Bigger than it looks!

Host is very conscientious. All three bedrooms are generous, and kitchen/living/dining space on first floor accommodates family life nicely.

Perfect!

We enjoyed ourselves so much! From the kindness of the owner to let us check in early (we had a 1 month old and a 2.5 year old!!) and everything you could possibly need to prepare food, to a beautiful porch for morning coffee and the closeness town and the beach, we thoroughly enjoyed every minute! We had to leave early due to my dad passing and the folks at the ferry went above and beyond to get us on the earliest ferry out. We are hoping to stay again next year. It’s paradise!

Great house

This house is perfectly located and was enough space for 3 couples. My cousins, our husbands and I stayed here and had an amazing weekend. The owner of the property was more than accommodating and was easy to contact. We would highly recommend this home for your stay on Block Island.

Late October on The Block

Snug cottage in a great in-town location with views of the water and the town. Very comfortable with a nice little porch and side yard. We had a wonderful time.

Awesome place! Great Location

We are a family of 5 but kids brought friends which made 7 of us! We absolutely loved this location as it's literally a 5 minute walk up high street near the ferry and ballards. We took our car because we brought our own food etc. But we didn't really use it only to drive around the island. We stayed at Ballards at the beach for 2 days so it was perfect for all of us to walk. Next door was an amazing farm with Camels, lemurs, kangaroos, and much more! We found it because someone told us to stop over and they had music. The house was clean very well stocked with towels, beach chairs, cooking utensils, pans, sheets, pillows, and blankets. The owner Douglas was very attentive and very nice. Next time we go back to the island we will most certainly be staying here! Thank you Douglas for an incredible vacation! We truly loved every moment of being there together as a family.

Steps away from all the action

Nice tidy property just up from downtown. Everything as advertised, great owner communication. Our kids (in their 20's) loved the spot. No need for a car!

Nice home

Our family really enjoyed staying at the blue house. It was well equipped to make meals, enough room for five adults, loved spending time on the front porch, and we were able to walk to town. We would definitely rent again.

New to Block Island

Easy access to downtown but it's at the top of High St, so a bit of a hike. Plenty of space for 4 people.

Great for families!

3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, perfect for our family! The outdoor living area was great with picnic tables, new outdoor couches, chairs and tables plus plenty of room for the kids to run around in! Location was great…. Walking distance to great dining, moped/bike rental, the ferry, shops and much, much more! Douglas was an amazing host, quick and eager to help with any issue or question we had! Thanks for allowing us to stay in you Block Island home!

Perfect stay for 3 couples exploring Block Island

Excellent Place !!! Perfect hideaway for 3 couples to explore Block Island. Clean, quiet and fairy close to the Ferry just a short walk up a slight hill. Because it's such a nice place in a convenient location, when we return to Block Island, we will stay here again.

Perfect cottage escape

We loved this cottage! Amazing space for our party of 7, very clean and stocked well. We enjoyed distant water views from the porch, walking into town and great communication with the owner and caretaker. Will definitely return!

Great location if you want to be near town!

I stayed at this property in Sept. 2021 during the "shoulder season". The house was perfect for the 4 of us and we liked the location seeing it was off season. I would imagine during the busy season the house might get a little loud because there are other houses very near by. A few unique things about the house -- it had satellite TV and A/C! I typically never watch TV while on BI but it was nice to have the option on a rainy day. Communications with Douglas was excellent and we appreciated that he checked in to make sure we had no issues.

We loved our stay at the "Blue House". It is a great location -- near town but not in town. The house provided all we needed. We would rent it again and recommend it to others.

Wonderful Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time on our family vacation. Douglas was quick to respond and very detailed in all communication. The house was very clean and in a convenient location. The only thing that could’ve made it better is a longer vacation! We didn’t want to leave. Thank you for your hospitality!!

Great experience

This is a great gem! Host Douglas and Molly Kennedy have put together a great getaway cottage that’s clean, spacious enough for families, two good size bathrooms along with an outdoor shower with air conditioning if you want it…We arrived just before hurricane Henri hit New England , passing right over the island actually and Douglas was quick to check in on us making sure we were ok and providing direct contact information if we needed anything… Thank you Douglas and Molly for both your hospitality and concern for our well-being! We had an amazing time on the island and hope to return next year!

Cozy and Comfortable

I thought the house was going to be small, but we had plenty of space. Great location, close to harbor, restaurants and shops. Short bike ride to beach. The house is on a hill (high street) so you do have an ocean view, but the ride home each day is a little tiring. We got more exercise on this vacation than we anticipated! Probably a good thing considering all ice cream and food we ate! Our host was very responsive. Overall great place and enough room for two small families.

Noteworthy Renovations!

My family and I have been staying at this property for the past 14 years and have experienced a few different owners. This year we were pleasantly surprised to see some much needed improvements! Improvements that made our stay even that more enjoyable. This included a 2nd bathroom, outdoor shower and a washer and dryer! The house was freshly painted, the floors redone and new furniture! Although we aren't in the house much to enjoy the added TV's or wifi they are a great benefit on a bad weather day. There was even a brand new grill! We had contemplated this being our last time in this house since everyone is growing up and growing out of the space but these welcomed additions have changed our minds! Douglas and Molly were also wonderful hosts. Molly was there on our first day to greet us and make sure everything we needed was available. Douglas was also reachable if we had any questions! Congratulations to them for renewing the property that had much needed TLC. Looking forward to year 15!
