The Haven - Kiamichi Mountain Riverside Cabin

The Haven is a riverside cabin nestled in the Kiamichi Mountains on the banks of beautiful Little River. It’s a remote location and serenity at it's best. NO PETS ALLOWED!

The Haven has two bedrooms. One has a queen bed and one has a twin bunk bed. The living room is equipped with a sleeper sofa. The Haven also has a fully furnished kitchen, a walk around deck, separate riverside deck with table, fire pit, and a picnic area. The Haven is located right on the river, which has black bass, small mouth, bluegill, and some catfish perfect for Spring and Summer fishing or kayaking for the whole family. Kayaks are provided no extra charge. Firewood for fire pit is also provided no extra charge. In order to keep our cabin as clean as possible for every guest no pets are allowed at the Haven.

It’s located 20 miles from Clayton, OK, 42 miles from Antlers, OK, 63 miles from Hugo, OK, 35 miles from Smithville, OK, and 49 miles from Hochatown, OK.

What a great long weekend

Everything is just as pictured and the use of the kayaks on site even made our stay batter. The hosts were friendly and helpful which is always nice. The river was low due to no rain but we still enjoyed ourselves. The hot days let me get a good nap on the comfy couch.

Great place to get away

We loved The Haven. I wanted to get away from the city and work and this was the perfect spot. The cabin was perfect for us and the kitchen is great. Heather was a great host and was very easy to communicate with. Make sure you bring water shoes if you plan on playing in the river as it has a rocky bottom. My favorite part was mindlessly floating on the river and listening to nature.

Amazing Getaway

We had the best time at this property. The peace and serenity are second to none. We woke up to the babbling river, fished all day, and dined under the bright stars at night. We will be back. We left our hearts here.

Perfect starry night

This remote cabin is a hidden gem! You get the beauty of nature and star gazing but the cleanliness and modern amenities in the cozy cabin. The hosts were so helpful and kind. Our family loved this place!

Beautuful, peaceful cabin

Everything was good. The area is beautiful, but rather remote. The owner communicated ahead of time about the cabin, to make sure we brought ice as the closest store is 25 minutes away. She also dropped off kayaks for us to use. The cabin itself is very comfortable and clean. The owners put some effort into creating lovely paths and areas around the cabin.

great experience

This is a great place to stay. It is literally the cleanest property I have ever stayed in (hotel, cabin, etc.). The fire at night, the porch facing the river in the morning, and the kayaks on the river were all very fun. Cal and Mosey were such great hosts and seem like really amazing people.

Beautiful cabin, great location for some R&R

My family and I loved it. Owners brought us kayaks and a canoe which we used everyday. We caught 3 perch, 3 black bass, and 1 large mouth bass. We plan to go back!

Amazing place to unplug and just great away

We couldn't have picked a better place to spend the long weekend. The cabin, location, and scenery was absolutely perfect. Quiet, very secluded, and the stars at night topped it all off. The hosts were incredible, and if you forgot anything, they had extras waiting at the cabin already. It was exactly what we were looking for.

Small but cozy and beautiful!

It’s not a very big cabin, but it was nice and warm and cozy. The property is beautiful, with great views and a cool little trail. Fire pit and nice deck looking over the river. The house is equipped with all you need and the owners are very responsive when it comes to communicating.

The Haven...great cabin

I have stayed in 13 cabins in southeastern Oklahoma during the past 16 years. The Haven is one of the nicest cabins for sure, super clean and stocked with everything one might need during a visit. Best feature of this cabin is that it sides on the bank of Little River. Hope to make another visit in the near future. Gary D.

Wow.

We all loved this place! Absolutely beautiful. Heather let us check in early, and check out late. Loved the kayaking and river. Was a big hit with the whole group. We were already making plans to come back again.

My husband was not sure about this place when I told him how far it was from where we normally stay but the views and the quiet changed his mind we are already talking about our next stay and staying longer the next time it was amazing and clean all questions were answered quickly and everything we needed was taken care of I would definitely recommend it

River Oasis

We cannot say enough great things about this property. It was extremely clean and communication with the host was beyond expectations. The house is cozy and has everything you could possibly need. There are so many small details within the house that made our stay exceptional-candy dishes, children’s books, games, cozy blankets, plenty of towels, the list goes on. The outside spaces are really what made the trip for our family. Our kids spent the majority of their time playing in the river, fishing, canoeing, and exploring every inch they could. Having s’mores every evening in the fire pit, calm mornings on the deck, and clear starry nights will add to the list of memories we made on this trip. We truly loved the entire “Haven” experience.

The perfect escape

This place met all of our expectations and more. The owners have gone above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. You are fully stocked with all the necessities and they are just a text or phone call away if you need anything else. You have no choice but to disconnect and take in all the beauty. I loved that we weren’t distracted by our phones going off so the sketchy service was a plus for me lol! But there was WiFi as well just in case. We enjoyed the kayaking and just setting on the porch listening to all the sounds. This is like a dream home for us 🥰. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful riverside cabin with amazing hosts!

