Excellent place!

We had an excellent stay! The cabin is set up well with larger bedrooms and plenty of open space in the living area. Both bathrooms were clean. The kitchen has plenty of counter space. The house has a great view of the lake. The back yard offers plenty of shade. Overall a great property!

Property was everything we expected. Nice waterfront place with 2 baths and 3 bedrooms. Very comfortable. The only slight knock on the property might be the exterior cleanliness. It could have been a little better in that regard.

Sunrise on the lake!

Very cute, updated cottage on the lake! Gorgeous views of the sunrise every morning with our coffee. Nice shallow water off the dock for kids to swim. We rented a pontoon for the week and having the dock to tie off to was great. The owners have kayaks available for use as well. Property owner was very quick to respond to a few questions we had. Adding a dishwasher would be my only suggestion!

All-around Excellent!

Our family comes to Houghton/Higgins lake every year, and this has been our favorite place to stay. The check in was simple and the home was clean, furnished beautifully, and decorated to make it feel like home. The home had everything we needed and more, from plenty of towels, to tons of dishes/cooking items - along with spices and simple pantry items. The kayaks were fun to use, and the private dock makes renting a pontoon for the week easy and stress-free. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The backyard was large and shaded with nice landscaping. The patio furniture was comfortable and the solar powered lights were a nice touch. Our family was really bummed when the power went out for 2 days, but the hosts were extremely communicative, and more than accommodating, offering us a partial refund, a free night in the future, and even a hotel stay if we wished. A generator was hooked up for us, and the hosts went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable during this situation that was out of their control. I am looking forward to returning next summer. Thank you, hosts!!

Foto de perfil del anfitrión
Hello, my name is Nathan. My wife and I, as well as two of our great friends purchased this house back in December of 2020. Our dream, for the longest time, was to own a piece of property up north that we could retreat to. All four of us stay very busy in our personal lives with our careers, education, as well as raising children. Unfortunately it’s very difficult to make the drive, and enjoy it as much as we would like. We do know however, the importance of getting away from our busy schedules and the stressors of every day life. What better way to relax than on the water? That’s why we decided to open up our Lake House to every one of you. We hope that you can utilize our house in a way to relax, enjoy life, and create memories with family and friends that will last a lifetime!

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

This cute and up to date home is located in Houghton Lake Heights right off M-55. The street is quiet and nestled on a dead end road with minimal traffic which is ideal for families with young children. We are lakefront property which means that you step foot into the backyard and there it is. There is no “commute” or so called access to the lake. You have your own private dock to tie your own boat to during the summer months. This house has been renovated throughout, and has a charming and warm feel. Let this be the next house you rent to create those amazing memories with friends and family!

Due to the pandemic we’ve taken extra steps to ensure that your stay with us is safe, and brings peace of mind. Prior to your stay, our cleaner uses a Rainbow Cleaning System that is certified to clean the air and environment, which also reduces odors, as well as allergens. Furthermore, she uses an electrostatic handheld sprayer that expels a hospital grade disinfectant cleaner on hard surfaces.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Waterfront property, with a large lot, and private dock to utilize for boats and ski’s.
