Spectacular Custom Mountain Chalet on over five acres with breathtaking views in pristine, Private Park. The large kitchen with Wolf cooktop and Viking double ovens is any chef’s dream. Floor to ceiling windows with extraordinary views and cozy wood stove. 4 BR 3 Bath plus multiple living, dining, and extra sleeping areas. Decks on second and third floors to enjoy serene views of the snow capped 14k’ mountain peaks and abundant wildlife. Includes high speed internet. Please note, 4WD is highly recommended during months when snow is possible. The park plows the roads but snow removal on the property may not be possible at times.

Very nice house, like three suites, one on each floor! Made it easy to socialize and also get a good night's rest! The area is beautiful as well!

Clean home, the way up is all trail which is probably my only complaint but not bad it’s to be expected when you’re mountain lodging! Overall a great experience comfortable home. Will definitely book again in the future

This house was really great.. yes, a few things could be upgraded but it’s very large and quiet. You can drive anywhere within 20 to 30 min. So scenic and beautiful

Peaceful retreat

The property was just like the pictures. The host was very quick to reply. Many nearby fun attractions to visit. I’d recommend the great sand dunes and the zapata waterfalls.

Vrbo stay

We had a very pleasant stay in your home! It is well supplied, clean, quiet. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have quiet time and privacy if they wanted. Saw animals including a wolf, coyote, deer, and one elk. If the opportunity arrises, we would stay here again.

Comfortable home with nice views

Host very easy to communicate with. Prompt and helpful. House has great layout for people to spread out and awesome kitchen to prepare meals. We added an extra day to trip with ease since there was an opening. Would stay again if available

My wife and I grew up in the Valley, her on Blanca and myself in Alamosa wwe do this every year to stay close to family so the property was a good place for all,beautiful!The grills outside neither was even clean enough to use.So our cooking was done inside on more dirty cooking surfaces, The range had so much grease under griddle, we worried about a fire because we brought kabobs to cook outside but couldn't. Did I mention the range hood lights didn't work! My wife checked the silverware and found food left on utensil in drawer, so we washed all first dishwasher did work! Pots and pans are very dated wife said look like our camping stuff! Lights out everywhere, we repl the appliance bulbs. Shower curtain 2ond floor bath disgusting Beds were okay, floors were beautiful but dated, not swept. Screens 3rd floor patio doors both busted out. Shower 3rd floor needs descaling Shower heads plugged. My family and I still enjoyed our stay we went to Sand Dunes,one day, Zapata Falls and the Hooper Pool.

Ok place, limited selection

Gate access bad, went to voicemail numerous times. Road to gate is very washboard. The remotes dont work, no ice available, beds not so good. Otherwise stay was ok

Alamosa family vacation

It is a great property located in a beautiful forested area. It is very conveniently located to visit the dunes, which was one of the major reasons that we chose it. The property is quite large so it made it convenient for our family to spread out and enjoy the area.

Not nearly as luxurious as description

My family of 7 spent 2 weeks visiting national parks in Utah and Colorado. We stayed mostly in vacation rentals. This home in Fort Garland was our last stop on the trip. I didn't receive an address for the home until the night before and I was shocked at how far it was from the town of Fort Garland. I had picked it instead of options in Alamosa because I thought it was closer. The house is 20 minutes east of Fort Garland and 4 miles on a dirt road. It was 50 min to Great Sand Dunes and 50 min from a grocery store. Once I found out how far it was, I hoped it would be a very nice home, to make it worth the extra driving. The positives for this house is that it was clean and had lots of space for 7 people to spread out, but it is in no way luxurious. We stayed in several older homes on our trip, but they had all been totally redone and were top notch. This house needs a lot of work. It has no AC, lots of broken screens and windows that won't open due to broken handles. More than half of the kitchen light bulbs were burned out. Many light switches that didn't work. The entire upstairs bedroom electrical outlets didn't work. The toilet seat was broken on the main floor. The lower floor smelled musty. On the last night one of my daughters came upstairs and slept on the futon because there was an animal, probably a mouse, scratching in the wall of her room all night. This was the most disappointing home we stayed in on our trip. It could be a nice place, but it needs a lot of work.

Lovely home in secluded area

We stayed here in order to visit the Sand Dunes and were happy with the accommodations. This lovely home is in a quiet, secluded area. The kitchen is nice and the beds are comfortable. It was a pleasant stay for our family of 15.

Wonderful Stay

The house was very spacious and we were able to spread out. The weather was such that we spent a lot of time outside just enjoying nature even so. Any time I needed to contact the owner, I would get a response almost immediately. Highly recommend!!

Mountain Air

If you are looking for someplace off the beaten path with AMAZING views and all the amenities, this is it! We had a mixed group (my husband and I with an infant, my dad, and our best friends). We had excellent space to spread out for relaxing and were not stepping on one another to get dressed to go out. Property access was well defined and user friendly.

Great for a group gathering!

A great place to stay with a group - large kitchen and multiple other common areas to spend time together in. We had 3 families staying together, including 6 kids, and the kids had such fun exploring, playing with the provided games, and watching movies at night in the 'theater loft'. Great for older kids (4 or 5+ depending on the child) & adults, and would be fine for non-mobile babies too. For busy toddlers this may not be an ideal rental due to large gaps in deck railings, lots of stairs inside & out, and some loose outlet covers. Communication with the host was great - he was very prompt & helpful with questions both before and during visit. We'd definitely stay again!

Breathtaking and luxurious

The photos do not do justice to the home, two large family rooms both with breathtaking views one with a large screen and the other with a wall size screen. Huge shower with multiple nets and a deep tub with water jets. If you like to cook it has a large gas stove top or outside bbq pit. We were 10 adults and one child and even when we were all together on the main floor it never felt crowded. We have multiple cooks in our family and the kitchen had room for all that were so inclined to cook together . The owner responded to my text promptly and was helpful and kind.

Wonderful and peaceful

We had a great time at this property. Well-supplied kitchen and lots of toys for kids. Everything was clean and well cared for, and the caretaker was very responsive.