Our family had a wonderful, relaxing long weekend at The Haven, which really is a little slice of Heaven. Lovely, super clean cabin with every convenience provided, even chocolates by the bed! Well stocked kitchen, plenty of fluffy towels, cozy bed linens, comfortable furniture, excellent fire pit with lots of chairs and several lovely outdoor deck and picnic areas. The sound of the river flowing over rocks just below the back porch was soothing. Watching the many turtles play in the water and birds swooping and singing near the feeders was fabulous. We went kayaking on the river, roasted hot dogs and marshmallows on the fire pit, read on the deck and even did some required computer work on the back porch (wi-fi worked very well). While the setting and cabin are lovely, the best part of this trip had to be the hosts. They were fantastic and made the whole weekend special. We highly recommend this cabin for a fantastic getaway from all the stress of the city.

I have very high expectations and The Haven far surpassed them all.

There was absolutely nothing lacking. I smiled from the minute we walked inside. Very comfy, very clean, sounded good and smelled great. The pictures do not begin to show the beauty and serenity of the place. The starry night, river, otters playing in the river and watching my grandkids paddle by... while. sipped coffee on the porch...priceless! I asked a lot of questions before and after booking, and Cal answered every single one quickly and completely. I almost don't want to write a review so it stays a secret find, but the Webb's took excellent care of us and provided in abundance, so it is only right that I let anyone looking for an amazing getaway know that you definitely will be well pleased with The Haven. I only hope it's available when we plan to go back!

A true home away from home!

My husband, two boys (ages 5 & 8) and I had an amazing time at this wonderful cabin. We were seeking a nice and relaxing break from our busy lives in Dallas, and this property completely fulfilled our wish. The house was the perfect size for our family and was immaculately clean! The owners were very thoughtful with all the personal touches of the house and we were grateful for the little items they left available for us to use (i.e. popcorn, hot chocolate, toiletries, charcoal and ice). The furniture was beautiful and comfy too! The property is amazing and we enjoyed walking the marked trails (so helpful!) and exploring the creek. My boys enjoyed going out on the canoe, and every evening my hubby fished off the canoe. One of my favorite activities was laying on the lounge chairs on the wooden patio overlooking the river! Each night ended with us roasting marshmallows at the fire pit while we enjoyed the hundreds of stars above our head. It was truly a sight we've never seen before! We definitely hope to return to this amazing location and we are so thankful that y'all welcomed us to your home!

Picked for wrong reason in mind

As far as the cabin, excellent, check in was so easy, never seen anyone, talked to Heather on phone only, when I did contact her, very helpful and kind. When we walked in, soothing music playing. We wanted to relax, it was perfect for me, but the main reasoning for this trip was my husband hasnt been fishing in along time, it was his vacation from work, to go fishing. No easy access to fish, are even easy access to put the kayaks in the water, and you have to get them yourself. My husband and I walked down the side of the steep hill to fish, it was more work trying to fish. Were 61 and 59 years of age. We did load up 2 kayaks, brought back to the cabin, they stayed in the truck overnight and brought back the next day. Not an easy access to put them in the water at all. We checked out a day early and went home. Overall if you want to get away from the face pace of life, enjoy a beautiful scenery, stay in a beautiful and very nice cabin , no one bothering you at all, enjoy a fire pit, wood provided, a cabin with everything, where all you have to bring is your clothes and food. Sat on the back porch enjoying nature and overlooking the river, watching turtles, I would diffently recommend this place. I would truly love to come back and enjoy some TLC, without a pole lol.

A perfect cabin beside still waters

This was the best vacation our family has enjoyed in quite some time. Located in a quiet, secluded and peaceful area, the cabin and surrounding grounds are absolutely beautiful. The cabin itself is in pristine condition and comfortably accomodated our family of five. Cal, Mosley and family have done an incredible job both on the cabin and on the grounds around it. Multiple gravel trails lead out to the following discoveries: a deck that gives a different perspective of the river, a firepit with plenty of seating, and an area where a creek feeds into the river, complete with a little waterfall. Thoughtful touches were also displayed throughout the cabin: chocolate treats carefully placed in multiple candy dishes, cocoa and popcorn for evening snacks, and board games to enjoy following a day of outdoor adventures. We met Cal and Mosley one morning when they dropped off the kayaks and canoe, along with some life jackets. They are both kind and caring and go out of their way to ensure that you have a perfect stay. They communicate very well with their guests and fully respect your privacy. However, when you stay at the cabin, I definitely recommend meeting them! They have children and grand-children that live in the area. A few of their grandchildren were the same ages as our children, so they spent the last few days playing together, fishing, swimming, and kayaking. My children didn't want to leave because they had had so much fun with Gracie and Daniel. I highly recommend staying here. There are three bits on information I would offer future travelers: 1) if you're looking for a party house on the lake, this is not it. It is a secluded cabin in the woods. You can (and should) spend the entire time just playing in the river and in the woods. It is peaceful and serene: exactly what my family was looking for. 2) When we went, there was construction on Nolia loop (the hosts obviously have no control over this). I would highly recommend using the east Nolia loop entrance as the west entrance was under construction and the crew did not leave an easy path or detour. Luckily our SUV is AWD and we were able to make it through, but if we were in a sedan we likely would've gotten stuck. And finally 3) grab some groceries before you arrive at the cabin. Once you get settled you will not want to leave again!
