Lake Michigan Beachfront Home for Large Groups, Private Beach Access

This sunny, charming beachfront home is just steps from the sand, containing 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and features all the comforts of home. Located just 60 minutes from Chicago and 50 minutes from South Bend, this home is perfect for summer vacations, weekend winery tours, and Notre Dame sports weekends. Only a private sand dune separates this home from one of Lake Michigan's most gorgeous beaches, so you can enjoy the privacy of your own yard while celebrating the tranquility of beach front living.

The recently refreshed home features a large open living, dining, and (fully stocked) kitchen area offering sunny, sweeping views of the waterfront dune. Over 800 square feet of deck and 450 square feet of patio space with a large fire pit and plenty of seating offer tons of space for dining and enjoying the beach. The house also has an outdoor shower, an extra den with a flat screen TV, a large private back (sand) yard, and an indoor/outdoor speaker system.

Wonderful Stay Right on the Beach!!

Wonderful stay, incredible location! You can't get better than your backyard being the beach! We love the decor & set up of this home. We've come here for many years & it's always a highlight of our summer.

Perfect Beach House Location

The real charm of this house is the feeling of seclusion, although it is in a pretty densely populated area, and the direct access to the beach. The back deck area is perfect! The kitchen is very accommodating and stocked with plenty of dishes, glasses and cooking ware. Plenty of beach towels are provided too. A great place!

Great stay

House was in a great location and plenty of space. Our group of twelve, 5 adults and 7 teens did not ever feel crowded. Plenty of supplies for our two night stay and kitchen supplies.

Great location and wonderful house

The house had plenty of space, was in a prime location to the beach and had a great outdoor space. Loved the views, especially at sunset. House has everything we needed for a long weekend stay and the owners very responsive to questions. Would stay again.

Everything our family needed!

We stayed here with cousins, aunts/uncles and grandparents (12 people total), and it suited us all. The owners were absolutely gracious and kind to work with. We'd stay there again! Oh and the beach was gorgeous!

Family Vacation

Enjoyed the family time. Very quiet area. Missed not having the foosball table as shown in pictures. Greatly appreciated the beach chairs, beach toys & beach towels being included.

Great weekend

Jen was great- very helpful, kind, and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time! The house was amazing- checked every box, AWESOME location, great space and very clean and modern. Would love to stay again!

Coziest vacation home I’ve been to

My family and I travel a lot and this was a family reunion that left everyone very satisfied. This home is very comfortable and filled with everything you need to make this house a home from towels to kitchen ware.

A wonderful place to host a family vacation.

Plenty of sleeping space. Plenty of bathrooms. Nice layout for group eating and socializing. Great fire pit. Beautiful dune landscaping. Moderately easy access to the beach.

Best Place Ever!

How You Dune is the perfect place for a large family. Three generations all enjoyed the week. Home is beautiful with Great Lake access. Love it!

Great location for a relaxing beach vacation!

House was clean and pictures of property were accurate. Everything described in the listing was in the house and available for our group to use. Property owner was able to get back with any questions we had while staying at the house.

Great time on the Dune.

A very nice home that was nicely equipped. We have 16 people in our party and there was ample space at the house. It was very close to a nice beach area and good off-street parking available.

On the Dune

The location directly on the dune is great. The outdoor patio has lots of seating, and a separate fire pit area, which makes for great evenings as the sun sets. Plenty of beach towels and chairs. Our second time at the house!

Family Vacation

This is third year that we held the family vacation at this house. As in the past, everything worked out just fine. Great place for large group to vacation. House is clean with fully functioning up to date kitchen and just a short walk from beautiful beach area on Lake Michigan.

Great time, great place!!

We rented this for my parents 45th anniversary celebration. 15 of us from 6-68 stayed in the house and had plenty of room and space if needed! Short walk to the most beautiful beach and lots of toys/floats/chairs come with the rental. Highly recommend! Thanks for the amazing memories!!

Family Vacation

Stayed there for recent family vacation. House worked out great. Very clean with all top grade appliances including the grill. Large deck worked perfect as place for family to gather and accommodated everyone for dinner when the weather was good. Just a short walk from the back deck down to the beach.

Lovely spot in front of Lake Michigan. House was spacious, with all the amenities we would want. Lots of spaces inside and outside to socialize and eat. Owner was quick to respond to our inquiries and a pleasure with whom to interact. We hope to be back.

Family Reunion Fun

We had a wonderful time at How You Dune! The view from the top of the dune was a bonus when watching the speed boat races and the sunsets. Some of our best photos ever! Communication with the owner was excellent. They were very responsive to our questions /concerns.

Family & Friends fishing trip

Beautiful location. Just a short walk over the dune to the beach. Minutes from the casino and marina as well as the zoo. Only concern was the public access to the beach and to know there will be drunks (which can be amusing but could also be annoying). Owners are so nice and responsive!!!! Everything you need for a wonderful family vacation

Lovely place to stay

We were here for a funeral and this home was a wonderful place to gather with family as the deck and family room are perfect. With 7 bedrooms, although smallish, everyone had their own space to which to retreat. It is a very well stocked hpuse and Brittany was soo sweet and communication was excellent. She even left us flowers and a condolence card. We hope to return to this beach house again and spend more time on the great beach that's such an easy walk from the house. Thank you for sharing !

Perfect Retreat

After 2 very difficult years, we rented the house as a retreat for our school administrator team in order to get work done and spend quality time together. It was perfect! The house was clean, very well stocked, and roomy enough for our group of 10. The hosts were very responsive and friendly. It was just the thing we needed to meet the needs of our group and we have already agreed to rent it again for next years retreat.
