Our quiet 4 bedroom, three bath home has 2022 square feet of living space with100 feet of water frontage on Big Shag Lake. The walk in beach has no drop off and is great for kids and adults alike. You'll love our western sunsets directly across the lake while relaxing under the gazebo or on the huge deck. A roll in dock is available for launching your own boat and we provide all the toys and accessories expected with lake living. A Weber charcoal grill, a propane gas grill and smoker are available for your outdoor cooking needs. We even have a 6 person cedar barrel sauna for use!
Only 5 miles from downtown Gwinn, 25 miles from Marquette, 40 miles from Munising and most importantly only 1 mile to the fabulous UpNorth Lodge!
Great for vacationers wanting to hit central Upper Michigan’s ATV, snowmobile, and ski trails or venture out on day trips to beaches and waterfalls! Fish for bluegill, perch, bass and northern pike just feet from the back door and deck.

I was very impressed by how well stocked the kitchen was. Dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans etc. Not usually the case in previous places.

Great place for a gathering of family. Lots of room. The upstairs bedrooms ok but the low clearance dangerous, finish was very rough texture. Sharp edges make getting close to the ceiling painful and actually drawing blood.Would recommend sanding entire enough to knock of the spikes in the texture

We loved the beautiful setting of Carrie and Mo's beautiful cozy home. They have equipped thier home with everything one would need along with a beautiful sauna, yard games, a paddle boat, canoe and kayaks! We hope to stay again when we visit the area.

We loved the Big Shag Lake house. The kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance and pots and pans anyone could need. The room overlooking the lake was our favorite, very comfortable and great place to hang with a group.

Beautiful Stay
Awesome place to relax on the water. They have all the water toys and the deck to relax on! We will for sure be back!

Quiet getaway
We enjoyed our time here. Kitchen was well stocked, lots of comfortable spaces to relax. Enjoyed using the kayaks on the beautiful lake 😊

Beautiful location
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The lake is beautiful, lots of water toys to keep everyone happy. The house is well stocked and clean. It is very quiet and peaceful!

Big Shag Retreat
Property well appointed, had everything. So many nice areas to just sit back and enjoy the beauty of the Lake.

Great Lake getaway
Great property on the lake as described. We enjoyed the kayak, paddle-board and paddle boat daily. Plenty of space for 7 people to sleep and enjoy.

Fun for all ages
We had a wonderful time boating, fishing, and relaxing. The home is beautiful and so is the lake and sunsets. Perfect, family get-a-way!!

Perfect place for family vacation!
Very easy to rent. Contact with owner was easy and had an answer to questions asked. We used this as "home base", did day trips as well as visiting friends in the area.

Fantastic Property
Very impressed with the property. We has enough room for our group to spread out and enjoy our stay. Lake has amazing views and sunsets are gorgeous! Host was very responsive when needed.

Perfect UP getaway
This home was perfect for our family vacation, with plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 kids. Location was great, easy to take day trips to Marquette and Pictured Rocks. Or just hanging out on the lake and taking in beautiful sunsets. Highly recommend!

Weekend Getaway
We had a nice stay and enjoyed the sauna! The home is not baby proofed but had a nice view over the lake.

Accurate description
Our family of 5 had a great week on Big Shag! It’s a good fishing lake and we enjoyed some trips to Marquette as well.
