Beautiful home with original wood craftsmanship throughout. Updated, well maintained and clean 2 bedroom, 1 bath located at the base of the Tobacco Root Mountains on the Jefferson River. Just 7 miles from the town of Whitehall and very close to National Forest Access with great hiking and hunting. 2 miles to the Copper K Barn event venue and 3 miles to the Kountz Bridge Fishing Access. 4 miles to Renova primitive hot springs. 60 miles from Bozeman, 30 miles from Butte and 120 miles to West Yellowstone.
The house has a wonderful sunroom with rockers to sit and enjoy the views of the mountains and river. Nice kitchen with everything you need to prepare your own meals. There is also a private courtyard with a picnic table and gas grill for outdoor dining.
Mountain views from every window in the house and river views on the west. Prefect for watching those Montana sunsets.
There is a fruit tree orchard on the property with 45 trees. Take a walk around the orchard or sit on the park bench and just enjoy being surrounded by trees. If your lucky there may be some ripe fruit to pick. Or take a easy walk down the hill to the river. Enjoy the peaceful riverside or fishing on several hundred feet of riverfront.

Lovely Property

We totally enjoyed our stay! Our only complaint is that it was too short! Perfect location for our stay, right down the road from the wedding we were attending. Spotlessly clean and the view was amazing! Would totally stay again.

Awesome views

The Good Stunning views, wildlife, comfortable beds Lots of space River access is cool. Bathroom remodel was great. The no slip penny tile on the floor was a nice touch. Fishing gear and waders provided with a sign indicating they were for guest use. The glass porch with rockers offers great views with no bugs. Main area seating was very comfortable. Kitchen was adequate and well stocked. The bad 2 portable ac units take a long time to cool the space. If the back tv room is occupied and the door is closed the other ac struggles to keep up. It was August when we were there to be fair. Numerous fans provided do help keep the air moving. Small 30 gallon water heater so take fast showers Water temperature is hard to adjust in the shower as there is no mixing valve so it might take you a while to get the temp you like but with only 2 of us staggering showers we had hot water. No curtain in the bathroom but a towel made my wife feel more at ease. The ugly Not clean this time. Dog hair on couch and floors, crumbs all over table and floors, people hair in shower and the floors were really bad. Refrigerator needed a good scrubbing too. We spent the first 45 mins cleaning. We were pretty disappointed by that but with all the clean reviews this time seems like an anomaly. Despite that we would not hesitate to stay here again. D predisappoithatthastaying.

Peaceful Serenity

Third night of a 3 and a half day trip. Really great place with spectacular views. They have so much any age group could enjoy. Full kitchen. We stopped on the way in to get supper to cook. If you’re looking for a quiet get away to relax without the noise and crowds, this place is perfect. Always nice to have a pack and play and infant high chai available

Fabulous place!

Don't look any further, this is the place you want! A little bit off the beaten path with fabulous views. Pictures are accurate but don't do it justice! Joe and Lisa are excellent and thought of everything one might need on vacation plus some! We couldn't be happier with our stay and would most definitely stay here again!

Our favorite place!!

This is our 4th time staying here. We love everything about it. It's off the beaten path, so quiet and peaceful. My grandkids know where the toys are and always head there first. Joe and Lisa moved the horses up to the corral by the cabin and my granddaughter was in love. Thank you guys for another beautiful visit❤

Perfect place for my first Montana trip

What can I say? The view is the wow factor with this property but even still the house itself is homely, pristine and very well appointed. The owners are very friendly, considerate and very quick to respond to inquiries. Will definitely recommend this place.

Special, comfortable property with thoughtful touches!

Repeat visitor and don't think I've ever experienced a higher ratio of fun and relaxation per dollar. Clean, comfortable cabin with breathtaking views of the Jefferson River and surrounding valley from giant picture windows; Hosts Joe and Lisa have thought of everything, from the instant wifi connection and clean BBQ grill to the nice binoculars for watching the abundant wildlife. And they've now added complimentary fishing gear to enjoy their private river access. Unbeatable value and a truly special property.

Restful retreat with amazing views!

Property and pictures are exactly as described. My family was traveling from point A to point B and needed a one-night stopover, so we picked this listing hoping the pictures were accurate. The pictures barely do the view justice. If you are looking for a restful retreat where you can soak in nature, I cannot recommend this place enough! Watching the sun rise over the valley was especially enjoyable. We communicated several times with the owner and she was always quick to respond and very hospitable. The beds are on the firmer side, and if people would prefer softer beds a mattress pad would take care of it. We would definitely come back and stay for longer if we have the opportunity. Thank you for hosting us and providing such a wonderful stay!

Beautiful Property

Beautiful views! Very cozy! We stayed for a wedding near by. Wished we could have stayed a couple more days to take advantage of the property and what it had to offer...river access, relaxing in the sun room with a cup of coffee and a book, playing horseshoes and barbequing.

Great 3 day stay

My wife and I stayed at this property on a vacation / business trip we took at the end of August. The cabin was perfect: very clean and comfortable, a great location for bird watchers and those who prefer a quiet, country setting. The owners were fabulous, live just around the corner, and I consider them them friends after just 3 days. I can't find anything negative to say. The guy that lived next store was even a great guy who offered to give me a crash course on fly fishing!

Charming Cabin

We were in the area for a wedding and this was a perfect spot to relax and visit with our kids before we headed to the wedding which was only 2 miles away. The views are spectacular and the cabin is charming and unique. Highly recommend this location.

Another great stay!

This is our second visit to Orchard house. My husband and I stayed 2 nights and it was just as beautiful as we remembered. Great house! Had everything we could have needed and more for our weekend stay. Barbequed dinner and ate at picnic table in courtyard. Nice early evening walk down to Jefferson River. Beautiful views! Lots to do in the area. We spent one day riding trails at Pipestone and cooling down at Delmoe lake. Will definitely make this a yearly stay! Thank you Joe & Lisa for sharing this beautiful place.

Perfection.

Joe & Lisa have done a PHENOMENAL job creating the perfect home away from home. We came up here to go to the Headwaters Country Jam and were so excited that we found this property to stay in - only 30 minutes from the music venue. We had no clue what a gem we found in Whitehall with Joe & Lisa’s home. It was incredibly clean, had everything you could want or need, and Joe & Lisa were as friendly as could be. We will definitely be back next summer with our kids!

Fantastic Stay

Our family had a wonderful stay at Orchard House. It was a peaceful, idylic location with spectacular views of the mountains. We never missed a sunset. Joe and Lisa were excellent hosts and we could not have asked for a better place for our first visit to Montana.

We have called Whitehall Montana home since 2006. We lived in the Orchard House while building our dream home next door. Since then we have created a little farm that we love to take care. We are enjoying life on the Jefferson River. We are excited to have the opportunity to share the Orchard House with family, friends and visitors. Since we are next door we will be happy to help make your stay a great one!
