We were planning on driving a lot during our McCloud stay (burney falls, crater lake etc) and originally picked this home based on the EV charger. While that was certainly a convenience, the charm and cleanliness of Walter’s home is what really won us over! We loved the views of the back yard and saw some deer. Our toddler loved walking to and playing (supervised) near the creek. Plenty private but also a short drive from McCloud and a 20 minute drive from downtown Shasta with access to coffee shops and restaurants. We would definitely recommend!!

We can’t recommend this cozy home enough. You can feel that there is a ton of love there and it would be perfect for large families or a weekend getaway for two. The view out the windows is the perfect place to enjoy a book and the access to the creek is very peaceful. I miss it already.

This cabin is awesome! It is a quiet and private setting. We loved walking down to the creek, and looking out the big windows at the meadow and trees. The kitchen was very well equipped, with everything you need to cook meals; nice large table for eating. We also enjoyed having so much space. Even though the weather was in the high 80’s, the cabin stayed cool. Walter was responsive and helpful. It was a lovely place to spend our time. You can tell that the host’s family furnished the cabin with love and care,

We enjoyed our stay; this type of home was just what we were looking for!The stream and water-front descriptions are not quite what was expected as there is no actual view of the stream until you walk right upon it, but this does not take away from the well-kept, wonderfully equipped home.

Our long weekend at the Mathew‘s cabin was incredible. Communication with the host was seamless and check-in process was as well. The cabin was perfect for our group and had an incredible view and easy access to a beautiful creek. The host was gracious enough to supply me with lots of fishing tips and information. We plan on returning soon.

Everything was as expected and more so.Host was very accomodating. The home was surrounded by tall pines. The AC unit kept everything cool in during the 100 degree weather. Open windows at night cooled the home perfectly for the next day. We plan to use this place soon. Cheers!

Wonderful vacation home. The host was great in giving information before we arrived. Fast internet. I loved the big window and having coffee in the morning and seeing the bucks in the yard. The stream was awesome to sit and relax by. Very spacious and had everything we needed. Very close to town for shopping. Had plenty of room for a couple trucks and a boat. Will definitely book here again when I go to Mc Cloud for vacation!

The Cabin and the whole experience was perfect! Location was amazing, secluded, yet we were 5 minutes from town/20 minutes to Shasta/lakes! Our family gets a cabin every summer, we typically stay closer to home(Arnold, Tahoe etc.) but decided to venture out and so glad we did! We all agreed this has been the BEST cabin yet! We hope to be back next summer.Walter was so nice, quick to respond/answer questions, accomodating, etc. Much appreciated!Cabin itself was exactly as shown/pictured. Plenty of room for our family of 7 plus dogs, nicely equipped with essentials and extras, and clean. Location was the best part, so quiet & peaceful. Saw deer, chipmunks, & bats from the deck, plus a bear on our walk through the neighborhood. The creek in the back was wonderful, we spent a lot of time there.Again, thanks to an amazing host and beautiful cabin in the woods.Hope to be back! Josette

Perfect vacation spot!

This property was beautiful, stocked with essential items, comfortable, quiet, close to groceries and daily water fun! Owner was super easy to contact and was quick to respond. Can't wait to return!

Most of the furniture in the living area had a LOT of dog hair. We couldn’t use one sofa during our entire stay.

We had a wonderful 3 nights at this cozy cabin in the trees. The kitchen has everything you need. The creek on the property is beautiful. We will definitely be booking this cabin again next year!

Great trip for our family

The cabin was very well kept, and there were lots of fun things to do nearby in the town or on the trail. We had a great time relaxing at the cabin with our family and had really positive interactions with our host. Would stay again!

Shasta ski trip

All of us Loved the house and the dogs loved a weekend getaway in the snow! Communication with the host was great! Will stay here again if we are ever back up in the area!

Our second year's ski vaction

Another great stay; everything was perfect. Mt. Shasta right up the road, and a cozy cabin to come home to after a day on the slopes. I highly recommend this cabin for a ski trip getaway!
