Houghton Lake family fun with all the amenities--sleeps 9+ on prime lake frontage in updated house. The house is situated on a quiet street. Enjoy swimming, water ski and snowboard, kayak, and other water sports in crystal clear Houghton Lake and fabulous sunsets from the deck.
Summer on the lake is more convenient than ever at this inviting lakefront house, complete with a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, and plenty of room for the whole family and group of friends.
Full kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, microwave, toaster etc. provided. TV in the family room and broadband internet Wi-Fi with enough bandwidth for streaming, etc. Bedrooms are spacious. Master Bedroom has king size bed. Second & third bedroom have Queen-size beds and fourth bedroom has 3 twin size beds for kids.
Step outside and watch the sunset from your deck or head down to your patio to enjoy a bonfire on a summer's night.
Boat and jet skis are not available to rent. You can use the dock to moore your boat.
Parking: Driveway (3 vehicles), additional street parking (first-come, first-served)

We loved it! Great time with family and friends on the lake Meat market has the best steaks and smoked fish and sweet corn from the fruit market was like candy!

Thank you! The lake house meet our needs perfectly. Seven adults and a 10 year old. Clean and comfortable with amazing swimming and kayak access. Loved the raft and the large propane grill, thank you! Enjoyed beautiful sunset on the patio.

Good communication with host. House was nice; beds really comfy. Being by the water was great although not warm enough to take advantage of the kayaks or swimming. Great firepit though and wood across the street for purchase. Good location and since we were on motorcycles we took advantage of public transportation after we parked the bikes for the night. Having a garage for the bikes was great too. There are definitely some upgrades that could be done to make this home even better but we really enjoyed our stay. Our favorite dinner spot is Frog’s Tiki Bar!! The food outstanding!!!

The cabin was completely spotless. The kitchen, the 3 bathrooms, the bedrooms and bedding were all spotless. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of dishes and silverware. There was a coffee maker and a keurig. The outdoor grill was very clean and easy to use. The check in was easy. The host communications were quick. The location was great. The outdoor spaces were very nice and clean with plenty of seating options. The cabin has been well maintained. The initial directions I received were not accurate as it directed us to Michigan Avenue which does not exist in Prudenville. Google maps directed us right to the cabin by telling us to drive the wrong way on a one way street! The photos on the listing showed the 4th bedroom with 3 twin beds. Upon arrival inspection I found the access to that bedroom is a 4 foot tall door! You enter into a short tunnel like hallway still about 4 feet tall! Once into the room the ceilings might be 6 feet high. The room was nicely finished and the bedding was very clean. The room would be a real treat for children but not good for 6 adult women. Luckily our youngest lady who is 4'10" was happy to have the room to herself. I would suggest the addition of something to keep a suitcase off the floor in each of the bedrooms. There is a bed and a fan and nothing else in the bedrooms. All that said, we would stay there again.

Great Location

The property was in a great location on the lake. Watched beautiful sunsets every night. Enjoyed using the kayaks. The home itself needs a lot of updating.

Nice location on the water. Very relaxing. Sandy bottom which was a plus.Limited parking was an issue w/ our group. We had 2 trailers that hauled our jet skis & quads. No place to park them except for Walgreens down the road

Great get away!!!

This house had the most fabulous view!!! The house had all the essentials! We even got use of the baby gate for my grandson that paid us a visit while we were there. We will most definitely go back!

Ice fishing trip

Place worked well for my group of friends taking their annual ice fishing trip. We had an issue at the beginning with a mix up with the cleaning crew, but the hosts were available, communicated well (even later in the evening as we didn’t get their til 9pm), and corrected the issue to my liking.Great location. Admittedly, we are an easy group to please (4 men that just want to sit on the ice and fish), but we were happy with our stay.

We would come here again

Overall we loved our stay here. The outside amenities were wonderful, especially kayaks and floating mat. Parking was problematic but we were accommodated nicely by owner and neighbor. Only issue with inside was how small two of the bathrooms were. Owner was very nice to work with and responded quickly to messages. We would come here again.

