"Get Kracken" is an awesome newly-remodeled two story, 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath beachfront home with gorgeous ocean views from the large front deck and upper deck off the upstairs bedrooms. Massive beachfront deck with sunny and shaded areas including a picnic table. Enter the home into a large open concept space with living, dining and kitchen area. Comfortable seating for all around a Roku TV with digital antenna for local channels and classic TV shows and movies. Master suite with king bed just off first floor living area. Laundry area near the kitchen with half bath and second fridge for your convenience. At the top of the stairs on the second floor is a bedroom with pyramid bunk and private bathroom, and another bedroom with full size bunk and jack 'n jill bath shared with a beachfront bedroom with queen bed and bunk. Fifth bedroom is a beachfront suite with king bed and private bathroom. Also on the beach side you'll find a sitting room with a day bed that can sleep two. All upstairs beachfront rooms have access to the deck.

Bottled water for drinking is recommended.

Great location

We have a few minor complaints- no starter trash bags or paper towels. There was also nothing to clean with. I’d have like to have Clorox wipes or something. Or known to bring them. Well stocked kitchen, great communication. Also perfect location and size for us 10. Nothing that would keep us from returning. I know The island has had a rough time. So I’ll chalk it up to Just a few minor things.

Get kraken

The stay was pleasant, weather didn’t cooperate with us but we still made the best of the situation. The home has two balconies where you can just hang out and look out at the gulf. This is our second year we have stayed there.

Great atmosphere.

Great location just off the beach. That allowed us to make trips back and forth easily when any of the kids needed anything. Lots of bathrooms made cleaning up after a day on the beach a breeze. Had one concern when we first got there that was promptly resolved by the property manager.

We loved this house

We really enjoyed this house. It was perfect! Only a couple steps away from the beach. Very clean and comfortable.

Great views with a few issues

The property was plenty big for all of us and it was great that we all each had our own bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked great upstairs and on the main floor. The view is absolutely amazing and the beach is right there for easy access. The house could definitely use some updating with more modern faucets, ceiling fans, etc. The doors on the bedrooms to the outside also do not have blinds which leaves your room completely open to the beach at night with the light on. All of this was not a big deal and just minor inconveniences but as someone who really looks at reviews prior to booking a house, I figure I would include it all. The big problem we had WAS COCKROACHES! We saw so many of them. I did message the property manager and they did have someone come out and spray on day 5 of our 7 day stay. The last night there, we found one on our bed so I did not get that much sleep as I kept imagining they were crawling on me. Otherwise we saw them mostly in the kitchen area. All in all, I would possibly stay again but would be hesitant because of the cockroaches. That was a big problem for me and if it wasn’t for the fact we saw them on night 2 and spent so much money on the property, I would have moved houses.

Heaven

We went on this trip to get away from it all what we encountered was paradise. This has been the best vacation that we have spent while all we did was relax. Having the beach right in your front porch was second to none. Would stay here again as often as possible.

Wonderful location, shows just like pictures

My family and I really enjoyed the property and the location was amazing, no stress of loading up a car load of stuff the beach was just steps away. Plenty of room for a full family.

Annual Beach Trip

We stayed at Matts for the second year in a row and it fit us well. The access to the beach was super close and the porch was a great hang out space.

Matt is awesome!

Stayed here for a couple of days this month(Nov 2022). The whole process, right from when the property was reserved to check out was smooth. Matt was super responsive and helped answer any question I had. I would definitely recommend this property

Roomy beachfront house

More than enough space for our big family. Big kitchen and with it being beachfront, lovely views. Easy to get too. One of the bedding was dirty when we arrived, but thankfully there's a washer/dryer and detergent.

House was beautiful, very clean and stocked with everything you could imagine.

Owner of property was very nice and helpful. We are already planning a week long vacation and this is hopefully where we will be staying. House was excellent and very pretty.

Clean and great for multi-family groups

House smelled wonderful when we entered. We loved the layout and the fact each room had its own bathroom. Right on the beach, quiet neighbors. (Water in the house had a weird, yellow tint, but listing says to bring bottled water to drink.)

Great Stay!

We were very impressed with the size of the property and how close it was to the beach. We usually go to Surfside at the end of the summer and have enjoyed doing that every year!

Great beach views

My family and I enjoyed our stay at “The Kracken” beach house. The view was amazing to wake up to everyday and we loved that we were just a short walk away from the beach. Matt was easy to contact and quick to respond to any messages. Very spacious living/kitchen area; big enough for my whole family of 12. It was only a short drive away from a few restaurants/gas stations and about a 20 minute drive to the Lake Jackson Wal-Mart. Definitely can’t wait to come back again!

Great Place!

This is a great house to stay at and location is perfect. All communication was quickly answered and great to work with. House is perfect with 5 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths. There is a loft area upstairs also and the living room and kitchen were spacious. Deck was very nice and big. My family and I all enjoyed staying here. We will be back next year!

Annual Beach Trip

My husband and I take an annual trip to Surfside with another couple. Between the two couples there are 4 adults. We LOVED Get Kracken! It had plenty of space for all of us and two masters for the adults! It was close enough to the beach that the kids could go back and forth without us and we could still watch them. The porch was amazing for meals and evening dance parties. We will be back next year!

Great house

All 12 of us enjoyed the beach house very much! The location was great and it truly had everything that we needed. I kinda wished it had an outdoor shower but we made it just fine with the water hose. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved Get Kracken!

This house was just perfect! Everything was clean and organized. It was wonderfully stocked with items you might need and when traveling with small children it’s hard to remember everything so we really appreciated this! Matt was great and responded to communications quickly! This was not our first rental in Surfside but it was our best!

Surfside Vacation

Property is right on the beach. Walkway over the dunes is 30 feet away from the front door. Property well represented by the photos online. We would absolutely stay there again.

Beautiful gulf view, right on the beach, unobstructed view. House was very comfortable for all of us. 7 adults, 2 toddlers & an infant. Will definitely book again.
