Maple Lane Lake House

A family built log house by a shared private lake. Because of the size of the house we charge a 4 people base price, and $15 per person per night over that. We have a sandy beach area designated for the place and separated from a neighbor's sandy beach by a row of evergreens. Very relaxing place to bring your family and friends. Beautiful quiet setting to enjoy God's creation. Enjoy hearing the birds from your open window early in the morning, or the rooster crowing to announce the arrival of another day. Take a tour of the farm and garden for a relaxing stroll, or launch a canoe in the lake for a peaceful water adventure. If you enjoy visiting, we are happy to learn to know our vacationers, and spend some time answering questions or discussing the farm and garden, and more.

Great family location

Wonderful location for our large family group. Kids enjoyed the water and seeing the farm animals. It had plenty of outside activities to keep them busy. Porches were great for sitting and watching them or just absorbing the beautifully area.

Great place for family

This place was perfect for us. We were in town from out of state with family for my daughter's wedding. The place has lots to enjoy outdoors and is peaceful.

What a wonderful place. Our second stay.

We truly enjoy staying here. It’s beautiful and out of the way and you won’t be bothered. It’s a working farm/log cabin builder so you get to see some real neat sites and if you love animals you won’t be disappointed. I’d give them 6 stars if possible and recommend anyone give it a try.

Perfect for a large group

Our stay was for a family Christmas with family members coming from different parts of Canada and the US. The lake house was plenty big enough for our whole group and offered loads of options for both indoor and outdoor activities. The cottage was clean and well appointed and anything we needed help with was quickly explained or corrected by the host who was readily available. It was a lovely stay.

Beautiful Getaway

Our family of four stayed here with friends last fall and were greeted by an amazing landscape in full fall color. This year we returned and brought some new families to enjoy the serenity and peace this property had to offer. It is close to Cadillac for shopping and hikes at Wm. Mitchell State Park. Some of our group chose to stay on the grounds and enjoy the sounds and sights of the neighboring farms. Everyone had a wonderful time!

Coming back next year!

Another great stay. Beautiful home. Clean. So thankful for all the extra leaves for the table, so we could all eat together. Beautiful area. Loved the zip line, walks in the woods, and even getting a chance to see (and talk to 😁) the chickens, goats, and pigs.

Great stay

My family and I came to the area for our annual ski weekend. We enjoyed house very much--and would stay again. Our host was friendly and available for questions. The layout of the space worked well for our large group with plenty of chairs, couch space and room to expand. The kitchen was complete with everything we could need & we like to do a lot of cooking. Bathrooms were generously supplied with towels and amenities.

Large Groups or Quite get away

The pictures do not show how beautiful this place really is. There is so many activities outside. The inside is huge. It was nice to get my family all together in one place. I don't want to forget to mention how clean it was! Hands down we decided we will be coming back!

Relaxing and peaceful

Our week here was just wonderful! Our kids enjoyed the lake so much… the kayaks, rowboat and canoes, the rope swing and fishing were excellent. The house was as pictured and completely stocked with everything you might need. The ping pong table got lots of use as did the available games. We also loved seeing the animals and their babies. We highly recommend this property to families large and small! Property manager Jesse was attentive to our needs in a timely fashion.

Wonderful family vacation

Wonderful hosts who were very attentive and wanted to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Beautiful piece of land, enjoyed the lake and the Zipline and the kayaks, canoes and paddle boat. Very clean! Provided all linens and even toilet paper and body washes in the bathrooms. We had a wonderful time as a family, enjoying God's creation. The decks were wonderful with plenty of seating, we enjoyed the fire pit and swings as well. I've already recommended to a few family members. We would absolutely go back!!

Good value property

Our family found this property to be a good choice for the price. We had a group of 12 adults (5 couples, 2 singles), and the house seemed like it would be even better suited for a family with children. It was clean and the hosts were attentive with any questions we had throughout the week. Cons: The listing advertises air conditioning, but it only has a single (although large) standing window AC unit for the entire house. Our stay was in June and the upstairs bedrooms got uncomfortably hot. We opened windows to cool down in the evening, but not all windows had screens. No dishwasher. We bought paper plates & cups to avoid spending additional time on meal cleanup for our large group. Pros: Great common spaces. The kitchen has lots of counter space and good appliances (including an electric griddle & coffee pot), the dining table sat 12 comfortably, and the couches appeared new. The outside deck has plenty of chairs & a beautiful view of the lake. The large mudroom/laundry room was convenient. Beautiful setting with on-property activities. The house is on a lake shared with a couple other cabins. Canoes and kayaks are provided and some of us swam in the lake. There is a produce garden & a few farm animals near the house that made the scene picturesque. There is an outdoor fire pit (wood provided when we asked), swingset, trampoline, and a covered sandbox. Other Notes: There are a lot of beds, but the bedroom situation was weird for our group since we had so many adults & couples. The beds in the basement do not have privacy (some are in the common space and the basement bedroom only has a curtain as a door) and seemed better suited for kids. Three bathrooms for our group of 12 was tight, but there were plenty of towels and the host provided basic toiletries which was a nice surprise. We bought a pack of toilet paper mid-week. The wi-fi was a Verizon hotspot with limited connectivity. This wasn't surprising for a remote cabin, but worth noting as a few in our group needed internet for work/school responsibilities. We used a lot of data and personal hot spots to supplement. There are very few outlets in the house, especially in bedrooms. We couldn't find campfire roasting sticks but we used tree branches. There is a rule against bikinis in the lake so be sure your group packs accordingly. There aren't any televisions. In summary this property has a few quirks but it was decent stay for the price and a nice getaway for our family!

Great little get away

Over all our stay was very enjoyable, there are many activities to do here from the boats down to the board games provided, if you are looking for peace and quiet you definitely found it it’s in the middle of beautiful wooded scenery on a little lake that’s so stunning! If you plan on going out there is some distance from the neighboring city but over all great experience

Mushroom hunting trip

What a great, peaceful place. From the eagle watching over us at the fire pit to morning coffee on the deck overlooking the lake. I would definitely stay here again!

We are within 15 miles of Cadillac that has next to everything, and to many large & small lakes. We are back on a small 7 acre private deep lake. Our only neighbor is our Son & family that can't be seen from the rental. The year round green hemlock trees are worth a million dollars when it comes to private. The view from the kitchen table is priceless, water foul and color etc.