Wonderful

The house was a home away from home. Everything was great. My brother really enjoyed the big tv. I enjoyed the efficient kitchen. My kids enjoyed the dock and water so close and the front yard tree kept the sun off of me as I sat at the table out front.

There were some safety issues that concerned us. Such as a broken gate laying on the deck, a broken glass deck light on the handrail, a firepit rusted through with ashes in a pile underneath, and a doorwall screen that fell off when we opened it.

Nice for our group of 6

Comfortable and convenient. Beautiful view of lake. We were able to rent a pontoon (elsewhere on the lake) and keep overnight at the house. A little shallow for propeller, but fine if careful. Water has all sandy bottom. No weeds. House a little worn down but worked out just fine.

Large rooms, convenient location

We enjoyed the home. No AC, but good airflow from the breeze off the lake. We had the unfortunate timing of a broken refrigerator in the kitchen, but there was an extra in the back room that worked well. Parking is limited to 3 vehicles, but neighbor helped us with extra space for a price. We didn’t find a toaster, but toaster oven sufficed. Nice the owner provided consumable like tp, paper towels, dish soap, etc

Perfect long weekend getaway on Houghton Lake

We rented this house for 3 families to come together over a long weekend and the memories made will last forever. The house is the perfect size for 6 adults and 3-4 kids, and man did the kids think the bonus room was awesome! The porch and patio were perfect for eating meals, enjoying a bonfire, and chalk art. We had no issue getting our pontoon around or docked. The parking is tight, but you can fit 3 full-size trucks in if you don’t mind getting cozy. Like most dog-friendly properties, we weren’t expecting the Ritz, but it was cozy and comfortable for us to relax and not worry about a little sand on our feet. Neighborhood was great and close to everything you could need. We would definitely rent this home again.

Golf Trip

House is nice and in a great location. Right on the water. The problem is the 4th bedroom. Unless you are under 4 feet tall you have to almost get on your hands and knees to get in and no place to stand up. The 3rd bathroom is in a separate part of the house. It would be better to put a bed in there and call it the 4th bedroom. Parking is a problem if more the 3 cars.

Biggest problem was communication. We arrived and the driveway was far too small to park our truck and boat trailer. Tried to contact the host via VRBO messenger and no response. Tried calling and it went straight to voicemail. We spent hours driving around town trying to find somewhere that would let us park our trailer overnight. Knocked on neighbors doors, wasted the entire evening. Heard back from the property host the following day.

A nice cozy cottage suited for children

Six of us stayed at this lakefront home for five nights including two sets of grandparents and our son and grandson. Our comments mirror some that have been previously submitted. The house served as a cozy and relaxing base for breakfast and sleeping, as we spent most of our days at a large family gathering nearby. The lake views were beautiful, and the environment was peaceful. The house could use some updates, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms. The layout includes three bedrooms and a small bathroom upstairs (shower only), along with one bedroom and two bathrooms downstairs, one small shower only and one more normal size, downstairs. The bedrooms are comfortably sized, although one upstairs room, with about a small four-foot entrance, is better suited for children, who would likely find it fun. However, we could not locate the toaster, and some desirables not included were a dishwasher, luggage racks or dressers in the bedrooms and air conditioning. We did encounter some maintenance issues during our stay. The clothes dryer vent wasn’t properly connected, several electrical outlets in one bedroom were missing covers and had some plugs that wouldn’t stay in. The upstairs toilet was leaking around the base. We did send a text of our concerns to the phone number provided, but unfortunately, we didn’t receive a response. The home is reasonably priced for what it offers but be aware that the front door lock can be temperamental.

Property is in a great location! House was lakefront and offered excellent water amenities. Homes are a little close together. Front door lock is a little messed up.

Pretty nice spot.

The cabin is roomy with a lot of sleeping spaces and 3 bathrooms. There were some electric outlets that didn’t work and lights that didn’t work. Nice to have the kayaks and swim mat. Bed pillows were not very good. We had fun and didn’t feel like we had to be super careful with the use of the cottage. Could be better with a few upgrades.
