The Haven - Kiamichi Mountain Riverside Cabin

The Haven is a riverside cabin nestled in the Kiamichi Mountains on the banks of beautiful Little River. It’s a remote location and serenity at it's best. NO PETS ALLOWED!

The Haven has two bedrooms. One has a queen bed and one has a twin bunk bed. The living room is equipped with a sleeper sofa. The Haven also has a fully furnished kitchen, a walk around deck, separate riverside deck with table, fire pit, and a picnic area. The Haven is located right on the river, which has black bass, small mouth, bluegill, and some catfish perfect for Spring and Summer fishing or kayaking for the whole family. Kayaks are provided no extra charge. Firewood for fire pit is also provided no extra charge. In order to keep our cabin as clean as possible for every guest no pets are allowed at the Haven.

It’s located 20 miles from Clayton, OK, 42 miles from Antlers, OK, 63 miles from Hugo, OK, 35 miles from Smithville, OK, and 49 miles from Hochatown, OK.

What a great long weekend

Everything is just as pictured and the use of the kayaks on site even made our stay batter. The hosts were friendly and helpful which is always nice. The river was low due to no rain but we still enjoyed ourselves. The hot days let me get a good nap on the comfy couch.

Great place to get away

We loved The Haven. I wanted to get away from the city and work and this was the perfect spot. The cabin was perfect for us and the kitchen is great. Heather was a great host and was very easy to communicate with. Make sure you bring water shoes if you plan on playing in the river as it has a rocky bottom. My favorite part was mindlessly floating on the river and listening to nature.

Picked for wrong reason in mind

As far as the cabin, excellent, check in was so easy, never seen anyone, talked to Heather on phone only, when I did contact her, very helpful and kind. When we walked in, soothing music playing. We wanted to relax, it was perfect for me, but the main reasoning for this trip was my husband hasnt been fishing in along time, it was his vacation from work, to go fishing. No easy access to fish, are even easy access to put the kayaks in the water, and you have to get them yourself. My husband and I walked down the side of the steep hill to fish, it was more work trying to fish. Were 61 and 59 years of age. We did load up 2 kayaks, brought back to the cabin, they stayed in the truck overnight and brought back the next day. Not an easy access to put them in the water at all. We checked out a day early and went home. Overall if you want to get away from the face pace of life, enjoy a beautiful scenery, stay in a beautiful and very nice cabin , no one bothering you at all, enjoy a fire pit, wood provided, a cabin with everything, where all you have to bring is your clothes and food. Sat on the back porch enjoying nature and overlooking the river, watching turtles, I would diffently recommend this place. I would truly love to come back and enjoy some TLC, without a pole lol.

Lovely spot, peaceful and fun!!

We spent Memorial Day weekend fishing in the river (which was great!), hiking in the area, swimming, reading and eating great food. The Haven was the perfect spot to rest, relax, explore, and is just enough off the grid to feel like you have the land and river all to yourself. We will be back!!

Beautuful, peaceful cabin

Everything was good. The area is beautiful, but rather remote. The owner communicated ahead of time about the cabin, to make sure we brought ice as the closest store is 25 minutes away. She also dropped off kayaks for us to use. The cabin itself is very comfortable and clean. The owners put some effort into creating lovely paths and areas around the cabin.

Amazing Getaway

We had the best time at this property. The peace and serenity are second to none. We woke up to the babbling river, fished all day, and dined under the bright stars at night. We will be back. We left our hearts here.

Perfect starry night

This remote cabin is a hidden gem! You get the beauty of nature and star gazing but the cleanliness and modern amenities in the cozy cabin. The hosts were so helpful and kind. Our family loved this place!

The Haven...great cabin

I have stayed in 13 cabins in southeastern Oklahoma during the past 16 years. The Haven is one of the nicest cabins for sure, super clean and stocked with everything one might need during a visit. Best feature of this cabin is that it sides on the bank of Little River. Hope to make another visit in the near future. Gary D.

Wow.

We all loved this place! Absolutely beautiful. Heather let us check in early, and check out late. Loved the kayaking and river. Was a big hit with the whole group. We were already making plans to come back again.

Absolute fantastic stay

Boy, what a wonderful location.although the ri er was low, my husband and son enjoyed the kayaks and the view from the river. Huge boulders and roxky cliffs all along the property made us feel as if we were staying at a private nature reserve. The pathway was decorated with beautiful potted flowers all along the trail. We could not ask for anything more as the hosts provided all we could think of. We did see a bobcat one morning slowly walking the trail. What a sight! She was about 25 feet from us at first as she stood and looked about .

Beautiful cabin, great location for some R&R

My family and I loved it. Owners brought us kayaks and a canoe which we used everyday. We caught 3 perch, 3 black bass, and 1 large mouth bass. We plan to go back!

Very Relaxing

Our family had the best time just relaxing and enjoying the view, swimming, fishing and making smores. Such a beautiful property the pictures don't do it justice. Peaceful and secluded just what we needed to recharge.

You will not be disappointed

Exactly as pictured and described, but better. Impeccable attention to detail, the owners go out of the way to ensure you will have an enjoyable stay. We especially had a great time on the kayaks, which was really nice to have available at our leisure. It seemed as if we had the entire river to ourselves. We definitely would recommend this place to all.

Absolutely incredible place!

Once I arrived on the property, I was speechless! The cabin was immaculate! It was so clean, beautifully decorated, and welcoming. The scenery and little hike on the trail were amazing. This rental is the cleanest and most organized my husband and I have ever rented. The bed was so comfortable and cozy. Also, the communication with the owner was on the spot. We will be back!!! Highly recommended!

Beautiful Place

This is a great place disconnect and enjoy the peacefulness. We loved the places you could sit and just enjoy the views and watch the wildlife. My girls had a ball catching frogs and tadpoles! We all had a blast getting to kayak and canoe when we could. Unfortunately, there was a lot of rain while we were there. It was ok though, we got to play a ton of games in the cabin and under the large covered porch that faces the river. All and all we had a very relaxing time. ***Cal is was one of the best hosts I've ever had at a VRBO!!! Thank you so much for being patient with me***

Absolute Serenity

The Haven was such a wonderful place. It’s secluded and serene. You hear nothing but the sounds of nature. The cabin and property are so well maintained, one cannot put it all into words. Cal and Heather are amazing & supply the place with so much more than any other place we’ve stayed. We kayaked the River and it was SO much fun!!! We will stay again and We HIGHLY recommend this 5 star tranquil getaway for anyone needing some peace and quiet in their lives.

Tranquil Paradise on the River

Cal and his wife could not have been better hosts. They have so many amenities it’s amazing! They are super easy-going and are available if you need anything. The river view is one of the best. The birds and frogs are all you can hear which is so much better than traffic. We kayaked the river and it was beautiful. Another bonus is the couch and beds were very comfortable! We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. If you’re looking for a quiet peaceful place to De stress and relax then I highly recommend!!

You’ll want to return again and again…

This property has fast become a favorite place of ours. With our hectic schedules we rarely have the ability to just relax and “be”. A serene, secluded, hideaway to do exactly that is what the Webb’s have provided. Since last year, the property has only been improved upon. Clean, with the tiniest attention to detail, particularly if you enjoy the outdoors, there is something for everyone at the cabin!
