If you are looking for the perfect getaway on the Buffalo National River, you have found it here at The Boxley House. Nestled right in the heart of the valley, elk viewing doesn’t get any better! Located only 2 miles from Lost Valley trail and 3 miles from the Ponca bridge, hiking and floating are right outside your door!

Recently renovated, this farmhouse is equipped with all the modern amenities including central heat and air, as well as new appliances, along with WiFi and Netflix. You simply can not beat the location!

Ponca is less than 5 minutes away where you can access the Ponca Low Water bridge and the Buffalo River trail. Lost Valley trail, Hawksbill Crag, Centerpoint Trailhead, and Steele creek are only a short drive away. Wilderness Rider Buffalo and Adventure Park is just up the road and there is plenty of space to park your trucks and trailers! If you are looking to float or hike the Upper Buffalo River area, or just relax in the peaceful valley, you will not be disappointed at The Boxley House!

Great location, saw elk in adjacent pasture and close to buffalo river.

The property was very clean and comfortable and would recommend it for anyone staying in the area

A great trip to Boxley Valley

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was very clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for cruising the valley to watch the elk. We’re already planning a return trip!!

A great place to stay while at the Buffalo River area. Plenty of room with the feel of home . Nice well kept yard with a cozy fire pit. 👍

Lovely cabin

Your cabin was just what we all needed to get away and relax. We hiked a few short hikes a sat in the nearby river!

Perfect!!

We have been coming to Ponca for several years now and have admired this little house. I was thrilled to find out that it was available to rent. It was perfect for us. It was very very clean and i loved the location. We will definitely be booking again.

Clean and comfortable family getaway

Our family retreat was so great, we are so thankful to have spent it here. The cabin is clean and spacious. We enjoyed the fire pit and gas grill. Highly recommend.

Great Location

The house was perfect for my family and friends that joined us. We loved being in the Boxley Valley, seen lots of Elk and it is close to the hiking trials and Steel Creek where we went swimming!

Perfect Stay

We’ve stayed near the Buffalo River for many years and have been to many homes and cabins in the area. While they’ve all been fine, this is one I’ll be returning to stay. I fell in love with the home and its history. In addition, the host was fantastic and so kind and responsive when I had questions related to the area and history.

30th Anniversary

Our stay was perfect. The Boxley house was spotless, the area was quiet and relaxing. We saw turkey, elk, deer, and cows. The house is in a great location for exploring the area. We would highly recommend this rental, and would love to return.

Peaceful and relaxing

The house was very nice and cozy. Enjoyed sitting out back, listening to the stream, and playing corn hole. Lots of activities to do close but could of been content staying at the house.

Earth day getaway!

Pulled together an odd bunch of friends together, experienced Hemmed in hollow falls and hawksbill crag. 50/10 loved our trip! Made friends with the yard armadillos 🙂

Annual Anniversary trip!

The farmhouse was clean with plenty of room, friendly owner correspondence. We go every year to this area to view and take photos of the elk. This location was perfect for that! Quiet area.. We will definitely be back. Although it was just my husband and I, it would be plenty of room to bring the kids and grandkids

Great location to use as home base!

We had a great time staying in the Boxley Valley farmhouse rental. The location couldn't be any better in regards to accessing the upper Buffalo wilderness. The house was just as advertised and met our needs perfectly. There was plenty of space, the house was clean and we enjoyed playing and relaxing in the outdoor spaces. We recommend this to anyone wanting to spend a few days exploring the valley.

Fathers Day get away.

The property was as advertised and we had no complaints. It was four adult males that stayed and we had plenty of room and the back deck was great. It is a little bit of a hike to the store which we didn't mind at all. It was completely secluded and a great place to relax and unwind, no cell phone service was a plus!
