Casa Hibiscus is conveniently located in the quiet Muneco neighborhood at the foot of Mt. Resaca. We offer 4 bedrooms/2 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrella, beach toys, and beach coolers. There are 4 outdoor patios, outdoor shower, & bamboo fencing for privacy. Location is 2 miles from Flamenco beach & a few minutes from town, the ferry, the airport & many other Caribbean beaches. We offer 2 window ACs in the two downstairs bedrooms. We offer ceiling fans in every room of the house. Casa Hibiscus hosts up to 8 guests.

comfortable & relaxing

It had everything we needed for a relaxing 4 days snorkeling on Culebra; a well-designed house with separate spaces, beautiful outdoor patios, private yard and quiet*, friendly neighbors. Just be aware that chickens (and roosters) range freely on Culebra, expect them to make their presence known at all hours, you may want ear plugs to sleep. We loved it. Thanks Dawn!

A Home Away from Home

Dawn is an excellent host. She provided much need information to find house. The property is well maintained and you get the best of both worlds, a country side location and 5 min away from one of the top 10 beaches in the world. Upon walking in, the house felt like home, fresh, roomy and well organized, and thus far, we felt completely detach from the world and back to our roots. I suggests you experience the beauty of Culebra at Dawn's property.

Was not what was expected

Property had bugs everywhere. Ants crawling on every counter, spiders and lizards everywhere inside, my children got dozens of bites while inside the house sleeping. Only two rooms had working AC, and lastly the only TVs when we wanted to wind down at end of day were in rooms without AC. The property did supply scuba gear, kayaks (but didn’t tell me), chairs, small cooler and filtered water which was great and our visit to Flamenco Beach and Tamarindo Beach was amazing! Please note property is tucked back on other side of airport so long drive to everything. There is also a very determined rooster who likes to wake you up at dawn very close to house. After checkout the owners messaged me very late at night (11 PM) to tell me, we left cushions out of place (futon mat on floor by TV three feet from where it was when we arrived) which we pulled out because the tiny couch and only sits 2 people. That we left blankets and other things out on couches Etc.

I am happy you enjoyed the amenities Casa Hibiscus has to offer as well as our amazing beaches and snorkeling spots. We do supply indoor bugs zappers and bug sprays for those pesky tropical critters. They can get in anytime the door is left open and the ants will grab any opportunity if food is not cleaned off the counters or dishes aren’t kept washed up. Lizards are part of tropical environment of Culebra. They are everywhere and so cool wot watch. We don’t kill the lizards but sweep them outside when we notice them. The run inside when doors are open. Lizards eats bugs too. I have advertised on the rental listing that there are two ACs in two of the bedrooms for night time sleeping only. This is stated in the house rental agreement and house rules that ACs. The AC information is also stated in two parts of the property description. I apologize that you misunderstood the property description. I will update it to make it more clear on the number of ACs and their locations. Roosters are free range all over Culebra. Know one owns them or can control. As the saying goes, “The roosters crow at the break of dawn”. We do supply earplugs for every rental which really helps with the island roosters and there crowing in the early morning hours. This will always be a part of Culebra. We do not offer kayaks. They are not listed as one of the amenities. The kayak on the property is behind our house workshop and not available for guest use. This is why you were not told about it. So sorry about the confusion. I hope you will have good memories of Culebra and not just the bugs, roosters, and lizards that inhabit our island paradise. Bug spray is essential in Culebra and ear plugs do help. Thank you for your feedback. I am happy you enjoyed Culebra and the Casa Hibiscus amenities.

Comfortable

At first we had a little difficulty finding the place, but once there it was a pleasant stay. We drove to around the idland and enjoyed our stay.
