This is the second stay at the property. It never disappoints, is a wonderful space and off the grid but with all the amenities you could need. Good location, quiet space, lots of nature and wonderful hiking trails. We did have an issue with the oven not working properly, unfortunately it want fixed during our stay but we also understand we are in a mountain location so repair man couldn’t get part in time. Property manager is responsive, thorough and responsive, which we truly appreciate! We will return again!

Our stay at the Mt. Shasta mountain log cabin was excellent. The property was clean and comfortable, with stunning views of the surrounding forest. The location was peaceful and convenient for outdoor activities. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway

The cabin was amazing. More than enough room for the 6-7 of our group.The court was a nice feature for basketball and spike ball gamesI’d say that the listing on Vrbo is pretty accurate to what we actually got at the cabinOne good thing to know is that the dirt road that leads to the cabin on Circle Seven Rd has a 10 mph speed limit for 1 mileOverall 10/10 would recommend

Just finished out 3rd stay at what we call the snow house. Even though we were disappointed that McCloud didn't have any snow we still had a grand time. Drove up to Bunny Flat to get some tubing in with the family and hiking the trails around the house. Love the privacy in such a beautiful setting. Ready for next year!

Fantastic Stay

Four girlfriends of at least 35 years had a wonderful time at the cabin. We enjoyed good food and lots of pickleball. The court is top notch and we can’t wait to visit again.

Quiet location surrounded by wilderness.

Great location to explore the McCloud area. Plenty of wildlife in the area. Great location for a family gathering.

Beautiful quite property

It was lovely to stay at Eagles Rest and explore the property. Butterflies, wild turkeys and crystal clear streams. The cabin was spacious and comfortable.

Wonderful retreat cabin!

Everything was just right for our October 2023 retreat. The gorgeous woods outside the cabin, the cabin itself and the beds and kitchen. We have no complaints and will be back next year, most definitely.

Beautiful location

The home was very nice and clean. Located on a beautiful and peaceful piece of property. We were visited by deer every evening. There are also trails on the property for hikes. A great location if you are visiting the McCloud area.

Great log cabin

Beautiful log cabin with large deck. Basement was a little musty but was a usually hot weekend for this area. Kitchen was great for large group. Be prepared for a long drive to house on dirt road! Overall met the needs of our group for a long wedding weekend.

Professional renewal retreat

10 of us stayed in the cabin. We were able to sleep comfortably in the accommodations and a couple of us tried sleeping out on the deck - amazing view of the stars. The check in process was easy and the host was very responsive.

Perfect getaway

This such a great cabin in a remote location, close to McCloud. Fantastic private trails. A lot of private outside space. Warm and cozy inside with plenty of space for all. Everything you need for fun , lounging, cooking.

Winter Family Vacation

Though there was just a little snow at the cabin, there was plenty of snow on the mountain. We spent the days snowboarding, tubing, and ice skating and enjoyed warm, cozy evenings in this beautiful cabin watching movies, playing board games and enjoying each other’s company. Some of us even hiked Eagle’s Rest trail to the summit and took some family photos with Mount Shasta as the backdrop. The cabin is fully stocked with everything you might need for a great vacation!

Spacious, Beautiful location.

The house is large and well maintained. Very secluded at the end of a road in beautiful setting with forest on one side and meadow on the other. Decks delightful especially when the sun was out. Perfect for celebrating our family birthday. Small issue with WiFi, but owner was responsive and got it fixed. Overall, a great experience.

Couple things

The place was very nice. Only one paper towel roll and one dishwasher tablet. Property management needs to ensure extra supplies at residence. Nice place, would rent again..

The Family Retreat We Needed

From beginning to end this was the perfect location and house for my family that ranged in age from 4 all the way to 80. everyone had an amazing stay. Was it the view from the deck? Was it the spacious house? Was it the natural surroundings? It was all of this and so much more. We can't wait to come back in the winter and enjoy all of it with some snow on the ground.

Warning to families with young children and Warning about Management Company

Cons: Not safe for children. Water is boiling hot. Not managed by owner. Managed by Mt. Shasta Property Rentals who are not helpful. 24 hour hotline phone number is not answered in timely manner (6 hrs too late). Gps will get you lost. Must go out of area to get cell phone reception (which is usually fine except for when you have emergencies). When we called the property rental company during office hours (M-F 9-5, so not helpful on weekends since they don't answer their 24 hr line) they did not know where the property was. The written directions they sent were not accurate. Careful to leave house very very clean or you will get charged extra cleaning fee. Wood floors will give you splinters. They will also wake you up every time someone goes to the bathroom at night or gets up to change a diaper or feed an infant. Pros: great location. not too far from fire station in case of emergency. sleeps many if you want all that noise (thin floors and walls), washer and dryer, fireplace, tv and internet.

We are indeed sorry that this guest had a uncomfortable experience as we strive to make each vacation a special occasion. There can be surprises when you vacation in the mountains like: loss of cell service or minimal TV reception etc and even snow or power outages which are all out of our control. This guest did lock themselves out of the home and also washed their dog in the bathtub which caused an excess cleaning charge – again- out of our control. We do ask all owners to watch their children in any rental home as they are not all set up for small children (outlet covers, wood stoves, gates, etc). Unfortunately, things went downhill after the guest was charged an extra fee for cleaning based on the poor condition of the house at the time of their departure.

Beautiful and rustic log cabin with privacy

My family spent Christmas together at this cabin in McCloud. The property is large and is fully equipped for basketball and shuffleboard. A large ping pong table was enjoyed by all (located on the lower level). The beautiful hiking trail starts right out the cabin and is well marked. There is a lovely little stream running along the east side of the property. There are sleds available to use if you’re fortunate enough to have snow. The cabin is spacious ( 3 levels, sleeps 11), clean and stocked pretty well with kitchen supplies (glasses, flatware, plates, bowls etc.)The kitchen had a a toaster, blender, coffee maker, dishwasher, 1 oven and a large refrigerator/freezer. The pasta pot/dutch oven is in serious need of replacement so if you plan to boil water, bring your own. Most of the beds are comfortable, although one family member needed to swap out their mattress with one not being used because of poor quality. There were 9 of us but only 2 sofas and a padded rocking chair. It would be nice if large beanbags or additional padded seats were available so everyone could sit comfortably. The large dining table seats up to 10 persons. In addition there were 4 bar stools at the kitchen counter. There are 2 TVs on separate levels and games in the TV console on the main floor( second level). The decks outside and picnic tables surely are amazing when weather is warmer. I highly recommend this property for a tranquil retreat in the mountains.

The Eagles Rest cabin was beautiful and well appointed. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were quiet and spacious. Our teen kids loved the basketball/ pickle ball court and ping pong table. Communication was fantastic and the check-in/ out process was easy. Would stay here again and definitely recommend it to others.

Starry, starry nights!

We stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The property is so beautiful that you are drawn outside, so we went for many walks. Beds are really comfortable and the owners have thought of every detail and comfort needed to enjoy a stay, here. Even their deck chairs recline so that you can grab a blanket and enjoy the star-filled skies at night! We could've cooked for ourselves, but we didn't, instead enjoying breakfasts at the White Mountain Cafe and dinners at Sage, both superb and closeby in McCloud. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

Amazing and perfect getaway!!

My husband and I had an amazing time in McCloud! The property is in a secluded location; very quiet and peaceful. There’s also trails you can explore. In addition, there is a gorgeous view of Mt. Shasta! We will definately be back and would love to stay here during winter time.
