even though the water was chilly because of all the shade from the trees. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for cooking or preparing meals/snacks. We had 2 maintenance issues on two different days. In the morning we called Sunset Rentals and Rich (Maintenance/handyman) was there in the afternoon. He came back the next day with the parts he had ordered. The beds were comfortable and there is a ceiling fan in every bedroom and the living room which is nice. FYI guests should bring bags of coffee (not K cups) & garbage bags. It will save you a trip to the grocery store the first morning. Also it was nice to have an elevator especially to get all your stuff upstairs. We recommend you give this Large and comfortable a try if you are staying in the Charleston area and want to be walking distance to the beach.
